It pains me to not give it 5 star

As an honest review, I have to force myself to rate this game at a 4 star. Why? Well, to begin, the reason I found it difficult to NOT rate it a 5 star is because the game looks amazing and there is a lot of effort put into characters, environments, enemies, etc. visually, in terms of aesthetics and fluidity.

The issue with the game is that it’s the same repetitive process of game progression styles to those other games such as PGR and smaller games, except this one is more toward the ones of smaller games where there are tons of currencies, activities, and things to pay attention to. Also, the story did not seem engrossing at the start which lead to me skipping 50-80% of it throughout playing.

I would’ve loved to see this game do well such as arknights and the such, but it sadly lacks something “new” fundamentally which will not take it far. It really depresses me.

i guess its okay

well im giving it 4 stars because i feel like almost everything on the game shop you have to pay for. Not one thing is avalible for game items on the little game shop. I find this a bit unfair and sometimes a waste of money if you keep wanting something on the shop and you have have to keep paying and paying your money. I really want this character but it has to cost up to $10 which i find very unfair. I feel i should give this a 3/5 but since its a preety good game exept the money a 4/5 will do. But pls make the game a little more fair so you wont havw to waste to much money.

Darkness

I want to give this five stars but I can't. I've seen the ads and thought it looked amazing and wanted to give it a try. I saw the intro cutscenes and already started to like it. When I got to the beginning of the story, there was a bit of glitching but that was fine for me. Here comes the part where I took a star off, the gameplay and cutscenes going forward are black. I can't see anything. I still hear their voices but that's about it. I can't see the characters either on the character page. Please take the time to look into this problem.

Has potential!

Aether Gazer feels a lot like a mix between Punishing: Gray Raven and Honkai 3rd with Genshin-style leveling and equipment—but it has its own interesting take on the sub-genre. If you are familiar with those, you will feel right at home here.

The combat is engaging with multiple skills which work together and often combo with one another. Characters each have mechanics that feel unique and have likable designs.

It’s difficult to judge how good a gacha will be on day one (I am unfamiliar with the Chinese server), but this one has promise so far, seems rather generous, and the developer and publisher are established and trustworthy having made and published some great games in the past.

That said, the quality does not feel totally on par with some of those other big-names, nothing really stands out as exceptional to me, and there are some quality of life features that are missing, but all-in-all, I think it’s worth giving it a try.

Great game

I’m writing this so the devs themselves can see it in hopes to bring out more positivity for the game. I’m very critical when it comes to mobile games. I look for games that give me a wide range of “f2p” as well as a freedom of choice when it comes to “in game currency”. As long as the game doesn’t fully benefit from buying the in game currency like for example

1. Advancing through the at an accelerated rate compared to the f2p players

2. Making your units extremely stronger from a few packs/bundles

So far from what I’ve played the game seems to not have that. I do notice the bundles an packs but they aren’t advertised in a crazy manner, I respect it, especially as a player that looks to have long term enjoyment in a mobile game.

Overall, devs I do enjoy the game. As long as it stays like this I’ll continue to play it an maybe buy things here an there when I feel like having fun with stuff ingame.

Action RPG done right

I have played many gacha games and action RPG’s on mobile, but this game checks all the right boxes. I usually re-roll extensively for the character I want and I did some for Aether Gazer, but then read that with the $5 monthly card you get 1 S-Rank selector from the starting units. There is also a 70 pull pity system and on the “weapon” banner you chose a faction then you can choose the signature one for the character you have. So guess what, I started playing and enjoining the action, creating teams and having a blast! Great game!

It’s pretty good

I just tear apart AetherGazer store in search of good anime style RPG games and this one was announced about a month ago and I preordered. The pull rates for 5* is pretty good. The gameplay has unique features but doesn’t get too complex. The layout is pretty standard to most anime RPG games on mobile and doesn’t add anything new, but still keeps you busy with things to do.

I would love more interactive content with the characters. Some sort of side development or character story building would be awesome. Other than that it’s a good game

Very fun to play so far

I am a big fan of anime style games, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Honkai Impact, Tower of fantasy. This is more similar to Honkai impact and Tower of fantasy, but in my opinion it is better than ToF. The gameplay feels really smooth, the art is nice, ui is a bit confusing at first but you get used to it. I like how it isn’t just a Honkai Impact clone, it definitely feels like a different game. Character designs are ok at best, a bit basic but they do have some personality. Would definitely recommend to players who like games similar to Honkai or ToF.

CONTROLLER SUPPORT PLEASE!!!

WHAT IS IT with these devs and their LACK of controller support at launch!!!! Good gosh man! You’d think in 2023 they would consider all input types! This game is absolutely amazing but I’m sorry I gotta review bomb it simply because it should be self explanatory how popular controllers are for mobile gaming now. Especially with the rise of Backbone, Razer and others. Not to mention Xbox n PS Bluetooth connectivity being so easy now.

UPDATE:

Controller support has been added! This game is absolutely PERFECT now! Thank you devs for such a QUICK response! 5 STARS!

Amazing game so far

I thought the game was going to be bad because of all the TikTok ads and stuff and thought the game would be nothing like the ads but the game went WAY above my expectations and is so amazing so far. I love the character designs and characters so much and the graphics are amazing and the game is fun to play. Good job to the team ! Hope the game continues to be good with good updates. Also the game is very optimized and my phone doesn't get hot even on max settings 60fps

Keeps crashing

I’m only rating it this low because I literally cannot play the game. It keeps crashing in the same spot for me. During the first big fight in the prologue that happens once the third character joins your team. I’ve seen a few other people have this problem too so that’s interesting. And using the customer service feature did absolutely nothing. I gave them all the details I could, but after a bit more than a day I got no answers and it ended with an automated “Please rate our customer service 😆” message. bro it was BAD there’s your rating 💀 anyways so much for playing on launch day. I was really looking forward to it too.

Crashes

The game continues over and over every time I first finish chapter 1 (when I’m rolling accounts). Although the gacha rates for me are personally terrible, the game itself is incredible. The play style is fun and interesting but the characters are alright, on the first page that I saw of the game the character design looked a lot like kiana, raiden mei, and kazuha.

Overall the game is great and I hope to see the future updates that the game holds. :)

Stands out from the many

I really enjoy Aether, the combat is very nice and the power creep in this game isn’t crazy. If you like fighting games with combos and rewards the player for dodging skills and abilities then this game is also for you. At the moment there is a slight lack of content which is understandable since the game just released but from what it looks like, they’re adding a lot more events which is great.

Amazing Game❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

For everyone the game started Just now so they will add more in the future also you need to have a good device to play nowadays games because the graphics will be superior when you have a good device and also the gameplay, so do not give low rates because your devices doesn’t support the graphics or the game that’s your problem, the game is amazing ❤️

Uh ignore the 1-4 stars review

Those people don’t know what there talking about the game is extremely f2p friendly leveling up isn’t so bad grinding is good but people say it’s to hard of a game it’s not there just a skill issue it’s really really easy and it doesn’t hurt getting a A rank character bc there’s ways to level them up to S make there combat power really really good I recommend

Surprise

Now I don’t do reviews truly don’t but this game in particular has l caught my eye. Truly if you play games like HKR and PGR you’ll love this game. Now if you like combat of Pgr and mechanisms like hk3 this is your game. NOW I’ve played since launch on mobile, this game is VERY free to play, the GACHA isn’t like GENSHIn or others, this one is actually really cheap coming to the in game currency for wishes. So please play it and try it. There’s more to come

By

what i’d like

good game but after the user finishes the campaign and other stuff if doesn’t want to do the other things. maybe add an open world like genshin impact and tower of fantasy to try and jeep the user interest I know the game is still new and hopefully it’ll add more characters and maybe more to the story or not but i’d keep playing the game if it becomes an open world mmo/rpg type of game a little more than what it is right now.

By

Have fun

I think the game’s overall great, fun combat and cool characters. The graphics look nice and I’ve had zero problems during my gameplay. So I’m looking forward to the future of this game.

Some of the bad reviews should not be taken seriously. Please give the game a try if you’re interested to form an opinion of your own before taking someone’s else word for it.

Honkai Impact 3rd & PGR’s Kid

Okay if you're too scared to get into Hi3 due to it being older but also not trying to play something as flashy and sweaty as pgr

Then this will fill that gap for you,

The summoning- It has the dreaded 50/50 but all the games coming out nowadays seems to have it. 70 pulls for the first 50/50 and another 70 to guarantee (1800 gems per multi)

The gameplay- You only control one character in a team of 3 with the other two being controlled by AI, but the AI is actually competent. Which is pretty refreshing

Characters- Everyone has a unique design and everything for someone

Seems interesting

I’ve been playing a lot of gatcha anime type battle games like these. But this one has a unique take on combat it still does offer your regular skills and stuff but the 3 player combat is new. We’ll still have to wait for more time as it just launched. Hope it’s free to play friendly

By

Underrated

This game is overshadowed by PGR and HI3, and after playing through AG, I found this game to be worth your leisure because it respects your time, the dailies don’t even take 5 minutes, it’s a game that you play, not a game who plays you. The story is fully voiced, and the kits of the characters are interesting. If you’re reading this, you’re curious about it, and if you’re curious, just try it.

By

excellent but-

i honestly want to rate this game 5 stars since i very love it! BUT the problem is the game usually crashes, although my device never crashes when play games like honkai or genshin. But with this game it crashes frequently:((
Still don’t know how to reduce it (this game’s settings is mid even though the other game’s settings is high)

GENEROUS GAME!

This game is INSANELY generous. Coming from miserable Genshin Impact, I was ready for another game to consume my money. Usually If I don’t get the character I want, I spend money until I do, but I seem to always win my 50/50, which is rare.👁👁

Sadly, while this is fantastic for players, I do believe it’ll be the games downfall :( a lot of players don’t care for skins or battle pass and pride themselves on being free to play. But I do my part to support the game with battle pass and skin purchases.

I hope I’m wrong and this game actually has a long life ahead cause I love this games aesthetic and gameplay.

A nice side game

This is one of the few gacha games that respects your time. Go in and do your routine for around 5-10 minutes then you can go about your day. Rinse and repeat. Easy to play and no need to follow what is “meta.” You can build whoever you want to build without being left behind. Also this is one of the few actual f2p games. You can play this game as a free 2 play and not spend a dime to be comfortable. I would recommend spending on a monthly on this game given how generous they are to support the game but you do not have to if you do not want to. I have played similar games like this but Aether Gazer is simply the one game that will respect you. If you feel overwhelmed with what is meta on other games, give this game a shot and go casual. It will be a chill and fun experience.

Very promising

Good: balanced difficulty, fair build tuning, fine outfits, decent rewards, focus on combat, very farmable gacha, extra effort to deliver QoL early, music from Vanguard Sound, cooler kits than Genshin: S Tsuku, S Hades, A Buzenbo are what Ei, Yae, Shinobu should’ve been.

Mixed: combat design can be unrewarding, just mash skills and ult, little timing and spacing. Some exceptions: S Tsuku (greatly) and S Hades (less so) reward finesse not mashing.

Bad: English voiceovers and can’t delete them, translation mistakes, rare bugs. The 50/50 gacha can be awful if not for the 2+% rate, expanding pool, and weapons exemption, so not nearly as bad as Genshin.

Zoned in 🌟🔥

I don’t write reviews for mobile games…I’m a console gamer, been one since the 90’s…and I honestly have to say this game has my full attention. I dropped $10 to support the devs (so far) but this game is very giving with supplies, characters, experience points, energy, There’s barely any limitation if you grind and go hard at it. I work and have a family so I don’t put in as much time as I’d like but when I take a break from Starfield and I’m not home this game gets my full attention. Great game guys, I suggest y’all download it and be with them from the beginning because after time passes and it becomes popular the freebies get replaced. 5/5. Amazing visuals, strong story, great characters, lightning fast gameplay and just overall non-greedy f2p tactics. You have a new fan 🌟

Streamlined Action

I personally like this game over PGR because like someone else mentioned, it respects my time when it comes to dailies. I always hated those unnecessary chores of building a base or taking care of your characters in chibi forms. It’s like, I downloaded the game for the action, not a day care sim. I’ve heard other reviews mention combat complexity and I’d have to agree that some characters can be mashy, but there are different archetypes, like for instance I like playing characters that are counter centric. I personally enjoyed this game a lot for the past couple months and would recommend it for people who don’t want to feel like there in a committed relationship.

First Time Playing this Game - AMAZING

Aether Gazer is definitely a good and eye-catching RPG game. I really adore the animations, characters, and voice acting. The animations are truly incredible, the details and other elements are really cool! I don’t know why, but I feel like the animations are familiar, but that’s what made me love it more for some reason! Most of the characters’ designs are perfectly balanced, none of them are too much or too little. The gameplay of each character are very different, interesting, and unique. The voice-acting isn’t boring and simple at all, it truly adds to the characters’ personality instead. I’ve played a few RPG games in the past and whenever I continue playing them, I get bored and delete the game. Most RPG games aren’t really for me, but this one hasn’t made me bored at all. I usually end up skipping the dialogue, but I haven’t skipped through the storyline once! Aether Gazer is such a good game and I plan to continue playing it!

Very Impressed

I don’t remember how I came across this game but as a long time player of PGR since global launch, I am VERY impressed with this game! I stopped playing gray raven as often because battles dragged on and on and I don’t have all the time to play games. I decided to try this one out and gosh dang it’s a keeper! Battles don’t drag on as long which I really needed and makes me enjoy it more, but the characters fighting styles blew my mind away!! They’re so fluid and so different from on another. This game is a hands down must try!

I love this game but please allow us to play this game while playing music at the same time 😭

Okay sorry for the long title but you have to understand how cool it is to play this game while having music on. This game is so much fun to me especially with the different kinds of characters designs, along with the outfits. The fact you can make any specific characters have a duo ability is so amazing to me as well, I just really want to play this game with headphones on and play my own music at the same time. Overall best game I’ve found and played for almost a year now!
