Do not

SkinSort is good but I scanned 4 different skincare brands and SkinSort wanted me to buy a thang and i deleted SkinSort again DO NOT USE SkinSort

In app purchase

This is a subscription service, not detailed in the apps description.

😡🤬

SkinSort is horrible 😤 when you try and scan something it gives you like 4 times to scan something but after that you have to pay premium I hate apps like this 😩

Can’t use the app on iPhone SE

As soon as you open SkinSort it brings an ad to upgrade to a paid version but the X to click out of it is in the corner (where the battery percent is shown) and is completely un-clickable. So I can’t even use SkinSort which is a shame. Not sure if it’s because I have an older iPhone so my screen is smaller but if so that seems like a pretty crazy design flaw.

This could be the best app! But

SkinSort has some serious potential to sky rocket. However- it doesn’t work. I try to load the front page- doesn’t work- the recommended content- doesn’t work- blank white pages, devs. Some serious bugs that need to be fixed. The only thing I could get to load is the korean vs western page.
Also when beginning a profile, definitely make it a point to add all the skin concerns to the initial profile creation ; currently in order to get all of the skin issues on your profile for accurate product recommendations (if it worked), you have to go to your profile> settings> skin. You can access way more issues there than initially. Which isn’t streamlined for user experience. During initial sign up as well, you should add the product preferences- even at beginning level - bc some people can have known allergies regardless and if they’re truly unsure they can click unsure. It’s missed the mark by having it hidden in profile.
Just a hot tip too- in the future if this does blow up, which i’m sure it will, when influencers get on here and become verified, there should be a way to ensure they are not getting paid promotion for products and they remain even-handed.

Hope to see improvements but for now I am uninstalling- has insane potential.

Could be great

I really like the concept of SkinSort and it’s super easy to use and love you can see other people routines etc. However one KEY feature which is missing and would add SOOO much value, is if you can add on your profile ingredients that you’re allergic to or break you out, so that it will pop up as a warning when you click on a new product that has that ingredient. Please please add this and this will be a 5 star app! Also something additional along the lines of this, if you try new products and they break you out etc you can mark that on the product, and over time if there is a pattern maybe SkinSort can pick up on a common ingredient that you didn’t realize was breaking you out.

love this app, really disappointed by the update

in my opinion, this is the best tool for people like me who love knowing everything about the products they’re using and tinkering with skincare routines.

the most recent update is a huge bummer. a lot of the categories in the search feature were removed and you can no longer search for and find a list of products with “mist” in the title, for example. it’s a lot more difficult to find new products now. I also feel like the individual product pages are a little clunky now with having to tap to see why something is a good/bad match instead of seeing the information on the page itself. I can see why that makes sense for non-subscribers, however.

FWIW I’m a premium member and have been for a while now, I’m not currently planning on ending my subscription any time soon but I definitely find myself using SkinSort for research purposes a whole lot less.

I love this app so much. I don’t really leave reviews on things but I needed to say something in hopes that maybe I’m not alone in missing these features.

Need improvements

You should be able to search anything and filter that. It only shows you a few products based on your search and you can’t filter it based on your specifications. Like I want to look up cleansing balms but that’s not an option.

So helpful!

I’m loving SkinSort as a person with problematic skin. Navigating all the available products out there is overwhelming. My only request would be to add options to sort and filter by % match so I can get right to my best matches instead of scrolling through hundreds or thousands of products.

Great interface, more premium-user friendly

It’s so easy to use and has digestible insight to the ingredients in skincare, haircare, makeup, and other cosmetics. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s curious about what’s in your products. It’s also very easy to submit feedback, products, and interact with other users. SkinSort does often require a subscription for more helpful information- detailed insight into your specific skincare routine, automatically matching products to your needs, and more. I couldn’t say if it’s worth it or not, as I use the free version of SkinSort .

really helpful, but buggy at times

It's really useful for logging your routine and keeping track of products and its usage. It is my go-to destination when wanting to compare product ingredients and gaining quick insights about them.

The social aspect is definitely interesting since you're able to see the skincare journey of others and share advice.

It's definitely providing a lot of value, but there are a few bugs where the tabs will be empty and require refreshing the by pulling down or by closing and the reopening SkinSort

PERFECT SKINCARE APP

Literally my favorite app. I love all things skin-care and SkinSort helps me look for products that would be good for my skin as well as check my current products to see if they’re good and keep track of my routine. I love it and wish I found it sooner!!

Bless this app

I’ve never written a review before but I must for SkinSort because IT HELPED ME! It lets you know what’s in your skincare products without having to KNOW everything. Easily digestible helpful visual info, and being able to compare products side by side is just amazing. Even the one minute reads about helpful skin knowledge is amazing it’s just 10/10

Why I love this

It’s a great app and it helps me organize my routine! I really love it and best part you don’t have to pay for a subscription unless you want premium and there’s no ads! Five stars!

Filters

I love SkinSort and i recently got new skincare with SkinSort but i feel like the filters are kinda weird, i filter it to cleansers and it shows alot of toners rather than cleansers..

FINALLY AN APP!!

i’ve been using this app for so long (maybe like a year), when i first discovered it- IT WAS LIKE AN ANGEL THAT DESCENDED FROM THE HEAVENS AND GAVE ME THIS GLORIOUS WEBSITE/(now)APP. it’s helped me be more decisive and picky with the products i buy. especially when it breaks down the ingredients, and how people in the community feel about them. key features i love: 1. comparing products if you’re feeling conflicted with buying one product verses the other, YOU CAN COMPARE THEM. when i tell you i tried looking for other apps/websites that did this, i came up with nothing. how i felt about this is, “how hard is it to make something to compare products”. not hard because this app has that feature for you! 😁 2. searching tool you can filter things down, this is probably like the most simple thing but they i believe they’re more detailed with their search tool. you can search based on: COUNTRY, INGREDIENTS, PREFERENCES, CATEGORY, and so much more. 3. UPLOADING PRODUCTS if they don’t have a product, AND YOU HAVE IT. upload it. that’s it, you can just upload it, they’ll double check everything and the information. like SkinSort/website is so perfect. they check the ingredients as well, and i feel like that shows how much hard work each person who works at this app does. 4. for you, holy grails, trending, and more buttons now this is new and i personally love it, because i get confused easily on what is doing wHAT. so the fact that they have an oil control option is nice, because searching yourself can be really difficult. especially if you’re new to skincare and trying to understand everything/looking for things for your SKIN. 5. skin care diary now i personally don’t use this, because i just have a hard time with logging things in 😭, but it’s really helpful for other people who are set on keeping track on their skincare. especially if you’re forgetful, and if you forgot what routine you used on what. and what broke you out on what day when you used a certain routine, yk? 6. you can FOLLOW PEOPLE? i feel like this is a good feature especially for really big skincare lovers who like to review for other people because it does do us all a service. we know how it affects someone, and it better helps us judge something based on other people’s experience. 7. SCANNING. when i tell you, it’s hard to walk into let’s say MARSHALLS. and be in the aisle trying to look up a product, COPY and PASTE the ingredients into the checker. now, we have the camera to scan, round of applause- because this app made it easier for all of us. there’s more to this app, but for someone who’s struggled with their skin and got into skincare trying to look for solutions. and couldn’t come up with any product that helped with hyperpigmentation in the past. i’m glad there are more companies and PEOPLE who are digging deep to understand skin better. and that are there to build a big and more effective community around skincare. this means a lot to someone who didn’t know anything at first, and now knows how to help others with their skin. for people getting into skincare, please use SkinSort- it’ll save you the struggle and time of researching on google and going from website to website trying to understand ingredients (there are some ingredients on this website even this app doesn’t know but there are people who are taking time to figure it out and post onto there) and how products will affect skin. and thank you this app for making life so much easier when it comes to skincare.

EDIT:
adding new ui that fits the ipad? 😮

So good I recommend

Great App!

Love SkinSort! I wish I found this before I invested into any skincare products but better late than never! This is very useful as long as you know your skin type. I like that I can record my routine and SkinSort makes some suggestions if some active ingredients are clashing with each other and some other useful suggestions (gotta subscribe of course but it’s worth every penny). Please don’t ever stop developing this!

Very easy to use

I usually stay logged in on my phone’s browser, so very happy to have an app now instead! I’m not a premium user but I have all the features I need to keep track of what I’m using, jot down notes each evening, and research products I may want to try.
I also love using the shelves to categorize the things I want to look into more and I often check out other people’s routines for ideas and tips. Reading product reviews here has helped me so much with finding my own favorites.

Overall really pleased to have a smoother mobile experience.

I LOVE this app

I love SkinSort so much I actually went out of my way to leave a review. I’ve been on it non-stop. You can filter what products you want by which retailers you want to buy from, request specific ingredients you want or DONT want in your skincare, specific spf levels, skin concerns, etc.
It gives a whole product breakdown though I do suggest a little bit more research if you wanna know specifics about certain ingredients. You can compare different products, and if they don’t have a product listed you can copy and paste the ingredients and it can give you a product breakdown. And I’m using it for free. I’m sure the Premium has great perks for you (scan products with camera, compare multiple products at once, specific recommendations for your skin)- will definitely be purchasing it.
