Not user friendly-nothing like the examples

Hardest app I’ve ever used. There aren’t any directions. You just have to start clicking and hope it works the way you want. It won’t allow me to export anything. Calendars are annoying. I can’t save any templates. Now, after paying for the premium for a year, I’m trying to get my money back and subscription cancelled. I was so excited about using this too! What a disappointment. No one will answer my emails! I do not want charged for this horrible app. The example pictures look great, too bad they won’t save my templates I’ve worked on.

Omg! Pretty but has bugsss

Let me just start insane that the graphics are amazing and the design is beautiful, but there were negative and positives. Negative: the AI feature was not helpful but I think it has a great potential to be a wonderful thing. There are limited things you can do even if you subscribe and Pay. Found it hard to put on stickers. You don’t get a lot of pre-downloaded stickers to choose from and notes etc. to choose from.
Positive: everything about PencilCalendar is super pretty and very aesthetic. I loved the pre-downloaded stickers and there was a lot about PencilCalendar that change the font you can customize how you want to do your notes and you can draw on it.
Payment: I honestly think that apps like this should be more affordable but I understand that people need to make money off their products
The end: this was a good app but there are some things that need to be fixed. I would recommend PencilCalendar two people static and like doing things kind of DIY on an iPad or a phone but I don’t recommend this to someone who just wants to get things done.

Beware of AI stickers

First thing PencilCalendar introduced me to was the AI sticker generator. Sounded fun, asked my daughter to give me a prompt. We went with “catdog in comic style” aka Nickelodeon catdog, or just cat and dog combo animal you would think, and… I just don’t understand how that would translate to top-nude humanoid cat and dog characters. Disturbing.

Tried so many other things like “cute fruit bat” and “cute capybara” and… no. Just. No. I don’t really understand why the AI has a leaning to humanoid animals. A couple of times, an image generated was not shown because it was banned content??? Banned content because I wanted to see what “cute capybara” looked like??????? What??????

But even when it got it “right” - such as when I typed in “German shepherd looking adorable with big eyes”, there seems to be a general “style” that isn’t appealing, and not a lot of variation. It seems incapable of doing styles such as sketch or watercolor (which is funny because “watercolor rainbow” is a hint prompt set up by PencilCalendar ). Pity, because the stickers that come with PencilCalendar already are very cute and sweet looking.

Not for me. That was a big turn off. But the entire interface aside from that seemed alright. I just. I’ve seen things I can’t unsee now.

Good in theory

PencilCalendar has a great concept - unfortunately it is lacking in execution. The load time for designs is terrible. I was waiting for over 10 minutes just to see background designs and they still didn’t all load. Second - you can’t save any templates you make! So once you are done designing your only option is to clear the template and start over. Third-it’s not easy to use. I tried entering stuff in the text box and it keeps clicking out and I am constantly restarting. Fourth- certain displays show all my events happening at the same time but when you click into it, the correct time is shown. So quick views are inaccurate. I reached out for support but I don’t want to pay for PencilCalendar and my free trial is almost over. I will be deleting PencilCalendar and moving on.

I liked this App but…

I never write a review but since I was not successful with contacting the developer I decided maybe this is the best way to voice my concerns.
I like PencilCalendar, I subscribed because I thought I would get more features. I was not able to cut and paste duplicate events on to several dates. The icons were limited with the subscription.
I placed everything on PencilCalendar all events, Doctor appointments and work schedule, it took all day,
It was extremely Frustrating when PencilCalendar would not open so I could view my next doctor appointment. I emailed the developer 1st. Then ultimately deleted PencilCalendar , reloaded it and it still didn’t work. So now deleted permanently and I still have 7 months for this subscription. Very disappointed.

Nice but glitchy

PencilCalendar is cute, helps you get creative, has nice stickers, it organizes things to your own style as well as helps you visually see all task/priorities. The only problem is that it is very glitchy, like the amount of glitches it has is crazy. I believe PencilCalendar definitely needs improvement because the majority of the things I edit into my calendar move around. For example when I rotate the screen on my tablet from vertical to horizontal and vise versa everything that I edit will be in totally different positions and spots, when I want do delete something it doesn’t delete at all, it just does whatever it wants lol. PencilCalendar has great potential and I want to keep it but please fix these issues.

Lots of problems

First there is no tutorial. You have to find your way around on your own. Second. The “day” mode only shows you have something there. Just not what. I don’t want to click on something to see I have an appointment. I want to see the appointment. And let’s talk about wasted space. The right hand side box is far too small to be useful. A lot of wasted real estate around the box. There is plenty of space to enlarge this in the next update. You have to constantly resize to over 100% to write anything. As cute as it is I think even a kid would get frustrated. A busy adult would quickly ditch it. On the plus side it grabbed my calendar immediately. Kudos!

Edit: New update is not great :(

Unfortunately the newest update has made PencilCalendar nothing but frustrating! It’s annoying to have to wait on the “pencil calendar” graphic to spell out almost every time you open PencilCalendar . Also the day of the week columns on the overview of each month do not line up correctly at all on my calendar. This is EXTREMELY frustrating when trying to navigate quickly to schedule the correct days for customer appointments. With the new update I immediately noticed an excessive lag writing with my Apple Pencil, it truly is terrible!! I love the concept and there is great potential but I would love to see these issues resolved QUICKLY!!!

Almost Got It

Has a lot of potential, off to a great start, and I absolutely love the template-sharing platform that this has going for it…. Although it still feels incredibly bone dry when it comes to toolbar features and editing options. While it is a solid app, the customization selection is bare minimum which is very frustrating since PencilCalendar does inspire creativity, it just doesn’t have most of the necessary tools needs to unleash that creativity. It’s almost there.

I understand the payment, but it’s a little expensive for easy features.

Like, yes PencilCalendar is cute, and pretty but you are not going to get a lot of stuff done (in my opinion) what with the stickers and colors. They are cute and I’m all for DIY but then there’s the price. I would keep PencilCalendar if more features (that I can easily get on OTHER apps) were free. #🆓4Ever Im sorry developers, you did great but PencilCalendar is not for someone in a budget looking to get stuff down. I downloaded five of these kinds of apps: Structured, Pencil Calendar, School, Habit, and digital planner. The best is probably School, and it’s free, no subscriptions required. I would definitely recommend. I’m not advertising, but if you’re looking for something to track your school schedule and homework, ding ding! 🛎️

Positives and negatives

Not to be mean or anything, but why are the pen options the same as the ones on “Notes”? And every time I try to type something in the text box it logs me out of my keyboard. I’m like “Hello? I’m trying to type something here!” This to me is very frustrating. Other than those two things PencilCalendar is pretty good! I really like the function that lets you make your own stickers. I can really get into detail about how I want the sticker to be. Thank you for reading my review.

3/10

I liked it but I had some negatives and positives. Negatives: So at first I loved it and used it for like an hour but then I got out of it for a few minutes went back on it and it was all jumbled up so then I thought maybe one of my family members messed it up as a joke so I re-did it and once I finished and I was done I went back on it to show my sister and it was jumbled up again so I didn’t think it was one of my family members anymore and I started to get annoyed ( meanwhile this is in the same day ) so I fixed it AGAIN and while I was fixing it, it got jumbled up and I was done so yeah. Also there you would really only get 5 sticker which was dumb other wise you would have to pay for the other stickers . Positives: I give it a three out of ten because there was some cute stickers on it and if it did work I would probably give it a 10/10 and you did get to customize some stickers but that’s it.

Please fix the app :/

I really wanted to love this planner. I work full time and barely started my masters so I need to plan my daily activities. I decided to start the free trial and worked with PencilCalendar for about 40 min, locked the iPad and when I opened PencilCalendar back, everything was mixed up! Please fix that because I really want to buy PencilCalendar. Also, I want to be able to copy and paste the templates that I create, maybe it’s me that I don’t know how to use PencilCalendar , if you could create a tutorial would it be awesome. It’s a great planner that I would love to buy, but I hope you guys can fix it first.

good but…

So this is a very good and fun app to remind yourself of many things you may forget. But there are some negative things to it.
1. Almost every template in there costs money and only like 4 or 5 templates are free. And you may not want to be paying money just for all the other templates.

But this is a very amazing and fantastic app! So you should download it! As you can write down many things on each day. You can also switch to different months and days, weeks, and much more! abut just beware that there are still some negatives about it.

Why this app is really good

I like PencilCalendar because I can keep on track of everything I do and I’m a very young age kid so this is a really good app. I can get my birthdays written down and write down all the stuff I have to do I can put peoples birthdays. One thing I do not like about PencilCalendar is that you have to buy a lot of stuff and I’m just a young kids. I don’t want to buy stuff but this is good at app after all just the buying part is bad.

Would recommend but..

I think PencilCalendar is very nice. But it has a few thing I personally don’t. Example I love the stickers feature but the AI has trouble getting what you want so I use pre-made ones, but almost all of them are premium, and I do not have the extra money for that sadly. In conclusion it would be nice to have a little bit more for the nonprescription members. Still PencilCalendar is very help other wise.

Very nice!

I’ve been using PencilCalendar for planning, and it’s been a game-changer! Being able to add doodles, notes, and images directly on my calendar makes organizing so much more fun and creative. I love customizing the colors and layouts to fit my style, and the icloud sync is super handy for keeping everything accessible. It’s made planning feel less like a chore and more like something I actually enjoy doing

Amazing

PencilCalendar is amazing because it lets you style stuff it’s a perfect app
for your support stuff you have to do and even birthdates lets you put it in your calendar and PencilCalendar is amazing I recommend PencilCalendar for adults and if you have children if they have to do stuff you could write it down and everything will be under control because PencilCalendar has been helping me so much

Amazing

PencilCalendar made my days amazing by actually organizing my schedule very easily and made me focus more on studies which is made for writing my studies on a neat and organized paper which there are many nice ways and designs and I’m on the way to buying premium but of course there’s free stuff for people who don’t have the money to buy the premium it will make u focus more than a math calculator always and PLEASE 🙏download PencilCalendar u won’t regret it 😀🌼❤️

The best organized app(recommend)

I usually don't get these app but i wanted too and this one caught my eye first. When i got it its like i met PencilCalendar i always wanted and its the best app and i highly recommend using this if you have OCD or are very organized, i have ADHD so i get organized sometimes and this helps me get very organized and not have anything mest up and its better that its a actual calendar instead of pages for/of notes and stuff. Im definitely using this everyday
