It has a lot of potential. The free version is not very functional, but it offers a helpful list of questions to ask before making a purchase. Once you’ve answered the questions, StopImpulseBuyingTracker gives a recommendation (buy or don’t buy) based on your responses. For me, the questionnaire keeps recommending that I make the purchase, even if I’ve given some great reasons not to buy the item. I turn to StopImpulseBuyingTracker to stop myself from making these purchases, but it encourages me to make them anyway. I wish the questionnaire had higher standards, and I wish I could modify the question weights. And I wish the questions were clearer and deeper - what exactly is the cost per use, how many times will I use the item within the next year, how many hours will I have to work to pay for it, etc. I’m sure if they added these features, they would be behind a paywall though. More than anything, the free version should be functional. It’s just a worksheet right now. Most of StopImpulseBuyingTracker is behind a paywall and it has constant popup windows trying to get me to buy the premium version, which is super unhelpful to someone on a spending freeze.
