Potential

It looks like BeautyKeeper doesn’t have support from reading some reviews which is a big negative, some people saying they paid but are having issue or they can’t trust the expiration dates given. I didn’t know you got only 10 items till you had to pay but ok but it seems like quite a few brands are missing, having trouble when I put in some of the codes system error. Anyway I think BeautyKeeper would be great if they kept adding brands,I was able to put in all my items, manually takes forever if possible to go by scanning barcode that the item pops up but I have so many samples right now too that BeautyKeeper would be great to keep track of everything. Add more brands, perhaps a scanner, would be great to have the option to notify you prior to expiration for example my samples some of them have expiration dates would like to put those in&get a 3month notification before they expire(unless the option is there&i missed it). This is perfect for someone that gets the skincare boxes with samples&ends up with 30 because of course I’d like to use them prior¬ all have expiration dates on them so if were able to use the batch code&pull it up it would be great for those sample&full size product buyers like myself.

Great concept but can’t find anything

I love makeup and skincare plus couponing and doing reviews. Mix those things together and you end up with A LOT of product. When I saw the information for BeautyKeeper in an article I read, I loved the concept! I was just about to purge everything and donate to a bunch of different shelters. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t give away anything expired. After an hour of trying to look up products, I had yet to even find one. I can see some products not being listed but at this point I had tried to look up at least 100 different items. I kept BeautyKeeper for a few weeks to keep trying and I still haven’t been able to locate even one product.

I think this is one of the best app ideas I have seen in awhile. I do hope there are some updates in the future so I am able to use it but for the time being, I am going to delete for extra space on my phone.

Missing brands and lacks organizational features

The premise of BeautyKeeper is good. I’m glad I have it. However, it is missing some major brands, such as Colourpop, Tarte, Huda Beauty, etc. Would love to see major makeup brands added.

I wish that there was a way to collapse categories so you don’t have to view them. For example, if I want to look at skincare, I have to scroll through every single makeup product I entered. I wish I could collapse that category for efficiency.

I also wish there was a way to sort within a category for expiration dates. I subscribe to a couple of major subscription boxes, which means I have skincare galore in backups. I wish I could see what moisturizer/serum/eye cream was going to expire next so that I know to use that one next when I use one up.

It would be nice if there was an empties or trash category too. If you have to through away a foundation because it expired (for example) I wish it let you save it somewhere so you could get the shade/finish again. But that is small potatoes compared to other features it’s lacking.

The premise of BeautyKeeper is great. It’s just missing features that seem like the next logical step after entering.

Convenient but can use more brands

I just started to declutter my makeup collection and I realized many Too Faced products that I own are sold within a year that is it going to expire. Probably not purchasing from them anymore. But it would be great to have brands like Tarte Cosmetics, Becca, Cover FX, Glossier, Bite Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics, Hourglass, and maybe even Duo for us to know when your eyelash glues are expiring! After using BeautyKeeper I had to throw out quite a few products from my collection which is refreshing, but sad to see them go. I recommend including brands that Sephora/Ulta would carry into BeautyKeeper.

This app is what I needed!

I was originally only want to search for expire date and I am glad to see the expired date. It can even let you choose if you open today, what’s the suggested expiration! And I can even add that search to my list!!! That’s really helpful! Love this!

The only thing is some of the Korean big brands that can be bought from Sephora is not in the system but most of the US or European brand I am able to find it. Hope in the future can add more Korean or Japanese brands, e.g. belif, Dr. Jart, etc.

Overall, I really love BeautyKeeper!

Was wonderful while it worked

I’ve used BeautyKeeper for a year or 2 & loved it. Suddenly it doesn’t work anymore. To be sure it wasn’t just the new batch codes I was trying to check I went ahead and checked some that went through just fine 2 weeks earlier. Those wouldn’t work either. Internal error no matter what I did. In uninstalled BeautyKeeper & reinstalled it. No good. I guess BeautyKeeper is no longer supported. I actually paid for this one, so I’m really sad about it.

Needs more brands, but good for decluttering/shopping

I like the general idea of BeautyKeeper, however there are not enough makeup brands. Many of the very popular high end brands, like tarte, kvd beauty, colour pop, first aid beauty, etc. are not on BeautyKeeper. I noticed after reading other reviews people have been saying this for years, so I’m assuming they don’t have intentions on adding anymore brands.

Other than that, BeautyKeeper is great for decluttering your makeup collection, and I’ve heard people use it when buying makeup from stores like TJ Maxx or Marshall’s to make sure the makeup there isn’t expired! I’d recommend to others, just needs some improvement.

Saved me from buying 8 yrs old makeup

I love BeautyKeeper, I’ve bought a few things & then to received it & it smells old & then seller argued with me,saying it’s not old, well now I can check & I was just gonna buy a benefit kit from a seller & when I checked w/beauty finder it was produced 8 years ago & said it was best before 5 years ago. I was shocked but happy to have BeautyKeeper. It saved me from spending money on old makeup& an uncomfortable interaction w/the seller. Thanks so much. This is 5 stars to me & 5 thumbs up🤗

Good App, needs updating with brands and categories

This is a great app to keep track of your beauty products. I’ve started using BeautyKeeper for my skincare and it’s helped me realize I’m not good at keeping track of dates. The reason I’ve given it four stars is due to the lack of brands as well as a few categories I think should already be included. Thankfully there is an option to add brands and categories but I’m also not the first person to mention this in a review so they really need to work on this suggestion (it may be costing them subscribers)

Great app missing brands

BeautyKeeper works wonders I was wondering why my face was breaking out all the time(I was new to makeup then)and didn’t realize makeup expired 🤯 most of my collection had gone bad some as long as 5years because I was givin it now that I’m super into makeup and I’m older I like keeping up with the expiration dates but I’ve noticed I’ve been able to find 99% of the brands I’m looking for and the one I’m most upset about not finding is Morphe! Can you please add more brands we would all appreciate it!!

Excellent reference tool

Perfect to keep track of your beauty products with expiration dates. I gave it 4 stars only because not all brands I use are included yet. But I own plenty of products from the ones that are included, so it has turned out a really good tool to use. Maybe as a future update rolls out, include a button to mark that a product is completely used up but keep it in our list as a reference for future purchases? Just an idea :)

Best Spent Money

I have tons of beauty products, and try to stick to their expiration date but always fail. This is by far the best app I’ve experienced, and totally worth the money. They have so many different brand options, but my favorite part is you can add a brand if they don’t have it. I use a lot of smaller clean beauty companies, and being able to add it to make it easier for next time is a life saver.

Great concept, but not enough natural brands!

I try hard not to be a product junkie, but not very successfully. BeautyKeeper helps me keep track of what I have so as not to purchase too many duplicates. I love that I can readily check the expiration dates so that my products are fresh. However, I tend to prefer natural products and bery few of these companies are included in the database. For example, where is Pacifica, Gabriel Cosmetics, Red Apple Lipsticks, etc? I am hoping that more companies will be addded soon.

Need stock pictures and better iPad interface...

As another user said, the developer needs to add more brands.

I paid $1.99 for this because it is the only app that I found which can record both the “open date” and expiration date. However, it is lacking a few important features compared to many FREE apps and websites:

1. It would be nice to have the product image loaded automatically once an item is added - something similar to Skintime Skincare Organizer. It is too time consuming to have to search, screenshot, and upload a picture for every item.

2. The apps is made compatible with iPhones and iPads, but the interface is not optimized for iPad users. Again, something like Skintime Skincare Organizer or Shelfie Skincare Routine would appeal to more users.

3. Need to add more brands. As of right now, the list is somewhat limited compared to other free apps and sites.

Great app, needs a few more brands added

I love BeautyKeeper so much! I use lots of different products but sometimes some get pushed to the back and forgotten about. BeautyKeeper helps me keep track of what brands I use, when I bought it, and when it’s going to expire. I just wish Rare Beauty was in BeautyKeeper. I use a few of their products but they are not in BeautyKeeper’s system yet so it makes it hard.

Keeps accurate log. Needs more brands.

I like the reminder feature, especially now when I’m not wearing makeup as frequently. It had helped me know long it takes to use things vs how long they are good for. They have a decent number of brands but I still have products I have to enter myself bc the brand is supported.

Worth the Upgrade

I love the ease of searching batch codes, adding products, and the streamlined look of BeautyKeeper . In the future I would love to be able to take notes on a product and/or rate products in addition to adding a photo, so that when it does come time to replace I have a better idea as to whether or not I want to repurchase the product or go a different route.

Easy to use and convenient

I’ve collected so many beauty products from different subscriptions, free sample, and just items I love to use. I like that BeautyKeeper keeps inventory of my products, including when they expire so I know exactly what needs to be replaced. Very convenient and helped me get rid of older products.

Incorrect product information

I just purchased a new lipstick from Too Face new beauty collection called Fairy Tears. It’s new. The collection was just released. When I tried to add it to the beauty keeper app it was coming up that it expired in 2014. I also have a Clinique set that Beauty keeper says is expired but on another website says it’s still good. I actually purchased BeautyKeeper so I can keep all my beauty products up to date. I don’t trust BeautyKeeper. It gives wrong information. BeautyKeeper obviously isn’t correct. They should fix this. I am disappointed.

Good app!

Makes it super easy to keep track of makeup - its good to know that the products you are using are within their shelf life! I feel more confident bc I am taking care of my skin and the products are used the way they are intended.

Its also really helpful to be able to look up the batch codes and take pictures - lots of very useful features!

More user-friendly functions pls!

I have been looking for an app to inventory my beauty products, this one is the best so far. Please consider the following improvements:
- create headings for different sorting options, for example, when I sort by brand, I’d like to see a heading (bold or with different color shading) for the brand. Similarly, for sorting by type.
- Allow duplicating
- Allow quantity entry

Great tool

This is such a gem to have with so many products that you can’t see an actual expiration date but most are coded and when you purchase products from a discounted retailer it greatly helps so you know what you are actually getting and not something old. I noticed on some of the brands BeautyKeeper is not letting check the codes anymore now they want you to pay $1.99
But before you could check anything so this p
why I went from 4 stars to three stars because of that.

Love the minimalist design

Perfect for tracking my skincare and beauty products, as I tend to overbuy during sales. I wish the navigation could allow for different view (e.g picture icons over list) and also would like the expiration UPC list to be updated. Would also be nice to look up a product using a barcode instead of manually typing it in.

Helpful ... But

Through this application you can recognize the production date and expiration date of most of perfumes and cosmetics
Only the negative point the application not including all cosmetics and perfumes brands
In additional the application all over need some improvements

It’s like planner and list all in one

It reminds you of when your product expires and keeps track of what you’ve inputed. I’ve only had BeautyKeeper for a few months and I enjoy it. There aren’t annoying ads and the layout is very clean and sleek.

Totally worth it

There are a few brands they don’t have, but by & large BeautyKeeper has been worth the money spent. I spent the $1.99 for unlimited use. I buy a lot of makeup & skin care, and if shipping closeout places like TJ Maxx this is invaluable as many items at TJ Maxx are expired or very close to it. I love BeautyKeeper. It’s so easy to use.

Great App for organizing makeup

BeautyKeeper is great in helping me keep track of all my makeup so I don’t buy duplicates. I wish that it had a system that would automatically populate the pictures of the product from the website or internet. Apart from that I love it!!
