This is annoying, when switching to private mode you’ll need to toggle on or off the extension to make it work. Now on the positive side this is the best adblocker on iOS. This is better than AdGuard and all the other adblockers combined, assuming you have your settings on optimal mode.
uBlock Lite definitely seems quite promising, it makes Safari feel much lighter than Adguard when browsing. However, I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seem to work at all inside Safari’s WebView, ads come through with no problem, and that’s with the highest degree of adblocking, while AdGuard blocks that with no problem.
As my title suggests, this extension is a great reason to use Safari. It works flawlessly on ipad and macos, just as effective as the equivalent uBlock on Windows for chromium browsers. I would gladly pay yearly for this, but the developer refuses donations. I’ve been using uBlock for years, and its always been the most effective extension for blocking ads. Speaking as a retired programmer with decades of experience, this extension is great!
Open source, based off of the original ublock origin, and faster than any other adblocker I’ve tried for safari. Highly recommend. Make sure you set your filtering mode to complete, otherwise you’ll still see some ads.
I always use firefox + ublock origin on every device when available. iOS unfortunately limits browsers, but this addon definitely helps. I was using AdGuard for years (with great effect). This seems lighter and easier to me because of my prior usage of ublock. It seems great so far!

It’s a bit counter-intuitive to get into the settings of the extension. Especially in Private Mode. However, this is the best adblocker in the world and everyone knows it. Thank you for finally porting it to iOS.
