If you don’t subscribe, the app shows a daily, full-screen ad pushing you to sign up. You have to dismiss the ad before seeing your new photos. Once dismissed, a large ad sits permanently at the top of your photo grid. For perspective, on my iPhone, there is room for only one row of photos at the bottom edge of the display due to the ad. I contacted customer support seeking an option to disable either ad, and they said there is no planned option. Humorously, they said the ads were “to provide easy access for users who may wish to purchase a plan”. I recommend you buy a competing brand of bird feeder, of which there are multiple.

I love the bird feeder and all the activity but this app is not good. I paired it as soon as I got it and immediately it said, “error”, however it did pair with my phone and internet. I tried to select a plan and add my card, “Error”! I tried to contact the company but you do not have the option to tell them about the error. I really wish it worked, so if you buy this item, you are really getting an expensive bird feeder where no one wants to help you. I already have feeders before this one.

I’m loving the quality of the pictures but can’t keep up with going through them to sort or delete or enjoy. Every time you save some snaps, the main page takes you back to the top of the page and I have to find where I left off going through the pictures and it’s an active feeder!
There needs to be filters to be more user friendly with dates or something so I can go back to the day I was looking through. Or after saving snaps, it takes me back to where I left off. You can’t go more than a day of not looking at them before it’s overwhelming to go through.
