Stop Impulse Buying Budget Reviews

It looks like a great app, but I ended up deleting it because you have to sign up for a monthly subscription to unlock most of the features. If it was a one-time cost under $10, I would have purchased it. But a subscription will add up to $120/year for the top plan. Not ideal for an app that’s supposed to help you cut down on spending. :-(

StopImpulseBuyingBudget seems very contradictory in its messaging. Many people obviously get StopImpulseBuyingBudget in order to stop impulse buying and StopImpulseBuyingBudget goes on to give the user non stop suggestions to purchase the $10 package, which in of itself is most likely an impulse purchase to the user. It’s almost laughable to get StopImpulseBuyingBudget in hopes of stop purchasing things that are unnecessary in our lives. There are many free templates online that give better help than what StopImpulseBuyingBudget is failing to do. I encourage users to try those instead and don’t waste your money on this.

All button presses bring up a pop-up to subscribe and I am unable to even use StopImpulseBuyingBudget to determine whether or not it is useful in the first place. This developer might be wise to consider revision and pricing structure. $10 a month seems disproportionate for the features StopImpulseBuyingBudget offer.

Make it make sense.

It has a lot of potential. The free version is not very functional, but it offers a helpful list of questions to ask before making a purchase. Once you’ve answered the questions, StopImpulseBuyingBudget gives a recommendation (buy or don’t buy) based on your responses. For me, the questionnaire keeps recommending that I make the purchase, even if I’ve given some great reasons not to buy the item. I turn to StopImpulseBuyingBudget to stop myself from making these purchases, but it encourages me to make them anyway. I wish the questionnaire had higher standards, and I wish I could modify the question weights. And I wish the questions were clearer and deeper - what exactly is the cost per use, how many times will I use the item within the next year, how many hours will I have to work to pay for it, etc. I’m sure if they added these features, they would be behind a paywall though. More than anything, the free version should be functional. It’s just a worksheet right now. Most of StopImpulseBuyingBudget is behind a paywall and it has constant popup windows trying to get me to buy the premium version, which is super unhelpful to someone on a spending freeze.

I’ve been dreaming of a cute and functional no-spend app that encourages you to think more intentionally about purchases and this is it. The interface is absurdly cute and makes me want to open and use it more than with most tracking apps I’ve tried for various reasons. I hope to see it grow and add features over time but expect I’ll use this a lot to gamify not spending!

I am definitely guilty of being easily influenced online and on social media, and I love that StopImpulseBuyingBudget helps keep me accountable from buying things that I don’t need! The questions help me realize if I truly need the item or if it is just an impulse buy. Great layout and simple to use!

I’ve used it a handful of times and have really loved it! So helpful to check in with myself to help encourage me to meet my spending goals! Definitely recommend!

This simple app has interrupted my impulse buying cycle and saved me from making even middle of the night Amazon purchases! I now grab my phone less to buy on Amazon and have set healthier boundaries with purchases! It’s such an amazing tool!
