TheHinduNews itself has evolved significantly since the first time I have started using it to be better in terms of navigation and content presentation.

However, one very nagging thing is the display of ads. I understand it is necessary to make money, but almost all the articles I have attempted to read the first time will have the advertisement displayed over the actual content making it useless and extremely annoying when reading.

For avid readers, it may be a good idea provide an interactive version of the crossword.

Dear The Hindu team, I tremendously value this newspaper and is usually one of the only online news source I read most of the days, despite your opinion tilt often to the left. But I enjoy it thoroughly.

However TheHinduNews I am beginning to get tired with your impunity for dishing out too many Trump ads which we have to watch forcefully for at least 5-10 seconds.

In addition if we go out of TheHinduNews to check something else in my iPhone, it already looses its context coming back into TheHinduNews forcing us back to the home screen. How do you feel if someone yanks out the bookmark from a 500 page book you are reading every single time?

Hope you sincerely take these comments to improve your app and the experience.

We may be able to live with lots other issues, but these two issues are becoming downright annoying, which is the reason for the one star rating.

Used to like TheHinduNews in the beginning but slowly the number of ads started increasing. Making money through ads is important but remember the saying “ Too many cooks spoil the broth”. I hope my intention was clear. Above all, TheHinduNews started crashing more frequently which is really frustrating. Fix required at the earliest.

The newspaper is quite renowned with a good coverage. However, all the benefits of reading good news are wasted when one has to deal with frequent ads which the reader in no way can avoid.

Unlike other newspaper apps, opening an article on Hindu means there may be a display ad with around 15-20 seconds in full volume. This is one of the most irritating part of TheHinduNews . This is on the reason that I altogether avoid it and prefer other apps over it where ad choices are more user friendly and not gagged down on the users.

I am really gaining insight from the few articles I have read so far in your newspaper. I believe I am reading the work of actual journalists for the first time in years! At this time in America, it is a challenge to find simple undiluted facts and it appears that I am finding this here. Good work.

This is one of the worst news apps. App would crash randomly or would give alerts that app is offline.
App reloads between switching apps: if you are reading an article then you get a call or open any other app and when you come back to hindu app it refreshes TheHinduNews and I’m taken back to homepage.
Irritating Ads: every article you open it displays 10 seconds ad. So annoying. You guys can do better than this.

Really sad to see such a reputed newspaper with crappy app. Shame on developers.

We need the words and news more and it is what the hindu does the best. Who cares what the graphics are. Some of these ignorant people dont know how to rate things. Dont go on visuals everytime because TheHinduNews is better at news than other apps like toi who focuses only on news which is controversial. TheHinduNews deserves better rating than there are here.

The new subscription based login is very buggy.
1. It doesn’t login even with correct credentials-you have to reset password using forgot password
2. Once you finally manage to login, and close TheHinduNews , it asks to login again. Login credentials are not retained even for the next time you open TheHinduNews again

It is quite frustrating to go through the process . Request to solve login issues!

Excellent app. Especially after TheHinduNews was updated on removing full screen intrusive ads after opening each article for paid subscribers. Thanks for fixing that!

I depend on Hindu to provide relevant news. Unlike some of its counterparts, Hindu does not focus on controversial news that is meant only to capture eyeballs. Very surprised by the low star rating of th app. Suggest Hindu management look into making TheHinduNews stable and visible to its avid paper readers who may no longer have access to newspapers I.e. people living overseas

I have been reading the Hindu for the last 15 odd years and the news is always great. However TheHinduNews is two steps away from being a disaster, the ads are the worse. Triggering an ad causes TheHinduNews to crash, please make a monthly subscription and to remove the ads and the unrelated and stupid clickbait stuff.

I like the Hindu and pay a premium . TheHinduNews closes off right after I click on a article . I have to reopen TheHinduNews and again click on it …

Really bad user interface. The scrolling is slow and the screen keeps getting stuck often. You cannot have music on while reading the news. Every time you open a news article, the music will stop because this Hindu app has an annoying feature to read out the news loud, which you cannot turn off.

Have been a great fan and a reader of The Hindu for several years now. Trying to use the mobile app as it’s convenient during commutes.

But the ads are extremely annoying. Please figure out a different business model or structure for ads delivery. The current experience would chase the users out of using TheHinduNews.

Reading news in phone works good but when we try to read them in ipad the screen width doesn’t get updated and it still shows only mobile screen view.

Although TheHinduNews is fine, the navigation bar is hidden in iphone X which causes me to close TheHinduNews to go back to home page if I want to read any more articles. Would appreciate if it is fixed.

Why would anyone pay to reading news when it’s available free in a place called internet... wake up guys it’s the 21st century ... don’t apply 20th century business models to 21st... I don’t mind the ads but I am not paying to read news

TheHinduNews is not responding right way. On opening the application is my iPhone 7, it is auto closing. I am not sure if something wrong with TheHinduNews . I tried more than 20 times to open even killed the application number of times.

It’s my Favorite news source. What I don’t like
A terrible interface look like it’s made by high school kids for their app development project.
I don’t like manoramma but they have the best interface compare to any other news sources in India.

Too many intrusive ads have made me move away from the Hindu which was something that I have been stuck too for the last 25 years... am deleting TheHinduNews right away, not worth my time!
