Strange Data

I use multiple sleep tracking apps, all of which sync with Apple Health. I installed Peaks, allowed access to my other data, yet it insists my bedtime should be 4 AM. The routines it prescribes run such wildly inaccurate times, and none of it makes sense. There are no settings to correct these times, as apparently it makes its own calculations. It has a reasonable sleep goal (6.5 hrs), knows when I want to wake up (around 7), but still suggests 4 AM bedtime.

There are much better and more reliable tracking tools out there that give ACCURATE information, so I’d hard pass on this one.

Another spam app

According to AppAdvice is a free lifetime offer… but nope, more spam

App is Crazy

Telling me to have dinner at 4:40 AM and telling me to go to bed at 10:30 AM and sleep for 21 hours.

I know that I’m behind in my sleep, but dinner time and time to go to bed are way off.

This could be a bug caused due to me being behind sleep.

But, as it stands, it is useless for me.

Maybe other don’t have any sleep problems ans they aren’t behind in their sleep.

I use AutoSleep and it imported close to 800 days of data.

I also do go to bed rather late, around 1:30 AM.

I guess my late bedtimes and problems sleeping and naps are throwing it’s algorithms way off.

Still Can't Change Sleep Goal

I like the addition of the Sleep Forecast, but it doesn't do a lot of good if I can't tell Peaks when I want to wake up

Good start

I like the functionality, assessment and recommendations, but I’m not sure if Peaks actually tracks sleep or just reads sleep data from Apple health. I can’t tell whether Peaks will track my sleep if I turn off sleep tracking on from any other app that is tracking sleep. With that in mind, I don’t have a perspective on how well it tracks sleep compared to other sleep tracking apps.

I’ve used the premium versions of the top rated four or five sleep tracking apps extensively over the past 10+ years, and in my experience, the quality of auto sleep tracking differs greatly between apps. The absence of smart alarm functionality for overnight sleep and power naps based on circadian rhythm is the most obvious shortcoming compared to competing apps. All of that said, I like the UI and the info it provides so far… though I’ve only used Peaks for a couple of weeks.

A lot of this kind of apps either costs a fortune or looks like crap, neither of those could be said about this one. It looks really nice and smooth, costs affordable and brings the value (as much as it could).

Quality

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Peaks. The info about sleep data and circadian rhythm alone is useful, but then throw in the new “routines” and you have something extremely cool. I’ve never seen an app present this sort of daily routine guidance, let alone do it in such a clean way.

Great job with Peaks , looking forward to seeing where y’all head with it. I’ll be using it frequently!

Pretty much dead on

When I started using Peaks, one of the first things I noticed was the notifications on my watch seemed to pop up and tell me to do something I was about to do (study, make a decision). One time I was actually saying the words "I need a nap" when I was interrupted by the notification to take a nap.

If all Peaks did was echo how I was feeling, there wouldn't be a need for it. It's usefulness comes in helping to plan parts of my day and in the insights it brings when I'm not so self-aware. The advice about when to stop things like caffeine are also helpful.
