Before the most recent update, apps opened instantly without the shortcut delay. Now there's a delay which completely ruins it imo. I'm not sure why this wasn't clearly listed in the update notes. I wouldn't have updated nor would I have paid for a lifetime license. Will update to reflect if this ends up being fixed. For the time being I'll have to go back to not using onpointMinimalHomeScreen unfortunately.

how do you make a widget app but forget to add the widget lmfaooo
by Andrewboonedog
I don’t see the widget option.
by Jack 🏃♂️
I can’t seem to add the widgets to my homescreen. I press +, scroll down and even search for onpointMinimalHomeScreen , and nothing comes up. Others don’t seem to have this problem, so I would fix to 5 stars once this is fixed

HELLO DEVELOPER- If the ease of use is planning on returning, great, please let me know when to expect it. If it’s not, or it’s far down the line, please let me know so I can get a refund.
Worked easily up to yesterday but today’s update-
• deleted a bunch of my renamed app shortcuts
• removed the possiblity of finding onpointMinimalHomeScreen and creating a shortcut for you
• loads onpointMinimalHomeScreen as an intermediary black screen when you click onpointMinimalHomeScreen links (it used to seamlessly open the apps) or you have to create a shortcut and is two steps to the desired
• As of today I can’t use it
Bring back the ease of use pretty please!

Why is it routing through the on point app now. My widget stopped working and saw it was because you added a paid option, and I thought yeah I want to support so I spent the 10$, however I’m confused why onpointMinimalHomeScreen downgraded with how it opens apps on the phone. Before it was a smooth open as if it was onpointMinimalHomeScreen itself, now it’s the same as blank spaces where it’s just a wrapper for short cuts. If possible to fix that would be great, if not I’m kinda disappointed that I paid then.

I can’t find the widget.

onpointMinimalHomeScreen WAS my favorite, hands down beating the similar ‘Blank Spaces’ app. That is, until the latest update. The update changed onpointMinimalHomeScreen to now function as a shortcuts ‘wrapper’, as well as breaking other small features like removing the ability to rename apps. What’s worse is that there has been no response from the developer, or subsequent update to fix these changes. I previously paid for a yearlong membership, but luckily, received a refund from Apple as onpointMinimalHomeScreen is no longer functional. I’d recommend other users who previously paid for the in-app upgrade submit a refund request through Apple as well

Feels like the recent update broke onpointMinimalHomeScreen . The shortcut spacing is less pleasant now, but that’s the least of it - the shortcut linking is no longer seamless, there’s a black screen between press and open now and it often asks if I want to allow . to open the end application. Multiple of my apps disappeared from the list, which now require shortcuts, which further add to the friction. It no longer feels useable.

What happened to the ability to change app names? One of the main reasons I loved onpointMinimalHomeScreen was that you could have all your apps listed in lowercase letters, or even set your own custom font if you wanted. But now all the apps come with their default capitalized names and there’s only a handful of font choices. Why take this out????

I really like the idea on how it looks, but the dot is kind of annoying. There’s other transparent widget apps that just don’t have a title that look cleaner

Would appreciate it if you could add back feature of directly opening apps. The wrap around is not smooth and I bet many people would appreciate it going back to the old way.

I was in LOVE with onpointMinimalHomeScreen. But this latest update completely ruined that. Everything is so complicated now for no reason. I can’t add apps anymore without jumping through some hoop of importing shortcuts. Before this update, I could have up to 2 widgets. Not anymore. This update is horrible. I want to continue to use onpointMinimalHomeScreen but this makes it completely unusable.

for a few days i was literally showing all my friends my home screen SO excited about onpointMinimalHomeScreen. it sounds silly but i LOVED you could rename apps, so i could turn "Apple Maps" into "maps" but now you can't rename apps anymore, it made it so i can't add new custom apps if i don't know their url scheme, and to launch each app you now go through the on point app and then to your own app. feels more like "blank spaces" now than before where it had a bunch of features i thought were way better. i think a mixture of this new update and the old version of onpointMinimalHomeScreen would be better.

Widgets work, in dark mode the background doesn't match the widget or the dock though.
I haven't seen if anyone else is having this issue. Help would be appreciated.

“.” Is nice but there are invisible characters that could be used and would fit much nicer, such as the one between these brackets ( )

I am a lifetime member. The general idea is great. Minimal Home Screen, and no notifications. The interface for adding apps is straightforward and customizable.
However, onpointMinimalHomeScreen opening is clunky. It’s not possible to natively add every single app. So, the custom apps via shortcuts is great, right? Not so much. Clicking an app via the widgets while running via shortcuts / automation will make on point visibly open for about a second or two before opening the desired app. Although short, this is frustrating! The worst offender is Firefox Focus. So, I have to either live with this clunky delay with automation on, or not support custom apps. Please improve this if possible.

Maybe I did something different in my settings but I had to color match the wallpaper to blend in with the widget. My widget actually says “on point” in stead of “.”, so I can see that on my screen. Anyone know how to change that?
I like how you can add which apps you want to use. I wish I could change the font size, but it’s not a big deal honestly. Excited to keep using onpointMinimalHomeScreen. It’s exactly what I was looks for.

Very good app even with apples shortcomings.
Is there a way to get the “camera” and “photos” apps added to the list of apps?
Also is being able to change the displayed word part of the paid version? Some apps have long names that ruin the look.

Easy to manage and set up. The one thing that is truly missing from onpointMinimalHomeScreen is the ability to change the font in any way. Size, style, etc. It would a be star review if that feature existed.
by Mimineisback12
onpointMinimalHomeScreen was perfect before ver 1.0.3.
Now apps don’t open instantly, every touch opens the On point app then the intended app. Or even worst, it opens the On point app then the shortcut app and finally the intended app. Is there a fix coming ? Thanks
by ChadLH
The new update made onpointMinimalHomeScreen worse in my opinion updated UI is great but took key features away like renaming apps and now it shortcuts opens apps. Please fix this.

Finally got onpointMinimalHomeScreen working and I’m enjoying it so far! Do you have any plans for adding a simple plain text notification badge as an option? I know the point is to get away from notifications but there are one or two apps like phone and messages it would be beneficial for. I want to use this 24/7 but don’t want to miss messages or not see missed calls.

I'm really impressed with onpointMinimalHomeScreen and its concept; I was so convinced that I even upgraded to the full version. However, I've encountered a couple of issues. Despite having the full version, I can't add more than four widgets, and I'm having difficulty adding my clock and some Apple apps. Additionally, I'd appreciate if the font size could be slightly reduced as the current size cuts off some of the lettering. It would also be great if I could organize more apps on a single screen. Please don’t think this is a complaining comment I just thought it might help with future updates. Despite these issues, I'm still a huge fan of onpointMinimalHomeScreen and continue to enjoy using it.

Love onpointMinimalHomeScreen - I was looking for a minimalist app launcher to “dumb down” my phone and onpointMinimalHomeScreen fit the bill. I am running into a bug though: I can’t delete apps I’ve added to the small widget.
by Re No Djdakxjrejf
i love onpointMinimalHomeScreen its so simple and intuitive BUT it is missing several apps that i would like on my home screen. For one why cant i add Photos? please fix so i can give 5 stars :)
by Simplifymore
Thank you for onpointMinimalHomeScreen development. Five stars if I could update the small widget without having to delete onpointMinimalHomeScreen . The large widget will allow removing shortcuts and replacing them.
by Clumsyjellyfish
tried blank spaces and it was so annoying having to see a shortcut animation any time I was opening an app. I don’t understand how onpointMinimalHomeScreen fixes that issue?? But I’m glad I found it through One Sec!

This is a great app and does exactly what it says.
The only thing that would make it an absolute A+++ perfect app is the ability to create multiple widgets. I break out my phone between WORK and PERSONAL. I’d love to have a list of personal apps and then a list for work to really keep things separate and minimal.
One also nitpick is the “.” Name under the widget. Not sure if it’s even possible to have a widget with no name but that would make it SUPER clean. Overall GREAT app and can’t complain at all given that it’s free. Thanks for making such a great alternative to the other competitors who are creating shortcuts and asking for monthly subscription payments.

It’s on point: that’s actually the app’s name, it’s just “ .
And add both the small + large widget to your home screen.
Add your most important + least distracting apps within the app.
Makes you think twice what you actually want to do with your phone.
” a dot – a point.
