TotalReader - ePub, DjVu, MOBI, FB2 Reader Reviews

This is the only reader I have found which is able to read ePub, PDF, and CBZ/R files which scales images appropriately in PDFs. I would like some refinements to the visuals of the file manager, and perhaps the ability to edit metadata such as title, tags, and authors of files, but am very pleased with TotalReader , overall. It allows for bulk import from my network drives, which is something that no other ePub and PDF reader allows, and only one or two comic readers allow for.

I like to read when I have short break and while I do read some books on iPhone I also have kindle books that I can now also read on my phone (I used to love a Samsung phone but now using an iPhone). No trouble with pdf or Mobi format. Minor annoyance with pop up ad on every few closure of title, but still quite a good reader that I can recommend if you want to read other than ePub on an iPhone or iPad.

I'm really happy that I can open several document formats with TotalReader. It's definitely worth it, the only 2 things that I can complain about are, 1) documents a bit hard to organize in folders and 2) can't ignore document copies, if I open the exact same document twice from a browser in TotalReader , I'll end up with 2 copies of the same document using space in my device.

I only use TotalReader for basic reading functions, but it handles enormous files with no problems and I haven’t encountered any bugs so far. Ads in the free version are annoying and come up almost every time you bring up the reading menu, but that’s the price of free stuff. Most of them are easy to close after a few seconds.

After trying out a few other readers for comic book CBR files, this was the first one that let me rotate to landscape to see two pages at a time – nice for certain two page spreads. Have been happily using it ever since. My only gripe is that after using it for a while it forced me to come to this rating page. All right then, 4 stars it is.

I needed a hassle free, simple epub reader. I found this in TotalReader Store which is what I usually do, however I may have to download several apps before I find one I like, and can use effortlessly. That is what I found with Total Reader. I like TotalReader . I am not blown away by it. But it is, simple, easy to use, and hassle free. I'd recommend TotalReader to anyone looking for a free epub reader.

Paid for premium because the ads were super annoying but I love the interface and the general feel of reading with TotalReader. It’s very close to the native Kindle Fire book reader app, which I was previously used to. The native iOS app is horrid. But this app made my iPad become a library once again.

I don’t usually give reviews but TotalReader is pretty good so I thought “ hey, might as well.” Anyway I like how there is a dark mode so I can read at night without being blinded. There are some ads here and there looking at the big picture though, it’s pretty good

Got addicted to DjVu files and TotalReader provides perfect support for reading such files on iPad. Nothing to complain so far. I am not sure about how often I can use the WiFi transfer, but I won't mind paying once to get that right forever.

Works as it should. Includes several useful settings and is easy to use. I love the text-to-speech tool and I'm glad the voice's speed is adjustable, which is incredibly nice.

And, pro tip:
Put phone in airplane mode to avoid ads.

I’ve found so many bugs. Most of the libraries fail for various reasons. OneDrive says it links but then won’t open — no longer supported? Even the menu option to list other apps for the developer fails. Last update 3 years ago. PocketBook seems nice, no fails so far, doesn’t have the unnecessary features.

This is certainly a great choice. I'm using the free version and have certainly enjoyed the eek experience so far.
Very limited ads and little to no clutter on screen enables a smooth user experience.

Reads all major book formats. Not quite as fluid as iBooks, Adobe, and such. Doesn’t cost as much and works on multiple platforms. It allows me to keep a subject library composed of works in different formats in one place. Cool!

Extremely good app for reading documents in different formats. Unfortunately ads are extremely annoying in basic version.

I been using this for reading .djvu format n simple and a must for ebook reader. Not a stand alone but along with 2 other apps my reading experience can be said complete on iPad.

I love it except when reading books it always tells me “right double quotation. Mark” when there is one in the text. That would be a good update.

This is a handy tool allowing me to read books again. I m down to one working eye, and now I need Readers that allow night views.

Text books available for download how are often in formats that standard programs will not open. this app does the job when other programs cannot.

I understand that this is a free app, however the amount of ads is ridiculous. I can't get through 2 pages of a book without seeing at least 3-4 ads. Also many times the x button to close the ads doesn't work, so I'm forced to restart TotalReader to continue reading. Totally useless.

Fantastic, really easy to use. Can adjust text size, spacing, alignment, margins, etc. on a very large number of formats. I don’t think you can zoom, though, so reading graphic novels can be a challenge. It’s quite a good reader overall, easier to use than iBooks or Kindle.
If you’re willing to pay $7, just buy the premium version. The ads will appear every other time you try to access the reading menu.
