I loved switching to Goat Maps because it’s focused on providing a great experience to plan and track your hikes. By keeping this focus, it does exactly what I need it to without being distracted by social features or unrelated functionality. I used this app to plan and track, and use AllTrails as a companion if I want to find community recommended trails.

Very excited that Goat Maps is live, just in time to let my 5-year Gaia GPS subscription expire. Goat Maps has all the features I need for route planning and trip tracking, without all the useless (to me) features, unstable operation, and steep price tag of Gaia.
Looking forward to many trips with Goat Maps as the navigation app in my pocket.

I hike a lot and I’ve tried pretty much every GPS app there is. I’ve been using Goat Maps during the beta and it’s the best. It’s fast to start up, it doesn’t spam you with pop ups. And it doesn’t break with a sketchy internet connection, like most other GPS apps do. Five stars.
