Another one bites the dust

So yet another developer has decided that a fluffy, useless, dysfunctional change to their UI was the right move to do. QRing used to be clean, light white, gave you all the information you could want at your fingertips, or without having to use your finger because all the important current data was on the primary screen. Now, they’ve added meaningless photos to giant cards that in order to see all of your information you have to scroll down several screens stopping at each one. You cannot get a quick overview of what’s going on with your body in one place. I would give QRing zero stars if Apple, would let me. I don’t know if this is one guy in his mom’s basement writing QRing, or if there’s some team somewhere who went out drinking one night and decided to screw up a good thing.

Hey developers, let’s be clear, this is an app for biometric data, no one cares about fluff, no one cares about how pretty your little pictures are, what we care about is getting to our data. Now, maybe what you want to be focusing on is getting accurate data rather than data that never seems to match up with what Apple, collects on their medical grade watches. When you do that, then you can screw around with your UI, but until then, leave well enough alone. At the very least, give us the privilege and right to choose which display we want. Let it run for a year or two and then shows statistics on who chose what and then maybe you decide. My guess is you don’t care what users want, you only care what you did. Prove me wrong.

Interface/lack of features

I purchased the Herz P1 smart ring to see if I liked wearing a smart ring in general, before purchasing a more expensive one. I downloaded QRing as it is shown to be the companion app for this ring. Well I’ve had QRing downloaded for ~2 hours and am not impressed in the least. QRing completely lacks certain features that the ring itself states it measures, such as body temperature. I also can’t seem to figure out continuous heart rate or blood oxygen level tracking. The interface looks simple, but for the suggested features for this ring, QRing is terrible to try and access any of that data.

So upset

I am so disappointed in QRing! I bought the ring because it claimed to do body temperature and I have contacted customer service about this so many times and they just stop responding. They kept telling me to download the Herz P1 app which is funny because that doesn’t exist!! After being told that by them I lost all confidence in the company and asked for a refund and was told that it would be easier for them to give me back 20% and keep the ring or they could give me a gift card for the entire amount then they vanished again. So frustrating!!

Tracking seems wildly inaccurate

The sleep tracking on this doesn’t register when I wake up in the night at all. It seems to assume I sleep/wake up within five minutes of when I’m on/off my phone. It has said I was in deep sleep when I was laying in bed awake.

It seems to track steps, blood oxygen, and pulse fairly accurately.

The menstrual record is garbage. It’s predictive and assumes you are a clock. There’s no way I’ve been able to tell where you can just say when you’re bleeding. Instead it wants you to input your cycle length, number of days you bleed, and the last day of your last period. If anything about your cycle is irregular it’s useless.

New Firmware = Loss of Features & Reliability

The new firmware that I loaded on 9-8-24, via QRing, on my R02 Colmi smart ring changed the whole app and made connectivity, previously very reliable, spotty at best.

QRing lost the stress and blood oxygen “cards” so there’s no way to monitor that data. Still gives the option of monitoring them both throughout the day but there’s no place I can find where the data lives. Stress reading was always useless (the reading never changed despite massive stress or deep relaxation) but I have sleep apnea and want to know if my oxygen levels drop during the night so I can mix up my position, supplements, etc. in order to have a better night’s sleep the next night.

Sleep tracking, while it’s finally tracking my REM sleep (zero REM sleep prior to firmware update), after the update, despite having a full night’s sleep, it’s not registering that I’m sleeping at all on some nights and other nights I’m asleep for seven hours but it says I slept three hours. Used to not have these problems.

The connectivity is now very spotty. Connects enough to transfer data but forget about real time measurements of heart rate (the only remaining option for real time anything) as the ring disconnects after a maximum of 30 seconds.

$5.99/month for an aura ring subscription is starting to feel like a good deal.

Herz P1

Disappointed

I googled smart rings, and this ring showed up to be the best one. It showed a 5 star rating. Unfortunately there is no app that says Herz P1. If there was, potential buyers would know that the rating is 2 1/2 stars instead of 5. I have had my ring approximately 2 months and have experienced all the problems that others have complained about. I do not recommend buying a smart ring. I know now, if you purchase something that must pair to your phone, and you can’t find which app it uses until you make the purchase , DON’T BUY IT!!

You can get this ring for $30 on alibaba.

The fact that this ring was marketed as one product and has a different app name is the first red flag. Some of the settings in QRing are in a different language. This ring does not track workouts. You can have it track heart rate every 5 mins but expect your ring to die every day. Also they don’t make it clear your ring will take almost a month to arrive. This is a generic smart ring made in china you can get on SHEIN and other cheap sites. QRing is very sloppy. It doesn’t track accurately compared to Apple Watch. If you want a charge to last more than 3 days you will have to turn off some of the health monitoring (oxygen, HRV, body temp or heart rate) which defeats the purpose of the ring. I had to turn the heart rate monitoring to every 30 minutes which completely messes up the other stats especially sleeping and your exercise score. For $30 this would have been acceptable but the are high-level fake company websites and selling these are top of the line rings, when the are not. Save your money. But to be honest, if you’re already here reading this, you’ve already purchased the ring. So go ahead and just ask for a refund.

OK ring

The ring itself does its job, but QRing needs improvements. It’s constantly logging me out I’m always logging myself back in, the data time stamps are generated into military time there’s no way for me to change it to 24 hour time. I wish there was a widget to use for iPhone on my home screen it’s the only app in my phone I’m not able to add a widget. Also there’s no way for it to link up in my Apple Watch either. The step count is always different from what it shows on my Apple fitness, it may be because I have them on my dominant and non dominant hands. Hopefully there some improvement..

Sleep tracking is shotty

App is not designed with American systems of measurement in mind, but it’s possible to change the unit of measurement to the British system for miles and feet. However, you need to convert your height and weight to the metric system when setting up QRing . Not hard with Google at hand.

The sleep tracking is very inconsistent. For instance, I’ll wake up after a 11 PM-8 AM sleep, and QRing will say I slept from 4 AM to 8-something AM. It’s disappointing that it’s missing that information.

The heart rate, HRV, oxygen, etc. tracking defaults to every 30 minutes to optimize battery life, but at those intervals, especially with HR, is kind of pointless.

I’m trying to eliminate the need, or desire rather, to keep an Apple Watch, but the ring just doesn’t replace the feature-set the Watch offers.

I guess I’ll keep looking…

Option to see times when you move the vertical bar

For example, you can move the vertical bar to show you what your heart rate was earlier in the day but it doesn’t actually show you what time that was at. Same thing for stress, sleep, blood oxygen.
I’d like the option to sync workouts from your phone to QRing on iOS. It’s weird that it’s not able to do that.
It would also be helpful for higher numbers to be available for menstrual cycles. There are lot of women that have cycles WAY longer than 35 days. I can’t use that feature at all right now.

Not too bad,but…

A week ago this was a five star rating until the problem began. My ring started to spontaneously disconnect from my phone,ok so I was making an effort to reset everything and cannot find out how to reset the ring,or app or anything else. I think this needs to have a better way to address this issue. All I want is to get it fixed so I can use it again.I really love the ring and what it does, it provides info for me as I have COPD and breathing problems. Please fix this issue so it will be easier to troubleshoot and fix.

Needs to have real Apple notifications

I’ve enabled “notify when the ring needs to be charged” and QRing “notification” settings are “banner, sound, badges” so I should get notified if QRing enabled actual Apple Notifications. It doesn’t! the only “notification” I get is an in-app popup that doesn’t even create a notification badge on QRing icon. I use QRing to collect data from the ring and sync it to Apple Health for overall health monitoring. I’m not in QRing daily. An in-app popup with no badge notification is useless.

ONLY BUY THIS IF YOU DON’T want to track sleep!

QRing is very human unfriendly. As an example, it only tracks sleep from one minute till midnight and then when you wake up. I have a Withings sleep mat and it records from the moment you hit the pillow. Have only had this ring for two days of recording and will reevaluate it in about two weeks. Ninety day return policy might come in handy. I will be contacting the OEM to see if there is a reasonably inexpensive cost for extending.

Sleep tracking

I purchased the Herz P1 ($60) so I could track my sleep without wearing s watch. I noticed that the sleep tracker always adds an extra hour of sleep. QRing does sync with Apple Health but Apple health tracks the sleep accurately so I view sleep from Apple. The sports record had several activity selection but basically records the same way, you must scroll to select an activity, you cannot search and it's not in alphabetical order. The stress level monitor is fairly accurate but you can check twice within 2 minutes and the numbers will be much higher or lower. The steps appear to be accurate,

Minimal and simple - and therefore lacking basic features

QRing is sleek and not too busy which is nice. Missing customizability in terms of favorite exercises. Would really like to see weekly and even monthly average views for the three different activity goals (burned calories, steps, and distance). Weekly and monthly average calculations exist for the stress tracking so it would be helpful to have similar views for activity since that’s one of the main trackers.

Great as a simple tracker!

Good purchase for me because I mostly wanted something to track my steps and occasionally sleep. But I do wish I could use it more for tracking workouts. It’s not very good at tracking a workout and it doesn’t prompt you to start or end a workout or even just let you input one so that you can track your movement for the day all in one place. If I forget to turn off a workout it won’t be accurate or let me adjust it! Hope they improve this soon! Overall I’m impressed in the durability and functionality of the device for the price!

Battery

There’s truth in reference to the battery. I still have my Ring but the battery has died and will not keep a charge any longer. I bought the ring I believe in September. However, I am purchasing an upgraded version because I see this may be much better than the earlier version and the first ring did not come with a charging case. I’m buying the Titan Pro. The functions as described. I love the functions, excellent. Let’s hope the battery is better on this new Ring!

MUCHO ACTIVITIES

Hi, really liking my new app and ring quite a bit so far. The one thing the BUGS me about QRing is the activities list. It is SO long, and there’s no way to search for, or favorite your probably 3-5 items you may regularly do. Also, my first day, I got 14,000 steps. Impressive, maybe, but me Apple Watch seemed much more accurate at prob about 8. Wonder if a motion sensitivity setting is in order? Thanks! Hope this ringy ding keeps on working!

So far so good.

It works quite well with my $20 ring. A few things I’d like to see is the ability to choose 1 minute increments for Blood Oxygen and Heart rate measurements. I do realize that would affect battery life. If I need to charge the ring more often, that’s worth it to me. But the option for more measurements would be beneficial to myself and perhaps others.

Also Please add Ice Hockey to sports menu options! I’ll try “other sports” for now.

QRing

Best Ring I ever Used. For the price of it does everything or more for you best investment ever! As for the last person stating the battery doesn’t say low battery I charge it every night before I go to sleep it never goes below 82%. Same with my iPhone battery it last me 9 years before changing it so this battery will last me hopefully 10 years. Thank You for the company for giving us a reasonable price for people that can’t afford expensive to buy.
