I love a good tower defense game and this one is cute and addictive. However there are multiple times playing this game where I hit a wall and have to grind a lot to get more coins to power up my slime or end up having to pay to advance the game. It makes the game feel endless and hopeless and as if you’re trapped and the quickest way to get out is in game purchases. There are some other games of this genre where you can more easily advance and power up. You will easily hit a wall and the only thing you can really do to get past a level is to pay your way through. It gets boring. Deleting this game now, it’s no longer fun.

This game’s mechanics are incredibly frustrating and feel designed to push players into spending money. I’m stuck in a battle on hard mode, level 10, against an enemy with life regeneration. My character has enough regeneration and shielding to avoid being killed, but not enough damage to win. We’re locked in a stalemate, which feels like a deliberate design flaw to create paywalls and grindy mechanics.

I spend 12 hours a day farming, using a second phone to run the game at my highest difficulty. Despite weeks of effort, I’m still stuck on level 4 in normal mode and level 1 in hard mode. I’ve purchased bonuses, reset my stats twice to optimize my build, and carefully balanced damage, survival, and crowd control stats. I’ve maxed out resistances, dodge, crit chance, mushrooms for area damage, splash, and multi-shot abilities—yet I’m still not progressing. Even after earning 125,000 gold in about 40-60 minutes, several times a day, the grind is unbearable.

At this point, the game feels less like a game and more like waiting for a chance to actually play. The pace is excruciatingly slow, even after removing ads, and it’s clear that spending money is the only way to make any real progress. Sadly, what could be a fun experience is ruined by the pay-to-play mechanics, turning it into a frustrating, tedious slog. Not recommended!

Updates set you back in progress. And while this is a tower defense most of your progress is made idle - if you don’t spend money you can essentially go back from where you were. The difference is insane. Also the average range for prices of in app purchases are insane. The average purchase is like $30. There’s only a couple $2 purchases you can make.

The amount of ads you have to play to make this game playable is around 40 a day
Ontop of that it’s evident that the ads themselves break the rules. Several won’t close even after 1 min. Several pop you into other apps 4 times before being able to navigate away. I’m surprised Apple allows such malicious practices

This game is cute for the first couple of days. However the UI in game is really clunky and janky to navigate across different pages, I have spent on the game to help with making gameplay tolerable (removed ads and x5 speed). despite this the progression in the slime village is far too slow as the drop rate for stones to upgrade is insufferably low (1-3 per level if you're lucky, sometimes none at all). with the x5 speed multiplier grinding one chapter for 1-3 stones is at least 10 minutes. for context you need upwards of 100 to upgrade ONE of several buildings. even after this you will still hit a wall as any slime not bought with $20 will not let you successfully pass chapter 9 unless you basically max out every skill which could take months of heavy play depending on gear RNG (which is also comically low). outside of actively grinding the afk rewards are limited to 8 hours and this amount does not allow for meaningful progression. The most successful way to enjoy this game is to go afk permanently

Awesome game, absolutely loved it. Up to the point I realize you can only get one SS legendary slime with in game gems, after that they range from $25-$30 per a slime. Even after the package event time for the slime runs out, you still got to pay for them. On top of that, they make the harder difficulty maps almost impossible to clear with just regular epic slimes. Clearly they want to force you to need better slimes (p2w) or spend months stuck on the same level with crazy low drop rates.

As others have said, each consecutive update makes the game less approachable unless you’re willing to spend insane amounts of money. As an example, before update v1.7.5 I could farm Chapter 6 on Hard Mode and get an S gear fragment every round or so. Each round takes about 10 minutes - I purchased the ad removal and 5x speed boost. After the patch, I’ve run the same stage 20 times and received no S gear fragments.

The developers have responded to other negative reviews that in app purchases only speed up the progress; after this last update, that’s simply not true. You cannot get S fragments from farming any more.

I understand the devs wanting money for their work, but they seem to have forgotten that on a game with only one core mechanic (grinding to improve gear), they eliminate the incentive to play when they remove the reward for doing so.

And let’s be real, $23 to remove adds and speed up gameplay is a lot. $31 for a character is also a lot. So if you made it this far into my review, know what this game is before spending any time on it.

I’ll start off by saying that I have purchased a few things, so I’m not just complaining about a free game. I paid for the 5x battle speed forever, I paid to always skip ads without watching them, and I paid for 3x mining speed. I have supported the developers. My main issue is with a bug, which hopefully isn’t intentional. When you complete a battle, it shows your rewards, which you can either collect or watch an ad for 1.5x rewards. It DOES NOT say that the 1.5x only applies to some rewards and not others. Specifically, it DOES NOT apply to experience shards or magic crystals, both of which you need a lot of. You get a good amount of experience shards generally, but magic crystals are more rare, so getting 1.5x would be great. This makes me wonder what other things the game says you might be getting that you don’t actually get. This should be patched immediately, because it is dishonest and misrepresenting what’s going on.

It’s fun at first and then very frustrating. You can grind for days to pass a single level. It’s very tempting to spend money. It’s not worth it to spend money to advance in the game because it doesn’t get you far. My advice for the developers would be to reduce the number of ads you have to watch, make gems easier to acquire, and make better use of in-game currency. I would not recommend this game.

I really really like this game and have been having a ton of fun playing it. HOWEVER, I’m having an issue where on some games I play my shield just never recharges. There’s a decent chance it’s my fault and I’m not reading some small text somewhere about an ability that takes away my ability to recharge my shield. I am notoriously bad at looking for things. But to me this feels like a bug and it has really discouraged me from playing this game more.

I enjoy the game alot there’s definitely some pretty harsh difficulty spikes if you don’t pay to remove adds, but it’s nothing to much to handle. Will there be a multiplayer option in the future such as clans, tournaments, or PvP? That would make the game top tier ide say. Also there needs to be more ways to earn Gyms. I earned alot very quickly at the start but it’s dropped WAYY down. This is where I think PvP, and tournaments could come in handy to help earn more gyms.

I’m definitely enjoying the game so far and seeing my progress. The only big issue I’ve run into is that if you can’t play for a bit (like a hurricane knocking out your internet for a few weeks) you’ll lose progress. I had all but my atk maxed out, and now I’ve got hundreds is levels to re-grind to get the gold to upgrade.

The game mechanics here are fun and are often satisfying. There are many cool ways to upgrade your slimes and make them more powerful. That being said, if you don’t spend any money on this game, you will hit multiple, major progression walls that will take a significant amount of time and effort to overcome. For those of you with deep pockets, the game makes it possible for you to spend dozens or hundreds of dollars on pretty much any resource you want, which is likely advertised as convenience but is frankly quite predatory. Unfortunately, spending amounts like $25 will not guarantee any major progress for you. I enjoy playing this game, but it’s clear to me that SlimeCastle is trying its hardest to get me to constantly spend money.

Love this game it’s challenging and fun at the same time and has an excellent replay value. I like how all of the special equipment is actually attainable granted it may take a little while to build up enough gems, but still attainable without having to actually spend real money and the items they do have you spend money for are totally worth it keep up the great work. Looking forward to the new updates.

As I have put in the title the game is amazing and fun but the problem I have been having for the past month of doing the mine is whenever I mine the question mark stones I get nothing from it from time to time and sometimes back to back so I ask the creators of the game to kindly fix this mistake and what I mean about no reward is I get nothing like gold gems holy spring water armor blueprints absolutely nothing

games perfect mix between idle and active gameplay, good side quests and mini games, ads completely optional and helpful for like 2x rewards which sometimes are nice( remember everyone this is a free game with optional ads not spammed in ur face and we have to support them somehow they deserve it its an ACTUALLY GOOD GAME) looking forward to more updates and storymode!

The game has a lot of depth with the weapon upgrades and the ability to upgrade all of your passive stats. A couple suggestions for future updates would be to add in some more multiplayer content/aspects so that there’s more ways to compete against each other outside of just the leaderboard. As well as adding in like an endless mode, that’d be super cool. Still incredible game without anything added, i just look forward to seeing what else the game can come to offer

This game has been pretty fun so far. Almost cleared world 5 after struggling in world 4 for so long. To save time I payed to remove ads, which is optional, but I wanted to support the devs. I have no idea if I have been using my upgrades optimally, but it seems that with time you can max most upgrades. I have quite a few maxed, or close to maxed, but was this wise? Where is the discord, reddit, and wiki? What’s the most optimal build, so many questions. I wish there was someone with enough gumption to create a space for us to share our findings. Maybe I’ll start a reddit, but we need a discord!

So this game has been super fun for me so far. I’m at chapter 9. I love spending my gems on slimes and gear but I had a couple of questions. Given that I’ve spent some money on the game, now I’ve unlocked the slime shop with ad tokens. My question is does the gameplay x3 boost stack with the x5 I bought with money?
Same thing for mining boost. And what does resetting my talents for $7 do? Is it like new game plus for my talents or just a refund incase I spent my gold coins badly? Other than that I’ve had a great time. Wish magic crystals weren’t so rare aswell. I grind constantly to only get like 1-3 crystals every 11mins on chapter 8. Still love the game tho

I would recommend to people fun game for when your bored or have extra time on your hands overall experience playing is great and I love this game but I couldn’t only play this game all the time it’s fun though I enjoy playing the game

I have Yolanda slime on level 8 and I upgraded her to 175 with shards..it now says level breach and now for the final upgrade it’s asking for special elements (the multi color one) can’t find them anywhere..I’m very disappointed I’m thinking they are forcing you to buy a more powerful slime because Yolanda is the last SS slime you can get with the purple gems.. I love this game but can’t proceed any further without upgrading her to 200
