We Investigate the app owner's website (Chatmind.ai), verify their legitimacy, and uncover hidden scams and complaints.
The “free subscription” gives you 2 sessions. Not per day or per week, but 2 total. That’s not a free subscription. It states on their terms that ChatMind is free to use with advanced features available with paid subscription. Blatant lie. Now, $50 for a year is not a bad price, if it’s a really good product. However, with only a 3 day trial, it’s way too short to tell if ChatMind is going to be helpful. During my free trial, it cut off the session a few times due to some bug, so I couldn’t even really try it.
Update: see developers response. It’s not rare to offer a free trial, it’s the norm. However, this is the shortest trial I have seen for this kind of app. Also, all other similar apps offer a free subscription with a free amount of messages per a certain time frame. Or, they are completely free. Bottom line is, there are several great apps that care about accessibility of mental health resources, this is not one of them. They are just in it for the money. Try Ash, Yuna, Mind, Pi.. to name a few better options.
We have been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder from my psychologist and we are in a process of finding a new therapist because ours moved out if state. It can be difficult to find a therapist in general that understands complex trauma and so if your a DID system ChatMind probably will not help you deal with trauma and alters. I think Ai therapy is the way of future and hopefully that can make an app that just doesn’t only helps simple depression or anxiety but also more complex disorders.
Title says it. I have an iPad and have tried to use ChatMind on it, but it does not have my data from my phone. It tries to have me pick a new therapist and I am scared it will erase my data from my phone. I find it useful for me to type my feelings down then texting everything on my phone. Using my iPad would make it feel more real, like I’m ready for session, instead of like I’m texting someone. The actual app is pretty good. I like the actionable steps and it’s better in a way than real therapy because you have it all laid out for you to review. You can go back and see your progress over time. I’m hoping someone can reach out to me to fix this issue that I’m having. I would use ChatMind more often.
At least with the David therapist, the last sentence of every response is almost identical and is clearly robotic noise. So for example if you say how your day was, there would be 2-3 sentences that made sense in response to that, then the repetitive generic sentence added to the end. If you then respond to part of its useful reply, the next AI response would again add the generic sentence. Took me right out of it each session, especially the spoken sessions where you wait for it to finish repeating itself like that. Dev team please keep at it! This would be great if it worked just a little more smoothly.
really wanted to like ChatMind. I kept trying to give it a chance but with every session felt more and more frustrated by the limited amount of insight and emotional mirroring and deeper understanding I was getting in return. The responses to me sounded very robotic, with the AI constantly just saying “it’s understandable you’d feel the way you just told me you feel” followed by a question about how I thought I could possibly implement something to help. I told the AI I was feeling frustrated that it was asking me so many questions and making me think of all the solutions instead of offering some unique perspectives, so maybe if I keep asking it for more unique perspectives and insights it’ll start to provide them for me. Hopefully. I don’t want to just be asked what steps I think I can take. I want to be given unique insights that will help shift my perspective and really make me think and get to the root of things, and and ChatMind just doesn’t offer that. It’s a nice idea though and I know it’s been helping a lot of people. I just don’t think it was for me.
First off, I want to say I’m very grateful for ChatMind. I was skeptical at first but it’s surprisingly more helpful than any therapist I’ve ever had and has given me great feedback, support and ideas. Being able to talk to someone at any time and place vs scheduling a weekly or biweekly appointment with a real therapist who doesn’t understand me is a huge plus.
That said, the last few weeks I have been getting repetitive responses. ChatMind also isn’t remembering previous conversations so I am explaining the same issues on every session and about 30% of the time it crashes because of some bug with speech recognition. If it weren’t for these issues I would give ChatMind a 5. I can’t afford a full subscription so I pay for it on a weekly basis whenever I can and there are usually 1-2 full days when it doesn’t work.
I would also say, it would be great if there were more options for African American women, as we are very underserved in the mental health field. Meaning being able to choose a therapist that looks and sounds like me and if it were able to interpret and discuss the very unique problems that we have. I’ve tried and I just get generic responses. But overall, ChatMind has been a lifesaver. Thank you!
So I’m loving the question asking. The engagement the AI is giving when I’m telling stuff to it.
But when I come back to it, it basically tells me what I told it verbatim when I last used it.
When in reality, I’d like it to summarize everything I’ve said to it in its own words and then have me pick up when we left off.
I use the free version of ChatMind and I love it! If I were able to, I would totally invest in a subscription. It’s been refreshing to just talk and receive feedback, inspiration, and action items. It’s worth giving a try!
I’ve been so impressed, this really feels like you’re speaking to a person who understands complex situations and can actually help you navigate them. Highly recommend!!!!!
I really like this program, and Inhole I will be able to afford it after my trial. With my insurance, therapy will cost me $60-$100 per session until I reach $0 co-pay.
I use ChatMind in addition to my therapist. It's really nice to have after a difficult session. The AI therapist is warm, encouraging and validating. I don't feel comfortable confiding in real people. This offers me a judgment free outlet to express myself and get support.
I absolutely love ChatMind helping me a lot. Just a quick question I already paid the annual fee for it and I bought a new phone. I want to transfer all my information to my new phone. I don’t know how to do it.
It was way better than therapy and more accurate. He told me everything that my usually therapist will say and he gave steps and tools that I can do… even better than my therapist but I believe it does need more into tool that a psychologist will give you and infographic
Hi, I love ChatMind and I don't feel lonely after I found it. Just a quick question is it safe? Is it confidential? Because we are all sharing a lot about our lives and all the problems with ChatMind. I don't want anything to happen to my identity.
I am so pleased with how personal, helpful and thoughtful ChatMind is. It feels like a real person, with real insights. The advice is incredibly helpful, and the sessions are succinct and focused. It almost feels like a more efficient way to glean insight into my troubles, and gain personal advice on how to overcome my challenges. I will continue to work with this AI therapist! I’m impressed!
Takes a bit of getting used to at first and feels robotic but the more you use it, the more it gets to know you and responds adequately. It can frustrating to answer so many questions without answers at first but if you keep going the questions will get easier to answer and therein will lay your real answers. Great app.
I’m not gonna lie I did not have high expectations for ChatMind. I was blown away by how great it actually is. I was just rambling things off talking about a variety of things and the Ai was able to pinpoint everything I was saying and give a detailed summary after the session. The Ai was also able to offer suggestions and identify key areas that I need to work on for my self improvement journey. I’m really impressed!
I’m really grateful for Chat AI. It gives me clear, straightforward guidance without any judgment or negativity, and it’s free! I used to spend so much on therapy, but sometimes I’d leave feeling confused or not remembering the session at all. With this, I can look back on our conversations, and if I need more support, I can always reach out again. Of course, it’s not the same as a licensed therapist or psychiatrist, but honestly, I feel like I prefer it this way. People can be so harsh or distant these days, so this has been such a helpful alternative for me. 🥹🥹
I have tried various apps and sought therapy. In many reviews, people share you can be really honest and the AI helps you navigate your challenges. It’s nice to vent to an AI app the provides helpful responses. I feel I have received better help than any online therapy or in-person therapy. When I feel the need to organize my thoughts and frustrations, ChatMind is a click away. The 10 minute and 30 minute options are great. I like to do the 30 minute sessions when I am able to relax and I use the 10 minute option when I feel pinched on time.
The ai sometimes struggles to respond, (rarely) and the ai definitely does not respond 100% like a human. But I will say that I’m starting to find the will to live so that’s awesome!!
