As one of the original “Spouters” who signed on when this app first took flight, I originally thought this app was a refreshing change from the bots and and negativity on Twitter/X. But the more the site grows, the clearer it becomes it is not much different than any other social media site.
The site feigns inclusivity at its core… but after spending 9 months there, I can assure you it is no different than other sites in that regard. The site is basically a Twitter/X inverse reality; where Twitter caters to the right, Spoutible caters to the left... and is no more tolerant of opposing views than the site they patterned themselves after.
It also lacks “star power” - there is very little big-name social celebrity presence, which also limits the experience somewhat.
As a “first wave” Spouter, I tried… I really did. But after 9 months, I finally got sick of having to defend my views and my Christianity (they’re not big on religion either), so I hung up my surfboard and hopped off their “wave”.
If you are a hard-left political junkie that hates religion, you may find this site palatable. Unless this is you however, I would not recommend.
Sorry, Christopher Bouzy - you had a great idea. Unfortunately, you can’t control human nature. But thanks for trying.
