The only way to log in is to reinstall, but it will log you out automatically anyway. Hopefully this will receive an update sooner rather than later

I understand it’s still early but with people receiving their kickstarter pledges Altered needs to do the basics well. This is especially critical given the unique role Altered will play with this game for collecting, trading, ordering foil versions of cards etc.

Altered unfortunately is more of a “web page in an app” and has that “clunky” feeling while logging in constantly (if it lets you) and navigating between “pages”. I understand this is the quickest way to get an app built and published, but it will plague the user experience until a real app is built.

I truly hope they can make this a seamless experience before global launch or what could be a revolutionary new type of gaming framework won’t even make it past set one.

It opens an internal web browser with all the issues of using a web browser and none of the advantages. Infinite loading times as it uses no cache and you can even pull down… to not refresh anything.

App is just a front-end for the website, with scanning capabilities, but it logs you out until you reinstall the entire app. Then you can't log in again after one use. Unfortunately unusable.

I love the unique gameplay of this app and I really hope it pops off, but Altered is in desperate need of optimization. Whenever you go to look at a faction or hero, and then click the back arrow when you’re done reading, it takes you to to “what is this app?” Page. Clicking the back arrow from this page just refreshes that page. You have to close out Altered and reboot it if you want to read about one of the other 17 heroes. Very poor UI.

App seems to be bugged again after the 1.0.5 update. No button to scan the cards (it will flash up briefly on the screen and then disappear) and the “my collection” tab doesn’t show among other issues.

Rating 3* based on Altered usability before the update broke it. App mostly does it’s job. Some quality of life would be appreciated (search function only targets card name not text on card, deck building is clunky, minor issues with server, events are listed seemingly randomly etc etc etc).

I fully expect the quality of life issues to go away as the kinks get ironed out in the next few weeks (potentially a couple months) post release.

That being said, I really hope they patch a hotfix for broken 1.0.5 soon so I can scan cards again.

If you need to login, while we wait for the patch, the current fix is log in to the website on your web browser, uninstall Altered , and reinstall it. Then your login should work. It’s a bit jank, so hopefully they get the patch out soon.

Before the update 1.0.4 Altered was not great on iOS. Multiple issues logging in and scanning cards. Sometimes you had to delete and re-download Altered just to get it to work.

But now, everything is fixed. Seriously, it’s living up to what they promised and then some. The game doesn’t launch until September 13th anyways so this was effectively a beta stress test for bugs, and now they’ve resolved the issues. I think everyone who has given a poor review should try Altered in its current state and give it a new, fair review.

App didn’t work great initially, but it’s fantastic now. Scans all my cards really fast and easy. Can’t wait to access it’s marketplace features and deck building platform.

I also initially had login issues when I got Altered , but the most recent update has resolved this. Using the mass scan with Altered is quicker and easier than I expected, so imo Altered is doing what it is meant to.

Able to scan now with no issues, a welcomed improvement! (and the game doesn’t even come out for another two weeks)

First beta version was rough. App is now faster and scanning is faster and more accurate. Great work, devs!

Retail launch is still a little bit away, but they have most of the bugs worked out in Altered now. Currently, its mainly for scanning your cards and it does a good job at that. If you have any issues scanning a card, it’s more than likely just an issue with the QR code printing. And hopefully they launch the market and deckbuilding options on the site/app soon to make Altered more useful.
