Supposedly it backs up (only) my Apple Music songs. Please note you cannot do anything with the songs, such as listen to them! Also, I can't use it to back up my many songs stored in Dropbox. The only way I could prove it actually works is if I needed to retrieve my lost music (hope that never happens).

What an amazing app, no bloat, just does what says without any complication. I normally hate third party apps but this is just so perfect for someone who doesn’t have iCloud backups. I also cannot understand how well the balance is stuck between the free and paid versions! Someone very valuable such as an automation (backups) I think is the perfect way to deliver all the core features of Hezel free to most users. Shootout to Ashwin for such a beautiful and functional app! I loooveee it!!!!

Hezel solves one of the most frustrating things in Apple Music. Especially for people who have used it for a long time and have songs that came from their personal library or songs that have been changed and modified overtime or from different albums overtime. My library was pretty messy with different versions of songs from different places and with all the changes that Apple has made over the years. I always want to clean up, but if you from your library, it deletes it from any playlist that you’ve made. This solves that you make it back up and then anytime you missing songs and then you just go in and recover and Hezel super easy.

I no longer will be using Spotify as a backup. Hezel is life saving

If you’re like me, you may spend A LOT of time building your music library — playlists, albums — it can take a lot of work. Unfortunately, it is well known that Apple Music can (will) delete your library if you let payment lapse. Maybe your card expired, between jobs, whatever. I wasn’t fully sold on Apple Music until I found this app (formerly Rewind). It is a totally free app that you can use to manually back up your entire Apple Music library. Or pay a one time fee of $4.99 to set automatic backups. Hezel is easy to use, functions well, and is the only way I have found peace of mind that my sizable library is kept safe from Apple’s delete happy grip.

Amazing, but I wonder if it will tell you when a song is completely removed from Apple Music as a whole not just that you accidentally deleted it from a playlist. Is it able to get all of them every time?

This is one of those apps that you never knew you needed, until you DO. It works perfectly, has a nice haptic experience when backing up, works quickly even with large playlist. Fairly priced for the Ultra IAP (if needed) and a super fast dev response for a questions. Support this Indie developer and get an App that’s very useful. You won’t be disappointed.

Hezel does exactly what it says it will do, no annoying subscription prompts or even ads. Very slick looking too! The fact the developer is not pushing subscriptions was enough for me to jump to the very well priced Ultra version. We need to support great apps with humane monetization practices. 5/5

I saw Hezel from a post on Reddit, and I just had to try it out from the concept. Hezel not only has a beautiful UI, but also has great functionality. There’s no ads, it’s free, and it does exactly what it says. It backs up your Apple Music library. I often accidentally delete songs from my playlist and now I don’t have to worry about that! Absolute gamechanger!

Good app, nicely designed, works as advertised.
Rewind was a better name.

used this when changing regions, all worked fine until a big playlist wouldn’t restore, contacted the dev and it was fixed within a couple hours, cannot recommend Hezel enough

Great idea, great app and THANK YOU for the one-time purchase rather than a subscription. I don’t really need the pro feature but I purchased it just to support you and the one-time purchase model.

I value my music selection on AM so I was timid to give Hezel permission to my library. But I finally did and it backed up my 4 year long library in less than 5 seconds. Incredible work Hezel developer did!

Given the size of my Apple Music collection, across many playlists, it’s really a pleasure to find such a nice, intuitive back up app to use. Even the free version is great, unlike most “free” unless you want to make usable. Still even the paid version is a reasonable one time purchase, not another subscription to deal with me. If you want to protect your music collection you’ve built in Apple Music this is a must.

This is really simple to use and gives me piece of mind. Plus the animation is so much fun!

One request - I’d love to be able to export my library data as JSON.

It’s been getting increasingly hard to manage my library. Hezel gives me confidence to delete music I barely remember adding knowing I can change my mind on it.

I'm thrilled with this backup app! The design is fantastic, and it's incredibly user-friendly. Backing up my playlists has never been this easy. Highly recommend!
