Broken App

RoombaHome literally never works. I’ve checked my WiFi and Bluetooth connection- both are working fine. Every time I open RoombaHome it’s stuck “loading” a previous cleaning schedule. I can’t get it to stop. I’ve cleared cache and also deleted and re-downloaded RoombaHome . Nothing stops this. I can’t Pause or Cancel the “cleaning cycle” it thinks it’s doing. The whole time it’s telling me it’s doing a cleaning cycle, the vacuum is parked at the dock. It’s extremely frustrating and there is no support for RoombaHome .

App doesn’t work; support doesn’t help

I just got the ROOMBA 105 and downloaded RoombaHome . RoombaHome is very confusing; says to schedule a clean in the home button and automation button. The support site says there is a “clean” button, but it does NOT exist in my app. The support says to schedule a cleaning 8 hours ahead because RoombaHome is off. If I do that, it will sometimes run when I schedule it, sometimes 8 hours later and sometimes it won’t clean at all. RoombaHome also crashes, shutting down for no reason at all. I don’t know how the ROOMBA company can make a good product and pair it with a useless app. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Terrible app

I've owned Roomba's for decades and the classic app was intuitive and user-friendly. I never had a single issue. I purchased the latest Roomba and was forced onto RoombaHome and it is no good. It has difficulty connecting and spins and doesn't take me to automations. I spent over an hour with support trying to figure it out on two separate occasions and two separate machines, and got nowhere. They only knew to tell me to reboot and nothing improved. I'm switching to a different brand whose review describes RoombaHome as easy to use with great automations.

Haven’t been able to even clean

I got my roomba about a week ago, got my house mapped out twice. But I cannot work RoombaHome due to every time I tried to edit the map. Nothing works. It says error and doesn’t save when I try to merge rooms. Or split rooms got to clean a part of one room once this is getting pretty frustrating, about to just box it up and return it because RoombaHome is not doing it’s a job, which is the main reason why I bought this to be able to clean where I need to clean at specific times.

App makes product useless

I was able to create an initial map of the house and make small edits to it such as a no go zone. After a day I went to make other edits but could not. They would not get saved. I decided to delete the map and create a new one. The map deleted successfully. And the roomba went to go create a new map but it did not save. I tried many times to do so, but the same thing happened. I even tried clearing app cache, deleting RoombaHome , and restarting my phone but it still did not work. Now I have no map and cannot use the roomba. Until this is fixed RoombaHome and product are useless.

Irrecoverable errors

I have uninstalled and reinstalled RoombaHome multiple times along with returning an old 405 unit and exchanging it for another. I don’t know if it’s the robot or RoombaHome but this product is extremely buggy. RoombaHome enters an irrecoverable state constantly anytime the robot Gets confused… Which happens a lot. For example, I set the robot to run overnight and it got stuck in the legs of a chair. I could forgive that, but RoombaHome apparently doesn’t understand that the roomba’s power died. Even when I manually placed it on the charger RoombaHome still thinks it’s in cleaning mode. Attempts to cancel or pause the routine do not work. This has happened numerous times in the past, and I don’t know the solution other than a hard reset of the robot. Absolute garbage.

Very glitchy

While some functions work well, others do not. Spot cleaning function has never once worked. setting up automations works, but there is no way to edit the function or even see what operations are going to be done, you can only change the time/day. App locks up frequently and needs to restart. Was promote to fix the overflow drain and it said click here to see how, nothing happened when clicked. History tells you what area was done, but doesn’t say what was done in that area. Cleaning zones doesn’t always work. App needs a serious update/overhaul. I almost returned the unit because it’s so difficult to work in RoombaHome .

Very poor app

RoombaHome is surprisingly bad. The load times are awful. RoombaHome takes much longer than it should to open. The home page takes way too long to load. Cleaning history takes too long to load. The “routines” have no way to edit them once they’re created. I have to delete it then recreate it if I want to edit the cleaning level. So many other problems. Once I’ve clicked the “map” from the Home Screen then the robot is on the dock but apparently didn’t finish cleaning I have two options of “resume” and “end now” even though it’s charging? Doesn’t it resume on its own once it’s done charging? So many issues. RoombaHome does not deserve 4+ stars.

Improved but glitches

New app live map is a great new feature but scheduled automations run at the wrong time and setting up an automation is difficult due to the wording not appearing on the screen preventing you from choosing all days of the week. I don’t see where the time zone can be changed as my 6p scheduled cleaning ends up running at 10a everyday instead. iRobot, you need to do better with as much money as people are spending on your devices, and I’ve owned over 7 of them.

Overall, Not Bad

RoombaHome is mostly intuitive for me, but I’m an IT admin/support person so my opinion may be skewed. RoombaHome has locked up several times during the initial setup of the Roomba 105. Closing and reopening RoombaHome usually solves the issue. So far (a few days) it’s locked up 4 or 5 times. It’s also not showing the progress on the initial cleaning task I set up. My guess is it finished after it recharged but didn’t update RoombaHome for some reason.
I’ll keep working with it but my initial opinion of RoombaHome is mediocre at best.

Robot is Great; App is Not

Our new Roomba 105 is great — a major improvement over our previous generation Roomba. The new app, however, still needs lots of work. Importantly, I cannot figure out how to save any routines, so I have to set up each job in detail manually each time. Also, RoombaHome fails to recognize and add new spaces to the map. And RoombaHome VERY frequently fails to save the history of a cleaning job. And fwiw, the charge level indicator seems flaky. Altogether this is not the quality I expected from iRobot.

Holding connection

Love RoombaHome and being able to start a job, set up automations. The biggest issue I have is it seems to loose connection quite a bit. My automation will still run but it won’t record the cleanings, and I am also the unable to see where Roomba in it’s cleaning routine. Sometimes it is easy to get the connection back with the instructions given and other times it just won’t connect back and all I can do is wait.

App needs refinement

App needs to be reworked when it comes to the map. Move the type of cleaning out of the map section and add it in the automation section. Setup automation then have the ability to select what type of cleaning on a per room basis. Cleaning history should at least a brief description of how it cleaned & what it did.

Firmware updates should be automatically installed. Notifications from RoombaHome are non-existent.

Good app

RoombaHome works well. Setting routines, buying parts, all that jazz. I really wish I could rename each routine though. Example: for my 9 am routine it just says room 1-3. I wish I could edit the name to say “only vacuum” so that I didn’t forget what it was set up to do at what time.

Confused

I’ve had 4 Roombas. Overall I have been satisfied. Two of the Roombas are very old and so I updated to the new 705. Disappointed no blocking towers were included like before.

After downloading the new app (disappointed I need two apps now to control the new Roomba and the older one). First thing it wants to create a map. It went about doing its thing and returned to base. To have it start vacuuming, RoombaHome showed no way to accomplish this. I pressed the on button and it started vacuuming in very odd directions.

Now RoombaHome gives me no options. Asks to create map, but when button is pushed, nothing happens.

Deleted app and reinstalled. Still can’t do anything in app.

Redeemed!

I had several concerns when I first received the new Roomba 405. RoombaHome seemed very glitchy and I actually returned the robot for a replacement. Once the firmware was updated, the replacement robot has been operating at 99% accurate or above. This is truly the Roomba that I was hoping for when I made the purchase. I have a pretty complicated home layout and RoombaHome has been working flawlessly in both mopping, vacuuming, and combination mopping and vacuum modes.

Works Great - bugs seemed to have been fixed

At first I was scared purchasing the robot as they said RoombaHome was glitchy but I got it last week and it works great! If the map room splitting glitches a little bit, try moving the marker, or exit the map and re-open it, that worked for me, other than that works flawless, robot is VERY accurate and pretty smart it remembers permanent objects it can’t see to some degree.

Improved Features

Intuitive interface makes it easy to start, stop, and customize cleaning routines, while smart mapping features allow for targeted room cleaning. Integration with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant are convenient. While RoombaHome provides helpful cleaning history and maintenance alerts, there’s a slight learning curve from the old app but it’s easier to navigate. Overall, it’s a well-designed app that enhances the Roomba experience, it could benefit from improved user guidance.

Vac and mop removed decades of soil

I periodically would manually use a mop and try to shampoo my floors, but decades of dirt had become the top surface.

Once I was able to name different areas of the map, I tell Alexa to tell Roomba to vacuum and mop the kitchen or dining room and it sets off to do it. And once its back on its charger, for the first time in decades my floors shine, a pleasure to see.

Great improvements

The new Roomba app is a solid improvement over its predecessor. The interface is sleek, intuitive, and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and control your device. One standout feature is the real-time tracking, which allows you to see exactly where your Roomba is cleaning and its progress - it's oddly satisfying to watch. The smart mapping and scheduling features are also useful for customizing your cleaning routine. While there's still room for minor improvements, overall, RoombaHome significantly enhances the Roomba experience.

Got a mew Roomba 105, and the Roomba Home app is probably the worst app that I ever tried to use to control a device. Never seen something worse in the last 20 years. Just a 100% useless. Got so annoyed that dumped the roomba outside, maybe it will find another victim to torment. Just easier and faster to manually clean with a hand-held Dyson than being frustrated by this rubbish: life is too short to waste it on useless Roomba. Goodbye
