JL Edwardian Advent Calendar Reviews

I have tried using JLEdwardianAdventCalendar and have not been successful. I have sent two emails for help and have not received any response. I wouldn’t waist your money on this.

I can’t get the calendar to work properly on my iPad. It’s full of bugs. It won’t let you use it fully unless you log on to the Jaquie Lawson site through JLEdwardianAdventCalendar , but the latter gets stuck on a loop saying “attempting to log you in…” and it never does. Hence, you cannot access the full functionality of the calendar. I hope you add a bug fix soon. This is a disaster. I have paid a lot of money to send this calendar to my whole list of family members and friends and those of them using it on a tablet or iPad are also having trouble.

One star for being such a B to install!!! Really! Why is it so Fn difficult to work? I pay for it and then it takes 20 minutes of emails and passwords to install it and I have a brand new iPad Air. . Last time I’m doing this. Seriously people do we need this digital crap? I thought I did but I’m done. Make it real and enjoy your family and neighbors. 2022 iPad Air for sale.

I’ve been buying these calendars for years and loving them. This year the first couple of days worked, then not only did it quit working but it keeps asking for payment that I’ve already done. My sister is having the same problem. I contacted them for a live chat and no one ever answered. Then, I sent them an email that no one has bothered to answer. I won’t buy ever again.

Won’t let me login to the calendar that was purchased for me and customer service isn’t responding to my request for help.

The calendar is beautiful with a lot of fun surprises. There are too many issues. I cannot access many items and have to keep deleting and reinstalling JLEdwardianAdventCalendar . Then I lose everything. Today, reinstalling won’t even work. It’s very frustrating. I would like my money back honestly.

I bought it for myself and for 3 friends. One friend wrote in immediately, looking for help to get it to work (so far, no luck). Mine stopped working on Dec. 4. Very disappointing! Not like this is the first year JL has had advent calendars.

This calendar is disgusting. I added the update because the first video - bringing in the tree never played right. After the update that was to fix problem, none of the daily videos opened. All I get is that infernal circle spinning around. No matter how you tap to start, circle just keeps going round and round. I hope the creator reads this because it is difficult to write to them on their web site.👎👎👎

My mother, sister and I have been enjoying the JL advent calendars for years. This year was a disappointment, I’m very sorry to say. I did love searching for animals each day, that was enjoyable. However, if you look at the main scene - where’s Christmas? Where are the lights, decorations - any signs of the season? It was bare, cold, and actually slightly depressing. In past years there were trees with lights, wreaths, decorations, children sledding, snowmen, fireworks, Santa at Christmas and so much more. This year, nothing. Lonely (although cute) animals out in the snow. Please, less videos, more entertainment and more outdoor holiday decor and excitement next year!

Every year I look forward to the Jacquie Lawson advent calendar. This year I was super excited because it is extraordinarily similar to Downton Abbey. This is a disappointing and frankly boring advent calendar. There are clitches. There is really nothing to look at outside. Nothing to explore. Very little to decorate inside and nothing to decorate at all on the outside. The animals are too easy to find. I can’t imagine purchasing the 2024 calendar. Please consider creating content worthy of your reputation.

Huge fan of the advent calendars. Absolutely adored Sussex 2022- Just the right blend of quaint village, tons of fun games, and whimsy. This one is a little boring for me. Beautiful music, games etc but just feels stuffy. If it was the first one I ever did I’d probably love it but was spoiled by last year’s. Didn’t love London 2021 either- was a little too modern. . Adored Nordic 2020 and that’s what got me hooked. Hope next year they do another village theme - part of the fun is being immersed and exploring a fantasy world.

The last really fun one was the Nordic one with the gnomes. Each year since they gotten less enjoyable with more videos to watch & less fun things to do.

This year’s “main” scene is almost entirely a bunch of trees where you’re to look for a new animal or bird every day.

The graphics aren’t as good & already too many videos instead of fun things to do. The flower arrangement thing was just frustrating.

I’ve bought this not just for myself but as gifts too for years & this year everyone is disappointed.

I’m not sure I’ll buy these in the future.

I so loved last year’s Advent calendar, and I was excited for this year’s. But, sadly, it’s really a dud. Instead of a fun and engaging village square, we get a bunch of trees in front of a distant manor house. The zany find-a-gnome daily activity is gone. And the activities just aren’t any fun. Very disappointed.

This year’s JL advent calendar manages to be beautiful, boring, and barely even holiday-oriented. I’ve bought them and gifted them from the start and this is the worst one. Granted it has beautiful graphics and at least the developers listened to some of last year’s feedback. JL is just lucky there is no competition. I’ll keep buying because it’s the “only game in town”, but it’s been sad since American Greetings took over JL. The magic is gone. The focus on the animals was a bad choice—boring and obvious—no challenge or fun to it. What does a peacock walking on a terrace have to do with the holidays? The Edwardian era introduced beautiful holiday shop windows, so is there a focus on shops? Not a one. The scene is stoic and wintery—the people walking about robotic, the animals predictable, the kite flying ridiculous, the scene narrow but oddly deep in a way that you can’t appreciate it. Sorry, developers—you kept the impactful beauty but no life and very little festivity.

I miss the village theme. Peering at the distant Manor House (as well as all the other buildings) thru trees is disappointing. Instead of busy villagers preparing for the holiday, we have lots of ppl riding horses or walking aimlessly. I reactivated my Sussex calendar and I’m enjoy replaying it more.

I have looked forward to this advent calendar for the past 5 years. Honestly, there were many key components I missed this year—the snowman, outside tree lights and other features (store displays, light poles) that changed when you touched them and the interactive nature of the scene in general. I loved the year we found the gnomes, and then they turned up on the game room bookshelf and sing Merry Christmas on the 25th. Perhaps if the animals we find each day had culminated in an outside parade?? Fingers crossed for next year?!?

I loved this advent calendar last year, however, this year each day on the daily box ie today is December 3rd…, the box will not close even though I touch on the X to close it. So it’s stuck. been happening three days in a row now. In order to fix this I have to delete and upload JLEdwardianAdventCalendar again and then it loses all my saved features. Please fix this and yes I have the latest iOS update done. Otherwise I really like JLEdwardianAdventCalendar. Thank you!

This is a very adorable and interactive advent calendar. However, you only get the first few days for free. After that, you have to buy JLEdwardianAdventCalendar for the rest of its content for, if I remember correctly, $7.00. 😔

I love this advent calendar. however it has been a few problems for instance the solitaire games do not work at all and there are like 3 of them, also there are so many puzzles and they are not very fun

I still love this particular brand of advent calendar but when advertises what we can do based based on illustrations & doesn’t deliver its a bit dishonest for example today it shows we can design our own tapestry and we look to see how it works and it doesn’t deliver the promise that we can create own that’s as it shows in the illustration on the website that’s definitely misleading although JLEdwardianAdventCalendar is beautifully Illustrated it is a bit disappointing in conclusion make that promise that JLEdwardianAdventCalendar will do as implied regardless of the device we use

The 2023 advent calendar ended up being a delight (loved that all the original games were included along with many new ones!). Unfortunately the ‘slow reveal’ technique used this year made the outdoor scenes feel two dimensional and uninviting for the first half of the month. The house windows were all dark and there was no cute village to stroll through and re-decorate. The sitting room held all the action, and each day a new gift provided more fun and games. By the end it was a blast, but it was a shame to have to wait half the season to really enjoy the beauty of the outdoor scenes.

I buy an advent calendar for myself and my friends every year. We love them, discuss them and it gets us into the festive spirit.

I feel like I’m being really picky - but we have all got used to such a high standard I’m afraid and it is a purchased game.

This is my first year and I must say…I am in LOVE! Everything is adorable, from the kitten to the art to the recipes. Thanks for proving such a beautiful game for the season! I’ll be back next year to purchase!

This is lovely advent calendar for all ages. Some games or activities need a little more skill and time to do them properly but really anyone can do it. JLEdwardianAdventCalendar is visually very appealing and almost puts you at peace when interacting with it. I enjoy it every year. Some may enjoy certain years more than others but the fact that they create a brand new world every year is a good thing and keeps you coming back. My 7 year old boy enjoys JLEdwardianAdventCalendar and I make him turn the music up when he is playing on it. It’s the only app he plays on that I LOVE the music. So cheery yet tranquil.

$8 is a bit steep for an advent calendar app, but what you get definitely justifies that price tag! This is one of the most beautiful and well thought out apps I’ve ever seen in JLEdwardianAdventCalendar Store. It’s easy to see that an insane amount of effort was put into it: for the art, the music, the mini games, the level of customization, the history, and so on. There’s so much to do and it really helps me put aside the concerns of the day and get into the Christmas spirit for as long as I’m using JLEdwardianAdventCalendar . JLEdwardianAdventCalendar is in another stratosphere compared to the other advent calendar apps on JLEdwardianAdventCalendar Store. Highly recommended!

This was simply everything special and fun one could hope for. The details were so good, and the variety of activities was unreal. I know I won’t be able to find this kind of satisfaction from an advent again, which is the only bad thing about it. BRAVO Jacquie

This is my second advent calendar and I really enjoyed it. I loved finding the daily animals hidden. The games were fun, but I had a lot of trouble with the marble game. I’m sad that it has come to and end, but I will continue playing it.

It really is full of magical surprises! There is plenty to do already—puzzles and games and beautiful music! Thank you for bringing some of my old favorites back. It is lovely to hear Corelli again. I always look forward to these Advent calendars but I think 2023 is going to be extra good. Thanks again!

So few things really exceed expectations the way this advent calendar does. I really love how immersive it feels opening JLEdwardianAdventCalendar every day to see what’s new. It’s nice also to just hang out in the house and listen to the music or redecorate something or play one of the many relaxing games. The art is so gorgeous and the stories are so sweet and wholesome. I recommend it everywhere I go.

I’ve done these calendars for 3 years now and they are so much fun! There is so much content! Recipes, decorating your house on JLEdwardianAdventCalendar , new weather each day on the scene, puzzles, videos, and this year a beautiful watercolor sketchbook with a new animal search each day. I love to show the videos to my kids too!

I’ve used Jacquie Lawson cards for many years and they just keep getting better and better! My friends really enjoy them as much as I enjoy sending them. But the absolute best is their Advent Calendar. I can’t believe how much I love the calendar. I look forward to it each year! Thanks Jacquie Lawson

I’m doing exactly what the instructions are saying, I.e. tapping a marble and move it over a next marble (diagonally only)….except, the moved-over marble is not removed from the board. Help, please.

I’ve been doing this advent calendar for the past 3 years and it’s so much fun! The music is absolutely beautiful!!

The time that was put into this interactive advent calendar is amazing! I am so glad I purchased this! It’s got so much joy that I need right now! Thank you for this little bit of positivity. Everyday so far I get excited to see what’s next to open!

I had JLEdwardianAdventCalendar for about 5 years and this years theme is Edwardian. It looks amazing and I’m loving every minute. The attention detail is awesome and very entertaining. I decorated my tree, designed my drawing room, played games, puzzles and flower arrangements . It’s only day 3 and can’t wait to do the rest.

I’m 17 now and I’ve loved the Jacquie Lawson Advent calendar since I was little and my adoptive nonna gifted it to us every year! Since she couldn’t see us it was her way of being with us through December. The games are so fun, and now nostalgic, to play. My favorite is still decorating cookies! The animations are super cute and the music is nice to listen to, it definitely adds to the experience :) I hope everyone can find some winter joy out of it! Thank you developers for making a lovely game!

This will be my third season with this holiday count down to Christmas and it's truly delightful. Each day brings some fun, gifts even, and games to play. It brightens this time of year for me in so many ways. Thank you!

I just downloaded in the 2023 Edwardian Advent calendar. Of course it’s too early to actually activate the days. However, from what I’ve seen so far it’s gorgeous. I’ve already decorated my tree! But what I wanted to really say is that I love when developers listen and respond to comments. Last year my particular complaint was that the kittens and the dog were missing. Well, they are back this year and they move to different positions in the room, sometimes on the couch, on the floor etc.
