Worst App Ever!!

IHi..

I never had to review any app in my life. But with StagePlotGuru I had to.. You have to improve the complete app.. I invest like 2 hours in data entry for nothing. You can’t export the Data.. restart StagePlotGuru and the layout is destroyed.. I want my money back!!

Not useful

Don’t bother. First of all, I had to buy pro version to get more than 4 props. This is an app designer’s idea of what a plot should look like. Neither the plot not the pin list are particularly readable. Yes all the info is in there but it just looks like romper room. Missing all kinds of stuff like low profile wedges, any rf, and pedalboards. I would never in a million years hand this to a stage manager or audio vendor.

Unable to name instruments and create input list

Can I get a refund? Using this on iPhone and StagePlotGuru will not let me create an input list and name instruments. I can’t add notes, descriptions or anything. Can I get my money back? What a waste. The instrument/gear options are nice.

Free but not really

I tried finding a free stage plot online. This one looked promising but only in StagePlotGuru . I downloaded StagePlotGuru and then I can’t do anything unless I spend $7. Even the locked version seemed annoying and I couldn’t really get a sense of how it worked. I’ll find a stage plot somewhere else. Thanks.

Beware if you have an iPhone

Absolutely unusable on my iPhone mini. Completely unable to change input names or ad notes even using instructions provided by stage guru. I wish I could ask for my money back.

Super Crash Prone!

I purchased the paid features for StagePlotGuru a while ago and it continues to crash.

I’ve tried to give it time, with hopes that the release of iOS 12 would encourage an update of some sort from the developers...but it doesn’t seem likely...

Save your money everyone, it’s a great idea for an app, but a failed attempt nonetheless.

Awful

Haven’t really felt the need to write a review for an app until today. Can’t do anything without paying the $4.99. No obvious delete button after you drop an image in. They grab you with the free version, but limit the what you can actually do without paying creating an essentially a useless app.

Save your money and time

This runs like absolute garbage. Nothing is user friendly. Trying to reshape things is a stupid struggle, trying to pinch or unpinch your fingers. The animation looks real bad.

I couldn’t use any features unless I paid money. Not a single drum or mic.

It’s a chaotic mess trying to move or label anything. I wish I could get my money back and give it zero stars

Still has same issues

I’ve been reading all the reviews for StagePlotGuru, and no wonder it has a low rating. They still have the same issues as 6 years ago per their reviews.
1. Still lots of pop-ups that you need to buy the subscription for anything you want to do.
2. Most equipments are locked.
3. No search button to look for a specific item.
4. Cannot rotate the items.
5. I’m not sure if they have lecterns?
6. Unable to edit/delete items without paying for the subscription.
7. No zoom in/out.
8. I’m trying to built a theater stage, I don’t think this is StagePlotGuru to use for that.

Without upgrade, can’t create or test anything

When you download StagePlotGuru it immediately stonewalls you into repeated pop ups to buy StagePlotGuru . This would be understandable if you could actually place any items on the stage plot to see how to create or edit in even the most basic way. Every single instrument is locked. As a first time user and touring professional I was immediately turned off and frustrated to the point of deleting StagePlotGuru immediately.

I can understand incentivizing the customer to purchase and expand their options, but the way it’s done in StagePlotGuru is pretty infuriating. If you need to buy StagePlotGuru to use it at all, so be it. If you have a free nerfed version, that’s great. If your free version is both completely unusable and with repeated pop-ups, you’re just alienating a huge number of potential customers. This is not an effective foot-in-the-door method, which is reflected in the general rating and review content.

Sincerely,
A touring musician and sound guy who makes a lot of stage plots and talks to a lot of people who make a lot of stage plots.

I Wish

I purchased StagePlotGuru because of the possibilities it seemed to have. I spent about an hour figuring how to enter data so that there would be an order to things. The tutorial is garbage. After building a stage, although all of the instruments and accessories appeared on the stage, NONE OF THE INPUT INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE! I spent approximately 2 hours working and on this for nothing. I hate wasting time and right now, StagePlotGuru is waste of time and money!

Needs lots of work

Doesn’t work right with iOS 13. When you want to change stage dimensions, you can’t scroll down to it. Only gives you the first 6 lines to modify. Need to find a better app.

Nothing is to scale

I can’t seem to figure out how to make anything to scale. I ,add an 8x16 stage and the bass drum is about 5 feet across. Also many menus are blank. I really want this to work, but so far no dice.

Money back please

Things I liked. Lots that sucked. Low Rez, image is jumbled and offset from iPad - to file creating.
Would not write a bad review if StagePlotGuru cost $2. But for $7!!! Yikes. Rip off.

Lots they could do to make this better.

Ok but def needs work

PDF is fuzzy when exported, I have latest OS and new version. Need a function to take your logo off of the plot, I'm sending this to professional venues not a bar, I paid for StagePlotGuru . Either need to make the Mic stands adjustable or have more variance in their positioning.
Also - It would be nice to have everything on one page, inputs etc. or at least the option. This is def the best application I've seen for stage plots, but that isn't saying much. If you guys fixed the bugs, gave us more instruments and layout choices I'd happily pay 20-40$ easy. StagePlot pro has a great set up with the numbered lists at the bottom, but for 50$ it's way too buggy and clunky and it doesn't have iPad compatibility. Hook us up you're on the right track.👍

Good But still has bugs. iPad 12.9 no font to comment below? Invisible

The ap has no fonts when I comment while using StagePlotGuru main page. It’s invisible. Came to the main apps download page to finish my comments.
Please make the input page so we can sort the mics monitors & DI’s together. That’s the area for all the typing the description and channels and note.
Also when I try to print the stage layout shifts and is no longer centered on the print preview page. This is frustrating to try and re-center all your layouts. Please make the stage area floor white as an option or just all white background. Would like to see more the stage than the comments taking up a lot of space above the stage plot.
Using green or gray as a stage color uses much more ink when printing many copies.
Seems a lot of drums percussion items like StagePlotGuru was made by a drummer, needs more items like quad box outlets for power, more amp selection in the rigs and monitor choices, speakers used. Also more angles for keyboard set up maybe 4k degrees angles.
It’s a good starting point but maybe also just a page for the stage without as much font above it would be good 👍🏽 I think this ap is good because your not charging a weekly or monthly rate to customer or even a yearly price is the main reason I bought the ap.

***UPDATE***

After the developers realized the issue of not being able to export, they’ve fixed the issue. I still stand by what I said, there isn’t a better app out there. I’ve used StagePlotGuru for years and hope they continue to support StagePlotGuru.

Easy, professional, beautiful stage plots.

A stage plot is literally a diagram of what your onstage setup looks like and the relative location of where everything on that stage should be.

Your stage plot should be as specific as possible, and StagePlot Guru is packed with features that make that possible. Does the drum set need to be stage right instead of behind the band? Does your keyboard player only set up facing a certain direction? Make sure your stage plot includes that. The locations of vocal mics, amplifiers, preferred monitor locations, and where you need outlets should all be clearly indicated and labeled.

The stage plot can also be a good place to have notes about some general monitor mixes, what certain members want in their mixes, or if they don't need certain elements in a mix at all. The notes feature allows smooth communication.

For all you drummers out there, letting your sound tech know how many pieces are in your kit is also great info to have ahead of time to plan accordingly and can save headaches the day of the show. It's also helpful to know if your amp has a direct out or if you need a DI box placed somewhere. Equipment and input lists easily take care of these.

Almost Perfect

Love StagePlotGuru. Professional fairly easy. Helps you communicate your set-up and leaves no room for screw ups. I use to draw (poorly) my stage plots and was always embarrassed at the results. And I can actually draw! But I look like the pros, now. And I feel like I look better. And smell better. And I’m taller.

Thx for this

Professional, complete, easy to use

I would give StagePlotGuru 6 stars because the support is the best and most professional of any I use. They understand that we can't wait around 4 days for an answer when a venue needs a plot NOW. That said, once you get running, StagePlot Guru is incredibly simple and complete. And the "props" are actually fun to play with. 6 stars!
