It’s getting there.

We have made the circuit from various off-the-shelf practice management systems and find that Cleo is the best by far. That being said they were still some flaws that need to be addressed.

The biggest flaw is that it is hard to get a 360° view of each file in an easy to use format. I am also disappointed in the fact that I cannot make some files to mirror myServer for documents. The same goes for email so I cannot put together sub files.

That being said I do enjoy the email in a Gratian and the ability to seamlessly work within QuickBooks as well as upload documents.

Responsive Support

A month ago I submitted to the support team a comment concerning the adding and editing of contact information in the newest version of Clio . Not only did they follow up by email to gather more information, but they informed me of plans to provide much of the functionality that I requested. As of now, Clio allows me to add and update contact information on the fly so that I am able to be more efficient and effective can avoid the necessity of taking notes that can be lost.

Not a satisfactory substitute for the web-based version

The mobile app has some annoying shortcomings. A prime example is filing emails from Outlook. On my MacBook Pro, I can directly file an email into this app from Outlook. You cannot do this VERY BASIC task in this app mobile. You have to create an email log and copy and paste the text from Outlook into the log, which is a very slow process and would require additional step in the authentication process to get it into evidence.

this app could also learn a lot from Fantastical by looking at their interface for creating events. this app’s is laborious by comparison. And it would be nice to have a default option of saving an event to a default shared calendar.

Not bad, but could be better

Not having access to things like trust account balances, invoices, and other financial info makes this a bit of a pain. If I open Clio to message a client, I should see their trust balance as I can see all their other information. I should be able to make a trust request, and at least send a message or notice of the need for funds, if not take payments via Clio . An awesome add-on wood be the ability to add documents by scanning or taking a photo using a mobile device or tablet, too. It’s useful, but could expand features to make it more productive.

Great Application

I think anyone who uses this app knows that this product is constantly changing and improving. This is also true for the website. I give 4 stars because there are many features which are missing from the mobile Application, but in true this app style, an update is most likely coming soon. Otherwise as solid 5 stars.

This Application will definitely help you work when stuck in traffic or somewhere you can’t use a laptop or tablet. It is truly a great tool. Keep up the great work this app

Clio Rocks!

It’s hands-down. There is no question about it, this app offers the best CRM software program for lawyers and law firms available today. And they have done just exactly that for many years. I should know because I have practiced law for over 30 years and used virtually all competitors to Clo. Take it from me there’s no comparison. Sign up with this app and you’ll be happy honest! Want to create a matter in the app!!!

I realize you took this function off…but then I need to buy a tablet, because the web app is not friendly on my phone. My husband has clients in every county of Nevada and we are on the road a lot (1k miles a week)! Consults are often from the road driving to court or on the weekends away from the office (1 lawyer, his wife, 2 employees)…I need to take money on he road. He even takes consults on our trips to Mexico!!! It can be difficult to get money from the client if you don’t get it right away upfront!!!

Missing some key functions

Clio is getting better, but there’s still a lot that essentially makes Clio useless to me(so I end up just using the desktop version on my computer anyways out of frustration). You can see a total outstanding balance under each matter, but that’s the only figure shown within Clio . It would be incredibly useful to be able to actually click that and see outstanding bills, payment history, etc. In general, there’s nothing you can view at all regarding billing in any capacity-which is what I need most.

Looked promising, ultimately a failure

I thought during the beta process this was a promising upgrade to the old app. ultimatley a complete failure... REMOVING CONTACT AND MATTER CREATION AND EDITING? SERIOUSLY? this is fundamental to Clio. and I can’t do it.. and to not include Siri shortcut integration or slide over on the iPad is a complete miss. I haven’t gotten further into it, because it just is not productive...

and no access if no internet? really? do you realize we use these devices at client’s houses or office, where we do not always have cell service, or access to WiFi?

can’t view invoices? why? just don’t feel like that might be handy while sitting in a client’s office?

Bad Update Old App was better

I was not a huge fan of the old app however the new app is wayyyyy worse. The calendar doesn’t work well unless you’re on the internet. Many of the courtroom that I’m in do not have internet or good cell service and so it’s become difficult to check my existing calendar when scheduling new dates. Overall The functional is not very user friendly which I’ve come to expect from this app. Great product overall but not user friendly and a lot of issues. Pretty good customer service but I don’t always have time to stop everything and call.

Very very useful

Use Clio a lot Both on my phone and iPad. It is so important to capture your work and this allows me to capture not just time but important notes and documents on the go. this app is absolutely invaluable. They are constantly making improvements.

Love it for the most part

For the most part it’s a great app. It makes time entry very easy. However, it can be difficult to use to add a client or edit a matter if you are on the run. So usually we wait until we are back to the office to add a client. I’d love to also see a better way to track or keep up with cases that need to be closed and billed. It seems they can get lost in the many clients listed.

By

Not User Friendly

Clio is very different from the physical website. Being able to check specifics like bills sent, trust account transaction, inputting or creating new invoices is nearly impossible on Clio and takes 4 times as long as it does on the website. Clio should better reflect the website in a sense that you can do billing on the go. Clio does not allow for mobility unless you are using a web browser.

Wanted so badly to love this

But I don’t.

The communications portal with clients is completely off. It’s inaccurate and confusing for both clients & attorneys. this app had such a great reputation, but the onboarding system and customer service are lacking terribly. I’ve been waiting nearly 5 weeks for simple onboarding. Promised calls never happen & I’ve been passed around so much, I just can’t justify the waste of time. Check out Zola Suite instead. Such a better interface & free onboarding. It’s everything I was hoping this app would be… but isn’t.

Love it

Clio keeps getting better all the time. The new version is a huge improvement over the previous one, and I thought that one was great too. Looking forward to some of the new features that are on Clio ’s improvement list too. this app has definitely simplified my life and enhanced my law practice.

Financial Data

This is a great program and app for my small law firm. I’ve used it for 6 years now. I only have two complaints - not being able to manipulate reports and not being able to see financial data in Clio . Otherwise, great product!!

By

Better than nothing but very clunky

Organization in the updated version is a little better, but this is still not a good app from a user standpoint. Data entry requires lots of extra taps that a better user interface observer would fix. Closed matters still show up as first choices over open ones when searching by name. It’s better than not having a mobile app at all, but this is still surprisingly bad from a company whose desktop version is so great.

By

Improved but still way behind

App is still way behind what you would expect from a legal practice management app. Many tasks require a desktop to get information. Clio is essentially a glorified time keeper that only connects single user contacts and calendar.
Suggestions: More speed, less lag; True swipe actions (not swipe and tap) Messaging function for client “portal” takes far too many taps to draft (email is still just easier) Tasks should be more like (or sync with) MS To Do or Asana

Lacks so much from web version

I love this app and give this app the product 5 out of 5. But Clio doesn’t give the same user friendly experience I’m used to. It suits the most basic uses for quick additions on the fly, but it is so limited from a search/browsing perspective. Trying to edit a contact brings you all the way back to the top and the ‘A’s. Very frustrating.

Suggested Feature

It would be great to be able to create subfolders in documents section on Clio . It’s great to upload straight from a Outlook email but if I’m uploading a document and there’s not already a folded created I cannot make it from the Mobil App.

Thanks

The new app is a GAMECHANGER!!!

These days it’s pretty rare that new tech actually changes my day to day work in any meaningful way but the new this app app has changed the way I work for the better! Especially for iPhone users it’s a whole new world. When I work remotely everything is faster. When I’m in the office, the ability to easily dictate notes has me turning to my phone out of convenience even with two monitors in front of me. Not only has it saved me time but it has also saved my paralegals time as I am not texting them from the road asking them to look up things for me. If I take a call on my way to hearing logging my activity takes just moments on Clio instead of waiting till I got back to the office.

This new app represents one of those rare but wonderful examples of a company actually listening to their customers and redesigning with the customers needs and wants at the forefront.

Bill link is gone and can’t view documents on an iPhone in landscape

I can no longer see the balance due on a client’s bill like I could in the previous version of Clio . Clients regularly ask what their balance is when we are at court, i.e., out of my office. Now I cannot answer that question. Very disappointing.

Another issue is that on the iPhone you cannot rotate the phone to view a document in landscape vs. portrait, to make viewing the document easier.

By

Slow and unfriendly interface

Unfortunately a slow and hard to use interface. Not very mobile or fun to use. It works though, but even the web app is quicker.

Thanks for including a decimal mode. But it can’t be utilized because there is no punctuation mark on the number keyboard... Only decimal, and the decimal can’t be used. Really? Has it even been tested?

this app, you now have a lot of money. Hire some professional UX/UI people on this. Please.

New app

Clio is hands down the best virtual assistant I have. The developers are constantly improving the areas I want to grow, and now that it’s where I want it to be I’m excited to see what they think of next for my law firm!

Big miss on update.

Why did you make internet required for Clio ??? I am often not in places with a good connection and I need client information. This was a big miss. Can’t edit a matter ? What?

Please let us get to the information when we have no internet.

By

Nice but needs some updates

This is a handy tool to use on the go but it has a few big issues: 1) every time you go to use Clio it takes a while to refresh (there is no option for background app refresh); 2) it doesn't show your total time for the day on the Time Entries page; and 3) when you select a company, there is no option to see the employees of that company. Fix those and it's a 5-star app.

It’s easy practice anywhere with Clio

Managing and running a law practice from anywhere are easier than ever now thanks to this app and the this app app.

By

Bad Update

Most recent mobile update is horribly slow. All I get is rotating circle when trying to look at calendar and set next date. Extremely frustrating, old version did not have this problem.

By

blown opportunity

App ears to be launched (again) w/o proper testing, as with last App launch.
This one however, is significantly more non-responsive.
Both on iPhone and iPad, it’s requiring more taps in field to be able to enter data; most often 2-3 taps in the same field to hit it just right.
Plays more like a non-optimized web-app.
Also, the force-feed update to app (short fuse on end of life functionality on old app v) is simply offensive, given the glitches.
You can do better. Let’s do that!

Why take away clio connect functionality?

If this app is supposed to help make the office mobile, why take away this app connect’s access to the mobile app?

Stop milking us for money.
