Garbage - Purposely Misled - DO NOT BUY

What TextPort description fails to explain anywhere BEFORE you buy, is that in order for you to export messages from an iPhone or iPad, you must take screenshots of every few sections of the thread, one by one. Screenshots!! So for a conversation thats been ongoing for months, this would take days. In other words, there is no easy way like you would expect from the words they use such as “effortless”, “easy to use”, “quickly”, etc. There is nothing effortless with TextPort as there is no auto export functions UNLESS you download it on a desktop and plug your phone/ipad but I tried that and it fails every time and doesn’t even ask you what to backup. I’ve read every one of the companies responses and they basically say “tough luck try to get your money back from Apple knowing full well people aren’t going to go thru the trouble for $7. Total scam.

NOT text export; have to take screenshots

You have to take screenshots one by one - and you have to do that with the date stamps showing (they are not always easy to view depending on the thread) - and then TextPort allows you to import the images. Typical issue with these apps: You have to pay, first, only to find that it doesn't meet your requirements. I want to export text from text messages in an efficient manner. This is the opposite of efficient and I just wasted $7.99 to figure that out.

Worst kind of app

This is a total bait app. It’s says very clearly you can “download” a whole conversation from messages. So o open TextPort expecting some version of “try it a couple of times then buy if you want to use it more” and that’s fine.

I want to test out the export and see how it works. But the only thing you can do without the subscription is take screenshots! As if content already do that.

Extremely dissapointed

Never before have I been so dissapointed in a paid app. With TextPort, there are two options for converting texts to script. One is by taking screenshots. If you are like me and looking for an app to allow printed texts, you likely have way too many to make screenshotting worthwhile. The second option is to transfer to a laptop. I had high hopes for this and even bought a new laptop that could host TextPort . Went through the whole instructed process only to get to the end and be told that the pdf was not able to download because the file was too big. Colossal waste of time and money.

Highly disappointed

I purchased TextPort to export one text feed…export being the word of focus. TextPort, while being able to stitch screenshots, didn’t make it clear that it’s just another screenshot stitcher.

The write up doesn’t explain the process…I think now…for good reason. I was under the impression that I would be able to open a chat and TextPort would scroll the whole chat as one solid thread and then we could export that as one file.

If your goal is to have satisfied consumers, why not just be clear and explain “how it works” to establish a reasonable expectation?

Download does not work

Huge waste of time and money. You have to take screenshots, so TextPort is useless if you’re trying to backup or save more than a month or two of text messages. I needed to download years of texts between myself and one other person, but TextPort could not even successfully download the contents of my phone to let me select that text thread (stalled at 98% after waiting for hours).

Frustrated and wasted money

I have a very long text history and scrolling through the text history, not even getting halfway through took me 45 minutes. I got TextPort for help to get the text history, I even got a subscription. And then I found out that I have to get screenshots… I’m regretting this purchase and frustrated by wasting so much time

Does not work as advertised.

I initially thought this was a straight up export from text, as TextPort describes itself to be. But instead you have to meticulously screenshot every text. TextPort just collates the screenshots.

It also does not understand when something is done as a reply. It just has the other side saying the same message

Well, so far, I’m excited to use the app but bummed that it’s gonna cost so much

Well, since they’re asking me to review try TextPort I don’t really know how much I will like it, but it sounds pretty useful and definitely. It’s gonna be what I need when it comes to a high conflict coparenting dilemma that I’ve been involved so let’s cross our fingers and hope that this saves me when I need it. Here is nothing or hopefully something.

Easy to use app not upfront about pricing

TextPort is super easy to use and works very smooth. For longer conversations it’s somewhat time consuming. 3/5 because it offers to sell TextPort for weekly or yearly price. Then offers a “import credit” when you are trying to do anything from there you still have to go back to pay. So the credit was a waste of time, since I’m not needing TextPort enough to justify the price.

It’s fine when it works

It’s a great app, but sometimes the text messages doesn’t always have the date on there. Yes you can edit it for the exact time and date after, but you have to do it for each text individually. Also, the delete and edit text messages doesn’t always work. If I have a text that came through incorrectly I try to edit it to what the actual text says but it wouldn’t let me. I’ve also tried restarting and deleting TextPort and reinstalling but the same issue persist.

Worked Perfectly

This worked perfectly and was exactly what I needed. I was able to screen record the messages and it converted the video to a hard copy that could be emailed as a pdf or whatever you need. 10/10

Good job boyo!

As far as I can tell, TextPort's output is 100% not admissible in court, but it turned out to be really useful for crystallizing my engineering project ideas fueled by my relentless ADHD. They give you the option of editing any time stamp or message content before saving to a text file or a pdf file. Again, 100% not admissible in court. Just take screenshots for that and hope, my dude. Any jury can read rasterized screenshots of your texts, especially if you increase the font size first.

Great customer support!

I was having problems getting this to work. The problem was on my end. My payment method did not go through in order to activate the subscription. Customer support on a Saturday night was quick accurate and very helpful. I’m using the program and it works great.

Text messages

Such a huge time saver for printing out all your text messages. Just proof look at it before exporting to make sure everything is correct. This would’ve taken me days but TextPort I did it in mins

COURT

I needed text for court and TextPort made it so easy to download the texts. They were time stamped and formatted in a way that made it easy for the judge to review them. I’m here again to get more text downloaded for yet another trip to the courthouse

Unbelievably amazing

This is an unbelievable product the fact that it can do a screen cast, and you can scroll through your texts, and then it can convert them into a dated document is priceless

Textport works

It works by recording video as you scroll through all your text messages and converting them into a PDF or text files

Finally! Waiting for this solution

TextPort is such a time saver. I frequently take photos of message threads for documentation and reference. But they’re a pain to keep track of and you can’t really search them for text. TextPort changes everything. Probably the most useful app I have. And the feature of being able to edit the scan of the thread is amazing. Maybe it’s too good…

Did exactly what I needed it to do

The solution required installing the desktop app for windows, but the software installed on my phone, along with the desktop software, did exactly what I wanted it to do, preserving for me a very important and special textbased conversation, and I couldn’t be happier.
