Beware… SCAM

I went for the trial and after the time expired they renewed it without any warning or my knowledge with the most expensive option and now they refuse to refund me my money. Their website claims that I have 14 days to request a refund. I requested my refund within a day and they refuse to refund my money.

In the process they keep morphing their reasons not to refund your money. They lie to you in order to keep your money. Avoid MyDiabetes.

Apple should ban MyDiabetes.

0 stars if I could

Went to cancel immediately after I saw MyDiabetes wasn't for me. Got some runaround that I'd only canceled the "subscription renewal" and therefore not entitled to a refund since I didn't send cancelation to the correct email within 24 hrs(?). I feel like I got scammed. Do not recommend a company who does business like this.

There are so many better options

If you do decide to evaluate MyDiabetes do it quickly. You only have 24 hours to have the cost refunded. That info wasn’t published anywhere so by the time I decided it wasn’t for me on day 4 (which was really the first time I had a chance to sit down with it) they wouldn’t even bother free a partial refund, which was all I asked for. Literally ANY meal prep app is going to do a better job of helping you drill down your diet and if, like me, you use an insulin pump, this app doesn’t support it. I know they say have it sync with Apple Health but it’s not the same thing. They have miles to go before MyDiabetes is worth a darn. Deeply disappointed by the entire experience.

No Customer Support

I tried logging in today but it refused to accept my password. I updated my password then still refused to log me in. Not very useful when MyDiabetes is where I’m supposed to be tracking my meals. Support only takes me to frequently asked questions not a person. Very disappointed I wasted $ on MyDiabetes. Not user-friendly for adding meals or food items - too many steps.

Disappointed

MyDiabetes is not worth its money. I downloaded it and have had trouble getting the correct meal plans, trying to update information and I keep getting error messages. I tried to update for meals I ate today and it kept saying there was errors. I want a refund and I don’t recommend this until the errors are fixed. I also have Gastroperisis and the meal plans listed would not offer a diet that is consistent for patients with this disorder as well as for type 1 diabetics. I get the impression it’s more for type 2 or pre diabetes. Very disappointed in MyDiabetes. I had hoped it would have helped me with losing some weight. Oh well.

Not very user friendly

I don’t know if it’s because I’m in the seven day trial before they wanna start charging me for this thing but it sure isn’t user-friendly. Here in the US we do snack and when you log a food outside one of their meals they consider it a meal and not a snack. Water intake is NOT flexible. Can only record it in their increments. I wouldn’t pay for this. Says activity from iHealth integrates and it hasn’t.

Unauthorized charge

I downloaded MyDiabetes to give it a try. I did their seven day trial. I was unable to access my account originally customer service help me to get into the account. I did not like MyDiabetes . I did not like the service they offered so I canceled my trial and deleted my account now being charged $35 that I did not authorize! I am now not able to reach customer service to have them refund my money. It’s a scam becareful

Deceiving when selecting payment options

Although the developers of MyDiabetes might have the best intentions, let’s face it is still a business. I signed up for a month only usage of MyDiabetes , no recurring charges, and yet was charged for a second time. They cited an obscure section of the Terms of Agreement where it was “implied” the recurring monthly charges. I was able to cancel my subscription and hoping to get my money back. Just be aware of the SCAM associated with MyDiabetes.

Another Diet Failure

I paid for the three month plan only to log in and find that the diet is no different than other plans full of foods that raise your blood glucose and work to defeat your efforts. The only thing that would help me is the calorie restriction part of the diet. When I opened my meal plan I immediately get a breakfast of oats (used to make livestock fat) and/or a breakfast of SOY (a phytoestrogen) yogurt. Nothing that is groundbreaking, or different from the failed nutritional recommendations of our government that built a nutritional pyramid based on commercial crops.

Deceptive Billing Practices & Poor Customer Support

I initially tried MyDiabetes to help manage my diabetes, but it did not provide any real value in improving my condition. The trial period did not clearly state that the subscription would auto-renew, and they bill in three-month increments—making it easy to overlook. Worse, the charge was hidden in PayPal under a different name, making it difficult to identify who was billing me until I had to dig through my transaction history.

When I attempted to cancel before renewal, I was still charged. Their customer support is non-responsive, and when they finally did reply, I was told they do not issue refunds—even though the charge had just occurred yesterday. To make matters worse, they are an Australia-based company, making it nearly impossible to speak to anyone on the phone for support.

MyDiabetes feels more like a scam than a legitimate health tool. Avoid at all costs.

Not User Friendly

Recipes supporting diabetes management are decent but disappointed in MyDiabetes itself. Tracking meals & viewing logged items is not intuitive - will resort to using a different app for tracking meals. I wish I could get my money back.

Good recipes and tracking, but needs a recipe builder

I started using MyDiabetes a week ago, after hearing for the first time that I was pre-diabetic. Initially, I was impressed with the recipes that were included, and I bought ingredients to try out a few; but I have some go-to recipes that I regularly make (like my cottage cheese egg cups that I eat for breakfast, most days). When I tried to log them, I realized that there was a meal builder (for individual meals), but not a recipe builder (where I could add all ingredients from a recipe and the # of servings, and get the calorie/nutritional log for one serving). This is something I have been able to do in the past in other food tracking apps, including the free versions. Because I cook from scratch so much, this is a deal breaker for me.

If you are going to stick to recipes in MyDiabetes and/or single serving meals that can be easily logged, then its a pretty good app; but if you like to cook and have a lot of recipes you still plan to make that are not in MyDiabetes , you may find it frustrating, as well.

Canceling within 24 hours of Purchase

I was able to cancel but it looks like I will still be charged for a month. I’m looking for a full refund.

Within 1 hour I realized this was not the right app for my needs. Meal plans were a bit limited for my tastes. I would need to manually enter information for my own meals. More time consuming than I want to spend.

Given I had to pay and install MyDiabetes to review it, and canceled within an hour, I believe I should be fully refunded.

Suggestion

I like MyDiabetes and am looking forward to trying some of the recipes. I wish MyDiabetes had the ability to go back and enter foods that I missed the day before. I don’t always get each meal or snack entered before the end of day.

Easy to follow

So far and (I’ve only been on MyDiabetes for a few days), I love MyDiabetes. I’ve been prediabetic for years and overweight even longer. After countless failed diets and meeting with dietitians I feel MyDiabetes will do the trick. The meals and recipes are delicious. They are easy to adjust if you wish to sub ingredients. I like how easy it is to record your glucose levels and calories. One thing I wish it did record is BP but that’s not that big of a deal

Carb Count

Being a T1 diabetic carbs are crucial. I like MyDiabetes for meal ideas and to keep track of everything. However the carbs on these meals are not accurate. When your suppose to have 40 carbs per meal and once the meal is made and is 65 carbs when MyDiabetes says otherwise, is not okay. If MyDiabetes would allow you to adjust the carb ratio per meal you’re making that would be so helpful! Other than the carbs being off, the food has been good so far!

Love this app

Lots of great features. Lots of easy recipes very fast to make. Love having a diet plan and grocery list already made for me.

Great Application

All around application, still learning to use it.

Diabetes meal plan

I’m really enjoying MyDiabetes it’s very easy to use. I have used parts of it and am working on MyDiabetes full potential. When I started using MyDiabetes and entering the foods I am having it just was so easy calculating how much of the nutrients I still needed or had to watch. I have been using this and I see when I slip a bit and can get myself back on track. I have lost a total of 15 lbs and am loving it. I’m working on dropping at least another 25 lbs and then the Dr can take me off of some meds I have been on for 3 years now. I’m tired of taking pills so I’m working on losing weight, eating right and some exercise everyday.

Recipes

I’ve been using MyDiabetes for a few weeks, I am seeing different features as so navigate around. I see daily recipes featured. Some days I don’t need any recipe ideas but would love to bookmark them and save them for the future. Is this possible?
