Translate Photo & Camera Scan Reviews

I tried several times on a 16 pt 1 character label and other more complicated labels, every scan was unrecognized. I tried premium figuring I needed more practice, but in the end no amount of effort could read any Chinese label. Sorry, it is a great idea, if it worked. Maybe it will improve with age. Also, beware their privacy policy is pretty broad, maybe worth it for the function, but now do I delete or wait, as it says they can use the data even when not using TranslatePhotoCameraScan ? Geotagging every menu I try this on and selling the data, might be someone’s idea of fun, but not mine unfortunately.

If I could give it less than a star I would. I tried so many times to translate Japanese to English but it wouldn’t scan the words at all. It’d give me a loading screen then tell me it couldn’t do it no matter what I tried. Then on top of that since I had the free version I could only scan 3 times so when they were giving me errors it was also taking away the times I could scan a picture in. TranslatePhotoCameraScan needs some serious work if it ever wants to be good because as far as I see it TranslatePhotoCameraScan is trash.

Cant exactly type Hangul into my phone, and my entire family except me is fluent in Korean. TranslatePhotoCameraScan has been a godsend. Letters I’m mailed? Snap a photo. Boom. Instant translation. Snacks I’m sent? Another photo! Perfect translation right down to the ingredient list and fine print.

Don’t mind what the score is it’s a great app. People are just upset that they can’t translate the same type of language. For example you might be in Mexico and want to use TranslatePhotoCameraScan but it uses the most basic form of the language instead of all of the 22 countries form of Spanish.

I was really impressed!

however it did not automatically adjust what language it was when in the translation window. I had to manually set it.

Can you fix this?

It’s a pretty good app. But there are still problems. It only translated something right one time then it stopped working. I was trying to translate a Japanese song that just premiered on YT but the English subtitles aren’t out yet. The second and third try didn’t work so then I had no more tries left since we can only do 3 a day.

So I got TranslatePhotoCameraScan about a week ago and it just hasn’t worked. Like you can’t touch the screen or even exist off TranslatePhotoCameraScan without waiting. It causes my phone to freeze. (iPhone 5s newest iOS). It overall looked like a legit I work app but sadly it doesn’t work. It isn’t worth getting in my opinion. Anyways take your chances with it, maybe you can get it to work. I hate publishing bad reviews but it happens. Don’t want others to make the same mistake I did.

I’m deleting it, simple as that.

I use TranslatePhotoCameraScan daily to capture headline text to text from memes. It quickly captures the text and makes it super easy to copy and paste the information into a search engine.

It should have more instructions on how to plug in a different language to translate to further understand the transcription of words turn to other words

I have a document in Greek that I needed to translate. TranslatePhotoCameraScan was 100% accurate and took seconds to get the translation. Highly recommend.

TranslatePhotoCameraScan doesn't translate Japanese good just so all the manga readers now. TranslatePhotoCameraScan is also pushy when it comes to getting premium. And the ads won't go away. I don't recommend this to anyone looking for CORRECT translations. Developer, if you read this, please fix TranslatePhotoCameraScan so it actually works well. I can tell TranslatePhotoCameraScan has potential, just needs to be fixed and I can see it working well. But still, the translations wrong.

First thing asked when opening TranslatePhotoCameraScan is location service to find where you are for your language. Doesn’t need that give a wall of text with each language’ name shown as the respective language . 2 ask for payment up front with no clear way to close the offer.( not even the camouflage X)

This is a miracle app. Without it I would be signing contracts without knowing what’s in them... great for package ingredients for grocery products. Wonderful.

I was trying to translate something in a different language. It gave me a wierd translation so I tried again, and it gave me something completely different. I also tried putting the text upside down, and it still recognized the text as a wierd translation. Don’t download TranslatePhotoCameraScan, don’t use TranslatePhotoCameraScan, and definitely don’t spend a penny on TranslatePhotoCameraScan.

I was hoping to translate some Russian text to English. Apparently I need to pay money to translate from any other language besides English? So... I’m translating English. To English. That doesn’t even make sense, and there is no point. If you want to take money at least mark TranslatePhotoCameraScan as having to pay. I downloaded it for absolutely no reason.

But I love TranslatePhotoCameraScan so you keep on making all these apps that keep us looking at other people

Don’t understand changes. Difficult. No directions. Only translates two sentences

No complaints. Not like the other apps that ask you for money.

When TranslatePhotoCameraScan had the red icon it worked great and I used it almost every day now I feel like I was ripped off by purchasing the year subscription. It does not work for japanese language at all any more... I am so disappointed and I don’t know why they have not fixed this in over a year! #donotrecomend

So. I tried using the camera translate thing. all it would do was say “Error”’Error” error” Whenever I took a pic. I really don’t like it and it’s totally useless. I wouldn’t recommend it AT ALL. Needs tons of work. And can’t scan simple words. Total useless garbage that I wasted my time with. A disappointment.

You can’t use TranslatePhotoCameraScan unless you allow it access to your location data. There’s not even a way to decline. Why would that be necessary for TranslatePhotoCameraScan??? To avoid yet another infringement on my privacy, I deleted it without even getting to use it

If u want app to copy your document, this is the one. But it not good that good for translate. However I guess copying is enough.

I tried translating something but I had to take the right shot and after three scan it said that I had to buy premium to have 5 more scans. It would have been better if you couldn’t run out of scans. Disappointed.

5 years ago this was my go to travel translation app, but now that it's been "updated" it doesn't work at all. It recognizes characters but gives no translation. This is why I avoid updating software that already works.

Took picture but nothing happened other than to capture image. Pushed another button and it said processing image then showed the image in original language and noted image saved.

I had many different asian languages i was trying to translate but it wouldnt read it. If i did any other language it read it and translated it. A lot of the time the translation was wrong! So basically it doesnt read asian languages and is horrible at translating.
