Full of bugs and lacks features

I’ve been a Suntrust business and personal customer for over 30 years. I’ve been waiting for Suntrust to have a fully functional business mobile app for years and can confirm that the iOS business mobile app is a very poor example of a banking app. SunTrustBusiness freezes often and crashes, kicking you out back to your desktop. It does Not have fingerprint authentication. It also does not allow for mobile check deposit. The bill-pay feature locks up often. The only features that I use SunTrustBusiness for is to check my account balance and view my line transactions. You cannot use Zelle to transmit funds to another Zelle user but you Can receive Zelle fund transfers.

Suntrust customer service told me today that they will have a new mobile app once the Suntrust/ BB&T merger is complete. They could not tell me when the new app was going to be released but then, I’ve been told for a few years, that Suntrust was going to have a working business app with mobile deposit for the past few years.




Terrible app that doesn’t sync with desktop site

Wow, I see why everyone is so irritated. I have spent the past hour and a half trying to login to my account. It keeps telling me that my credentials are incorrect and finally it’s instructing me to call Suntrust to unlock my account since mine has been restricted due to multiple attempts app log ins. So, now I am waiting on hold where the it is saying the hold time is a “minimum of 25 minutes.” Awesome. I’ve used PNC for all of my other business accounts and it is fairly seamless. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as BoA, but they are local and have been good to us. I only joined Suntrust because they were the closest bank to my other business where I needed a smaller account for petty cash and small deposits. Needless to say, I am so frustrated with SunTrustBusiness and Suntrust’s lack of care for all of these terrible reviews that I am going to switch over to PNC or BoA, even if they are a few more miles away. Really disappointing, Suntrust.




Don't bother...Useless!

I agree with the other reviews that say SunTrustBusiness is not functional and useless. I downloaded the Online cash manager today and couldn't login! Kept saying login credentials were wrong but they mysteriously worked on my laptop? ST does not even have the curtesy of giving the correct error notice which would be -a crappy sub-par app build! Suntrust makes banking extremely strenuous. In all my years banking with them i have never had them ease and convenience afforded by their counterparts such as chase boa, be it transacting in a branch via phone or online. I understand the need to secure our accounts (as is their staple excuse for every mishap) but their mobile apps, regular & cash manager are so buggy i can't help but begin to fear for the safety of my finances. there are better full service banks out there yet, Suntrust continually disappoints! I'm entirely done with this tedious tasking POS banking relationship all together.




Functional (some of the time)

I own multiple businesses and I use SunTrustBusiness very heavily. I read some of the reviews about people not able to login and I had the same issue. When I went to the SunTrust branch to find out what the problem was, they told me that you have to log in from a regular computer and enable mobile access in the settings. I did this and then was able to log in on my tablet and phone. I am not sure why this feature is off by default or that this setting is not blatantly obvious to find. SunTrustBusiness and site also look and feel like they were designed in the late 90s when the internet first became popular. It is not very user friendly and is down about 10% of the time. This is definitely in need of a serious update but it does the job I guess.




Poor design, poor service

When I log in to the account, about 80% of the time it shows balance not available. When it does work, you can only transfer to and from some accounts. You cannot transfer funds to pay for the business credit card. You cannot do mobile deposits. I’ve spent numerous hours at the local branch and online support getting personal and business accounts to show up on SunTrustBusiness. I had to ask for a supervisor twice because the rep couldn’t answer questions. I would highly recommend you set up a business account at a different bank unless you like to use paper. I would never set up an acct through Suntrust. I’ll be taking my business and personal accounts elsewhere.




Worst Application Yet Available

I’ve been with SunTrust for over 20 years. Their Personal Banking Application is great. I have nothing to complain about there. On the other hand the Business Application “Cash Manager” is probably one of the worst applications that I’ve used today and is dragging Suntrust’s reputation down with it. What makes matters worse is the fact that technical customer service at the business account side do not have full access to the Cash Manager platform in order to support their customers. As a customer, you are forced to wait 24 to 48 hours “if you are lucky” to get a reset email forcing you to create a new account. If SunTrust does not do something about this horrible application they risk losing more Business Accounts.




Archaic app

I just incorporate my business which means I got pushed from online banking into cash manager. What a huge disappointment! No face ID login, no mobile deposits, can not see pending transactions, can not see cancelled check or deposit images. I had to keep my old proprietorship account open just so I can make mobile deposits in the old online banking app then switch over to the cash manager app to transfer the funds to my Corp account. Plus, now that my old proprietorship account balance is less than $1,000, I have the privilege of paying monthly service charges. I have been banking with SunTrust for 19 years but if I continue to be forced into this unmanagebless arrangement i will have no choice but to switch banks.




Poor customer service

Wow, does SunTrust even read these reviews? You cannot log into SunTrustBusiness until you enable mobile access from a computer. That would be okay if you ACTUALLY HAD INFORMATION IN SunTrustBusiness ON HOW TO DO THAT! For crying out loud, would it kill you to write instructions instead of making me call your almost worthless customer service? It would be a simple paragraph: log into your OCM on a desktop, go to administration and click on your user ID. Check "enable mobile access". It's not that hard I don't know why it can't be explained in SunTrustBusiness . Your poor customer experience makes me want to stay away from any SunTrust account for personal accounts. You really need to try a little harder.




Useless, Abandoned App, Can't Even Do Mobile Deposits

SunTrustBusiness has been ignored for ages while continual improvements are made to the personal app. It's 2017 and you still can't even deposit a check to your business account with SunTrustBusiness. You also can't even move funds from your business line of credit. SunTrust now makes you do line of credit transfers by phone instead for that authentic 1980s feel. This fits the look of the UI which is horrible. Just another example of banks ignoring technology for business accounts. The bank industry desperately needs outsiders to come in and disrupt things. It appears clear banks don't see the business case to better support business accounts with technology.




Good bank, horrible app, bad enough to switch banks

Here I am on a Sunday afternoon having to get in my car to go up and do a deposit at my nearest SunTrust ATM. This is incredibly frustrating that a bank that has this much business customers in Georgia has this awful of an app. In addition to the online app being outdated the web login doesn’t allow me to Electronically connect my SunTrust personal account so I could make a mobile deposit on the consumer app and then transfer the funds into my business account. Even if they did allow this, this causes a lot of yellow flags when filing for taxes when I have to explain why I am mixing personal and business cash. Time to move to another bank.




Was enough to make me switch banks personal & business

After calling suntrust multiple times & after several attempts to login, SunTrustBusiness was enough to make me switch banks. Personal & business. After being lied to by customer service rep who said “if I went into a branch they could make my business account show up in my personal” I switched over. Suntrust has the worst customer service. SunTrustBusiness is sooooo old. You can see it hasn’t been updated in three years. Who would honestly trust putting their business in the hands of a bank who doesn’t even have a valid reason why SunTrustBusiness is trash. Switched to BOA.




Needs improvement

Fortunately, I didn’t have the login issue like many of the other reviewers (I set up mobile access when I set up my checking account at a local branch), but SunTrustBusiness itself is a bit problematic. It was taking quite a while to load my account info on any of the tabs (the first time, SunTrustBusiness errored out). Not sure if this is a backend issue or what, but SunTrustBusiness needs improvement if users are to access their accounts quickly and easily. The current functionality defeats the whole purpose of a mobile app. I also agree with other users that SunTrustBusiness design could be updated.




PATHETIC App!!!

Seriously, SunTrust. You guys can do better than this. Bank of America, Wells Fargo, BB&T, etc. all have great apps for their customers. SunTrustBusiness a trash. It hasn’t been updated in THREE years! Come on! I know some good mobile developers. Shall I send you guys their resumes?

UPDATE: It’s obvious that this bank does NOT care about its business customers. They just updated their personal banking app 6 days ago. Yet, it has been 3 YEARS since they have updated their business app. It’s time to close this account and give my business to a bank that cares enough about its business customers to take the time to build an updated and secure app.




Hopefully this will be better after the merger

1 - don’t expect to be able to deposit checks using SunTrustBusiness. It won’t do it.
2 - it will do a few useful things, but first you have to get it working:
- download SunTrustBusiness onto your device
- login to Suntrust Online Cash Manager on your desktop or laptop computer
- click the Administration tab. It will probably take you straight to Users. If not, mouse over Administration, mouse over User Entitlements, and click Manage Users.
- once you’re on the Users page, click on the User Name that you want to assign mobile privileges to
- halfway down the page see Mobile Activation Status disabled.
- click Activate
- click Save and Continue at the bottom of the page.
- you should now be able to login on your mobile device.
- but you still can’t make a deposit with your camera
- hopefully this will be addressed by the new merged bank...




Are you ignoring us?

Despite my complaints to Suntrust online, to my branch manager and here, it's as if SunTrust doesn't hear us!
YOU HAVE AN AVERAGE RATING OF ONE STAR, ONE STAR!!!!!!!
When I try to login on my IPhone via SunTrustBusiness , it works about 1/4 of the time and getting worse! I have to close SunTrustBusiness and try again, then that works about 1/2 the time!
Plus, despite a countless number of complaints on this forum and others, you still don't have the ability to deposit checks via a phone? Every bank has that including you for personal accounts!!!!! What in the world are you doing?
I guess I'm going to have to switch banks (a real pain in the a%*)!
