KyBook - EPub,FB2,PDF,DjVu Reader Reviews

This is one of my favorite reading apps (I'm still trying to settle on one I use 100% of the time, but this is the one I use most frequently). It has nice options and customizability. I wish it had more background color options and page turning options like Marvin, but overall it's a great app. The most common complaint I saw in the reviews was about ads running at the bottom of the screen, but I paid the couple of dollars to upgrade to the Pro version and there are no adds at all, so that seems like a stupid thing to complain about. I never use the free version of a reading app because the ads are annoying and take you out of the the reading experience. So if you get KyBook pay for the upgrade -- it's worth it (I got it on sale for $1.99 -- definitely money well spent and cheaper than other apps like Marvin).

And so far KyBook has done it. It took time to learn & become accustomed to, but the more I used it the better I liked it. I love that I can password lock either individual books or a whole folder. One thing that I do have trouble with is the fact that on my iPad I have the pro version I bought, but when I downloaded KyBook to my phone it looks like I'll have to pay again to get the pro version there. It seems to me that if I buy the pro version I should only have to pay for it once & have the ability to access it on all devices. I'm hoping this is just a glitch or I'm missing something. Aside from that I love KyBook & I'm thrilled to have found a replacement for iBooks.

This is the very best cbr app I've used on my iPhone & iPad. It's great for epubs too. You can pull content from your device, cloud storage, web libraries (Gutenberg, Google Books, etc.) & memory card storage devices like Leef iBridge. The only complaint I have is that KyBook doesn't auto zoom on comics when you turn the device landscape. That said, pinch in/out function works perfect, especially on smaller screens like iPhone. I don't usually buy "in-app purchases," but be sure to flip the four bucks for the Pro version. The ebook speed reading & summarization functions are totally awesome. Plus no more ads.

Great app, only needs to support more formats and easy access to main root when you are in the sub folders, because every time you are in sub folders and want to go back to the main root you have to go to the main menu, not just a folder before

I am giving KyBook 5 stars, but I’m giving KyBook ’s developer TWO STARS, because you all don’t answer emails and that is a negative as far as I am concerned. I finally figure it out myself. Now I would like to see that there can be someway to mark your notes with colors. That would be fantastic. Since I had to also take the time to keep trying until I could learn how to fine the different colors. Is there a way to underline in different colors lines. That would be grrrreeeaaat.

Compared to many e-readers, KyBook has the most options. I enjoy changing the theme to dark mode and custom themes and KyBook has easier editing of themes than this app 2 and 3. The speed reader is missing on this app 2 and 3, and editing theme is glitchy on this app 3. If this app 3 could add speed reading and easier theme editing along with the text to speech, I would be happy to pay for the full upgrade. As is this app 1 has all the features I need and I will upgrade this one when the trial is over.

...but has sadly falling out of favor. The advertising now impedes heavily on what limited reading space I have on the screen of a Mini 4. I'd much rather revert to the pop-ups - they weren't constantly showing up at a rate that detracted from reading. Sad to say that for years, I thought I'd found the one eBook app I'll ever use, but this huge ad that's inconveniently splashed across the bottom, especially in landscape mode with all that wasted, unused space - I'm finding it too distracting to be tolerable in recent versions 😢

Would love to see network/SMB access again as well.

I've used and loved KyBook for years however when I upgraded to an iPhone 11, suddenly the text to speech function no longer works properly.... I can make it work on the newest this app 3 but I don't find that as user friendly as this original one.

Great great app, offers many technical features for those that will use it and the tech inclined. The library and organization capabilities KyBook offers trumps every other app I've seen. Being able to push and sync with dropbox is amazing, and I love how everything is so customizable. Tor capability is a nice addition. The pro upgrade is a cheap investment for how solid KyBook is.

I love it! this app has lived up to my expectations & beyond. I use it daily for my schoolwork & it's 1000 times better than Adobe Reader could ever dream to be. It reads every format I throw at it & performs excellently. Highly recommend! You won't be sorry, pay for it, it's priced right & even better! Thanx for the software! Awesome!

Getting things downloaded to iPhone is a chore. One of the most important distinction of this software that it has built in web browser. The software does not stop there. The list of the supported formats is amazing as well. This software is my favorite audio book reader.

One nasty bug that I want to mention is that when you re open software after long period of inactivity it can reset to the beginning of previous listening session.

Web browser as well can handle downloads from some html5 pages

But overall the software is so useful that I can not remove the star...

This is the reading app I'm most comfortable with. It supports different formats such as pdf, djvu, epub, etc. And there are many features you can customize such as size and background color. It does everything one needs in a reading app without gimmicks. I highly recommend it.

I use it reading daily with the books I downloaded. It supports most formats of ebooks. It's very easy to push the icon and start KyBook to have an immersive reading. Even if there's a banner ads at the bottom of the screen, it will not distract me from reading. The verdict is that: I love KyBook.

I have all 3 versions of this app and in my opinion the original is the best. Easy and intuitive to navigate. Simple to create and even password protect individual folders. I have also tried countless other eBook readers from other developers in KyBook Store but I keep returning to this one! Simply the best!

Best thing since the South lost the Civil War. Love this thing. Gonna name my first two children Ky and Book respectively just for this compilation of 1s and 0s. The architects of this program should be promoted to generals in the new Space Force (and with the current administration, there’s a solid chance that’s exactly what will happen).

KyBook gives the option to connect to Google Drive, but always gives an error instead of letting me sign in. It says "Error: disallowed_useragent
This user-agent is not permitted to make an OAuth authorization request to Google as it is classified as an embedded user-agent (also known as a web-view). Per our policy, only browsers are permitted to make authorization requests to Google. We offer several libraries and samples for native apps to perform authorization requests in the browser."

So many pertinent things to understanding synchronization are unclear. I am aiming to be able to move between my phone and my tablet with my places still saved and I paid for the premium since I couldn’t find a way to make that happen. No improvement and the “contact us” is also disabled. Would love to say that I love it but it really isn’t user friendly. Guess I’ll be looking for something else.

KyBook is great. As I have particular application functionality I compare this with other apps and I learn two things: KyBook does more than I knew at the start and other like apps don't compare. Thank you for KyBook :-)

Reader itself is very good, rendering is nice, espfor DJVU. It lacks some nice features found in, e.g., GoodReader, like simpler filename and file organization and page annotations. If it had those, I would drop GoodReader.

I just selected this app after trying several other readers. It’s been a very useful app so far, decently customizable. Paging through the books is also user-friendly. It loads book very conveniently.
