After completing two-step verification, MyWDFW completely fails to log in. I cannot access or use it at all, making the entire application worthless.
This is especially concerning for a service built around digital tags. If the official app won’t work even under optimal conditions, how can anyone be expected to trust the system?
As taxpayers, we spend millions of dollars on this, yet all we receive is a low-quality web app poorly wrapped in an even worse native container. A secure, fully native app could realistically be built in a single week using modern AI coding tools. Instead, it appears public money is being wasted on overpaid developers delivering substandard work.
Fix this immediately.

I have used the BC Canada fishing app without issue. I did not log into WDFW before downloading app - I guess you are supposed to. Once everything got settled it defaulted me to a paper catch card. I had to email WDFW to change this, but tried to print the temporary catch card off the main WDFW site. It gives me an error. I had high hopes but the paper process was way easier. If given choice in future I’ll do paper. This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used and although I can log into the main WDFW site, MyWDFW seems to hang when I try to log into. Can’t wait for game warden to ask for my catch card.

Like all aspects of Washington state government MyWDFW is thoroughly worthless. It does not work and does not allow for login on an iPhone. They took a system that worked and made it both more expensive and less usable. This state is a joke.

No matter how my times I try and different mobile device, I get stuck at the log in screen. The green login button gets deactivated after I have entered my user name and password. It just sits there. I retry and the same thing happens.

I’ve had a Washington Fishing License for 30 years. Trying to use MyWDFW and it could not identify my information as being correct. Kept sending me back to restart it. No one answered the listed telephone over three days. Please get your act together or do not offer MyWDFW! SO unprofessional!!!

App development is a mess! It can’t even log you in. I signed up and purchase on the website. After downloading MyWDFW and attempting to log in, MyWDFW freezes for a few minutes and then says it has to log you out because of inactivity. What a joke.

I haven’t been able to get MyWDFW to work. I have an active account, I can log in on home computer. I’ve installed, uninstalled, reinstalled a bunch of times. Still doesn’t work. Bought my license on April 1st and wanted to fish every day since then but I can’t because MyWDFW doesn’t work.

I was excited to see licensing in Washington went digital this year, I followed the prompts to purchase, but when I went to pull up my license, MyWDFW froze right after login. This was the night before a Razor Clam dig, and my license was inaccessible the next morning during the dig. Government licensing apps should probably be tested for bugs before going out for general use.

I enter my login credentials and it sends me a text for verification. Once entered, it then just gives me an error. When I tried (multiple times) to go the email verification route, I never receive an email. I get WDFW emails pretty regularly so it's not blocked or found in my spam. What gives?
With all the software know-how in western WA, I figure WDFW could make a better functioning app and website. It's pretty pathetic actually.

I downloaded MyWDFW to test the functionality of it as I am a Hunter in Washington. Unfortunately it’s stuck on the loading screen and won’t progress at all. I tried restarting it and also turning my phone on and off again. No change. I was excited to use my phone for tagging and purchasing and not have to go deal with paper copies but I don’t have a good feeling about MyWDFW yet.

MyWDFW doesn’t work they rushed getting it out, rushed getting people on it, and now when you call wdfw they have no idea how to fix any issues you are having or how to even get it to show your licenses that you have purchased. Ultimately hopefully they can get it figured out soon but till there is some updates to it, it won’t be worth even downloading

I’ve been amazed that a state which is home to so much tech industry could be so far behind in mobile licensing. So when I saw the announcement that the state was migrating to digital licenses, I thought, “finally!” But my enthusiasm was quickly dampened when I discovered MyWDFW is plagued with a bug that prevents logging in. This, in turn, prevents every other feature from working. The only thing it CAN do is send endless MFA codes to my inbox. Thanks for trying.

The five star review is clearly paid for because that is not the experience we are having as users. Downloaded to test functionality, app required passcode which was sent to my email, I eventually found it in junk folder, then I went to login and had to validate my account and get another passcode. That passcode was sent directly to my deleted emails folder. Eventually stopped getting passcodes and I’m unable to get logged into MyWDFW . Nice try. I haven’t even logged in and I’m frustrated.

MyWDFW is poorly developed and has many bugs. You would think with they would be able to develop a better app with all the ai technology that is available but clearly not.. I’m not even able to log into MyWDFW . I put in my user and pass and insert the 2fa and then I just get stuck on a wdfw logo that eventually crashes. I’ve been trying to log into MyWDFW for over an hour with no luck. I bet you they intentionally made MyWDFW this way so that way they could ticket more people for not being able to display there mobile license.

so far, horrible. app doesn’t load and doesn’t let me log in, also does not give your the clearest detail and instruction of what your supposed to do. so if MyWDFW doesn’t let me log in, and i get checked and can’t open it, i best not get no ticket!!

App is fine but you need to do a 3 step validation process on the website before logging in. The onboarding process doesn’t make this clear at all. Once you’ve logged in on the website and done the verification of your contact info etc. it lets you log into MyWDFW .

Works well for me in quick smoke test.

The voiceover labels need some attention. Many of the button descriptions are impossibly long winded. Product would benefit by observing a voiceover-dependent person use MyWDFW , or from getting an accessibility audit from someone on Apple’s a11y forum, to become ADA compliant.

No hiccups on startup/first launch, contrary to the experience noted in the review from elkhuntr88.

Not sure why other folks are having problems. It works I see my permit and all the other endorsements. I was able to log on without any issues.

Login to the website first and click on mobile license option provided then come back in sign in to MyWDFW . Works just like the website but a bit slow.

I had no problems loading or logging into MyWDFW . I used my existing account credentials and it loaded this year’s licenses and endorsements. It allowed me to purchase all my licenses for next season so I’m ready to go. I am glad Washington state finally caught up to other states using the same type of license applications. This makes life so much easier. Whoohooo!!!
