Change over from century link

The change form century link to brightspeed was a long process. Sent an email to reset password on the day I tried it. With absolutely no success. Had to enter my information over and over to no success. Very frustrating. Page would come up blank. No buttons on page would work. Very frustrating. Waited about a week tried again. Same problem. Kept at it entering info over and over. Very frustrating. Finally after numerous attempts it went through. This should of been a much easier process. Very frustrating. Called customer service had to listen to the automated person speaking with no options to help me with my problem. Said wait time was 129 ? What does that even mean. Of course did not get to speak to no one. I’m glad it is over. Again the experience was very FRUSTRATING. Should of been much easier.

Happy under CenturyLink, abysmal service under BrightSpeed

Had CenturyLink for years as only ISP offered at our address. Speeds only ok, but service was best I’ve had with an ISP. Speeds as advertised and very few outages. When outages happened, they’d have a tech out immediately to fix issues in our area and would often beat estimated fix times.

Now, first outage with BrightSpeed and the exact problems I read from others with them. Not a same day fix, nobody actually out working on issue, and then they continually move time back. Looking at DAYS without internet which impacts both our work and our downtime entertainment. Meanwhile, no answers from CS/Support or an acknowledgment even that nobody is working on it yet. Just be honest instead of giving made up placeholder times and then moving them back. Absolute garbage and multiple days without service when CL would fix things literally within a few hours.

Brightspeed Internet

Love the Brightspeed app, wish I could say the same for the internet service it’s self. It’s very slow, very unreliable, always resetting itself. In my area (out in the country) the very best they can offer is 1.5 mbps. I however very seldom even get that speed! My son pays the same amount I do with his internet provider and gets 100mbps! One would think they could at least provide 10mbps. Do better Brightspeed or lower the price!

Awful service

I never had any problem with CenturyLink and as soon as I get Brightspeed, I am told that my payment didn’t work and I need to update my payment information. OK my credit card that supposedly needs to be updated?? I just paid the bill with it! And I’ve been trying to get in to pay my bill and update my card that expires next month, but signing into my account has been a nightmare. And you keep sending me texts and emails saying I need to update my payment on a card that has not expired but there’s no number to call to talk to a person, nothing. The link you provided in the text doesn’t work. Awful so far! Do better!

Terrible App Access

As of Friday, I can no longer use the Century Link app to access my account & was told to download Brightspeed, which I have but BrightspeedInternet hasn’t worked. I continue getting a message saying “We are having trouble loading your account, please try again in a few minutes.” Which I have been doing for DAYS at this point. I called customer service on Friday & they stated they would forward my issue to their tech department & I would be sent a confirmation email, which I still haven’t received. This is ridiculous. I wish Century Link would’ve not been acquired by Brightspeed if I’m not going to be able to have app access.

Worst customer service ever

I called Brightspeed 5 times trying to fix my internet. After talking with 2 different customer support representatives, I was disconnected. Though I was asked several times if the number I provided was a good call back number, I received no call back. Additionally, each representative told me they were noting my account, which turned out to be a lie. After explaining what happened for the 5th time, I finally got the service I needed.
Each time, I was told “thank you for choosing Brightspeed”. Get this straight, I did NOT choose Brightspeed! Century Link sold out. I never had this problem with Century Link.

Web site

I have had nothing but trouble getting signed on. Not available. Talked to associate on the phone. They talked me trough it and sent me a reset password. Still did not work. Site is down too much. I cannot attempt to pay my bills all day long. I have a job. Fix BrightspeedInternet please I hope I don’t get a late charge

Terrible internet terrible service

Terrible internet that goes in and out all day long and terrible customer service that sounds like it’s not in the USA. They put you on hold for 20 minutes saying they are checking somethjng and don’t come back, they don’t understand the issues, they disconnect you, they don’t call you back when they say they will if they disconnect you. I’m using my phone as a hotspot the internet is so bad. Everything just so horrible. Century Link wasn’t this bad but after the change to Brightspeed it all went downhill.

Move from CenturyLink to Brightspeed

I open the box for the new router. I installed it for instructions two easy steps after two days of no success I called and bright speed said we sent you the wrong modem. Three more days. Install again two easy steps. Not true. Three days later trying to manage to SSDs in my system. I am presently and starting over with a new installation for the second modem or router. Not very happy.

Lack of problem status

For at least a full week people have been unable to download the security software, McAfee, that the ISP offers to protect against virus & other maladies. Customers call or chat but nothing is explained. Nothing is posted to offer status of the problem. It is not treated like an outage that would offer clarification of company efforts to restore normal service. Apologies are insufficient. Being sorry for customer frustration, 7 days of follow-up, doesn’t mean much. Having to navigate AI phone & Chat processes repeatedly is infuriating.

Horrible

The change over from CenturyLink to Brightspeed has been awful. I didn’t have issues accessing my account last month but this month good luck, I can’t change my password and the quick pay option via the website isn’t working either so I’m not sure how I’m suppose to pay my bill that is now late as I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a week. I’m really considering switching companies if it’s going to be this difficult to pay the bill.

By

Whoever

I am not happy! My internet drops 6 to 7 times a day and I am the only one on it!! Then I wanted to pay using my Ucard and y’all set my account up as only my debit card! I explained I was on fixed income and only get paid once a month and she told me I could pay how ever I wanted but now I can’t!! I also get food stamps and I am disable so I should get a cheaper rate but I was with Suddenlink and or Optimum for 18 years I haven’t been with y’all 1 month and I AM NOT HAPPY!!

Optimum

Terrible

I’m switched from Century Link to Brightspeed. I was told I could use my CenturyLink credentials. I downloaded the Brightspeed app. It was terrible! I tried 5 days in a row. I tried calling, I tried everything! I’ve changed my password so many times it’s ridiculous. The chat was also useless. I’m never late paying my bill but this switching caused my payment to be late. There should not be any late fees! I may have to change my service. CenturyLink was great!

By

Just awful

CenturyLink was bad enough but now they’ve handed me off to Brightspeed and it’s been just awful. After finally getting activated it ran for 2 hours. Things looked great then an outage. I read reviews about frequent outages but 2 hours in? Come on! Outage is estimated to last until tomorrow! In rural town so they are the only option next to satellite which is awful too.

Really hoping this isn’t going to be like this from now on. Ugh!

Bill pay

Absolutely hate this company, was switched over from another company and have been trying to pay my bill. Information isn’t recognized , it tells you to put in account information then tells you there is an account that already exists with that number ( no kidding it’s mine) I tried to use the chat, that brings you to a blank screen and then nothing…. I hate this company.

Off to a rough start

After a 5 day outage recently and the difficulty logging into account after transfer from century link I am hopeful things will get better soon

Customer service

Unable to reach them for over a week. Got to be the poorest run company. Website is always “unavailable” Wish there was an alternative but in the country we have limited services available.
Tried for 15 days last month to reach a “live” person, when I did they were helpful but most people have jobs and families and can’t stay on hold or have time to keep trying.

App

BrightspeedInternet works where the mobile safari browser will never pull up my account to where I can make a payment. Win win

Change has not been good!

I am not one to complain without reason, but ever since CenturyLink transitioned to BrightSpeed, our Internet Service has been unreliable and extremely frustrating! We live in an area where there are few alternatives to choose from for Wi-Fi and cell so we depend on greatly on our service providers.
If there are problems, the least BrightSpeed could/should do is notify customers!
As it is, not knowing leaves customer’s to think the worst!
And compounding the issue is that when the internet service is down, there is no way to get info or help online.

No one likes bad service and no one likes being obligated to pay for bad services!

I like the App

I am delighted with the Brightstsr app. It’s very helpful and keeps me updated . It’s efficient and useful , which is all you can ask .

Love how quick you can pay your bill wish everyone was this fast

Brightspeed is garbage

I’ve been trying to get wifi from these people for a month now. At first I waited for the initial service hook up, then found out they gave UPS the wrong address to deliver my router, then I found out they activated my wifi at another wrong address. Finally got my service ‘turned on’ and tried to activate my router and it didn’t work, so I contacted customer service and it’s a bunch of people that don’t understand the technology and don’t understand English. Eventually they just scheduled an appointment with a tech to come out, and I decided to check BrightspeedInternet myself again and low and behold they have different addresses listed still. So more than likely the tech will get here and say ‘Oh, they cut on the wrong address again.’

More than a few problems…

We have had issues with this company for a year, and feel limited due to the area we live in. The phone customer service people are great but we’ve had problems with technicians being in a hurry or coming on an unexpected day when not home. When they switched from Century Link is when we found out we were not receiving their emails which caused issues initially, and now that we’ve moved we are facing another issue getting our service working despite the fact we have the same modem, same account number and the landlord saying the people before us had used their services. It’s just tiring.

App works better than the website

The website never lets me make payments and constantly shows blank pages or just the head/footer of the site. BrightspeedInternet works perfectly though!

By

Poor website and support

I would like to pay my BrightSpeed bill online but do NOT want to pay a so called convenience fee. I used to be able to pay using my bank account, and the site says to avoid a convenience fee you CAN use your bank account as a payment method, but now there is no option for that.
For the past three billing cycles I have had to call customer support and have repeatedly asked how to pay online and avoid the sketchy convenience fee. I still haven’t received an answer. Each time I call they tell me they don’t know what the problem is, and then try to up-sell me… sell me a land line, or something I don’t need. Then they tell me to just pay with a credit card and they will drop the convenience fee. So…. It’s very inconvenient (and frustrating), but I’ll just call Brightspeed one a month, pay with a credit card, and have them drop the fee.

Not Recommending to Anyone

My internet has the tendency to go out each month, at least once a month. BrightspeedInternet is only worth a penny because each time there is an issue with it. I work from home, can you imagine how often my supervisor hears how my internet is acting up again? It’s embarrassing! I upped the mpg and noticed no change other than my bill. The customer service is crappy because BrightspeedInternet leads you to the internet which leads to more issues, when all I want to do is call a person. I digress, the reps always never have an answer! If you’re reading this thinking of getting BrightSpeed… DO NOT!!!

By

Order and Installation

Getting rural fast internet service is a painstaking process on actually picking the right company with the reliable fastest speed. Brightspeed has checked all of my boxes from ease of ordering over the phone, to getting email updates to easily create my account, to receiving the installation kit by UPS, to plug and go the modem/router. My headaches are resolved in less than a week.

By

nothing but trouble

I have been trying to find out what I am being charged for but I can't view my bill! Every time I try it says that it's not working and to try again. So I try later that day same thing this has been happening for days. I tried to chat but all I get is a link to read a article. I want to speak to a human not a robot! It gets me how companies ask you to confirm that you are a human but then they refuse to let you speak to a human! On the rear chance you can speak to a human they have such a strong accent that you can't understand a thing they are saying!

By

Don’t do it

This company bought my internet provider. Soon after the prices started increasing, the internet was already terrible. Believe me, the hoops you will have to jump through if you ever need to have any correspondence with them are not worth it. There is No modem return location. You will have to pay to ship it back to them. All in for the last month including shipping the modem was over $100 for 6mbps internet. The bill had raised to over $80 from the initial price of $39 from the previous company. The $150 deposit I gave the previous company disappeared.

So disappointed

We have gone without Internet for three weeks. Got it back somewhere in between there for two days they decided to trench up our driveway which is very long and now it’s going to wash next time it rains cut across my driveway through my beautiful decorative rock hit my waterline to cause a leak, covered it up and left after running a line they did not have authorization to run Customer service was absolutely terrible. If I could give you zero stars I would. And my Internet is supposed to be at least at a 3.0 and it is at a 1.23 and download is a 0.15.

Cant even log in

Got brightspeed internet a few months ago and the service itself is great, but BrightspeedInternet is un-useable. I can log into the website just fine, but when I try to log into BrightspeedInternet it just gives me a “Something unexpected happened”. I already did all of the basic troubleshooting, uninstalled, reinstalled, didn’t copy/paste, etc.

The only way I can manage my network is by navigating to the local ip in my browser but I would rather use BrightspeedInternet . If I could log into BrightspeedInternet I would be able to actually fairly rate it.

Brightspeed is literally trash

This Internet service is absolutely atrocious. I pay for 200 Mbps and I receive about 12 on average. When I call them, I never speak to an American. I always speak to somebody different country. There’s always tons of background noise. I was told I was paying for 15 Mbps, and since I’m receiving more than 10, I’m technically fine. I just don’t see why I should be paying 55 bucks a month for something that is almost completely unusable.

I have called them multiple times trying to get my account updated and they never seem to actually update the account. I’ve told them over and over again, that they have the wrong email because I’m not receiving any information and I cannot log into BrightspeedInternet . They tell me that they have updated it, however, that is just not the case. I used to think that spectrum is bad, but now I see I was silly. Spectrum is reliable and I always received around the megabytes per second that was paying for. I wish I could go back to spectrum.

It’s a 21st-century, I should be able to have decent Wi-Fi in my house. Decent Wi-Fi consist of Wi-Fi that is at least 100 Mbps.

Even getting it

I’ve been waiting a week for my WiFi I get it and set it all up correctly and it doesn’t work they tell me I’ll get a technician the next day. The next day comes and no technician not only that it’s “holiday” for the next two days. If the holiday is such a big deal to you guys then maybe you should finish a job then you wouldn’t have to it’s not our fault that you guys don’t know how to run a business correctly I’m just trying to get WiFi and you can’t even have a technician come on a scheduled day like it was scheduled they was supposed to come the next day and never showed now their saying ima have to wait even longer. This is ridicules if you want customers then don’t do them wrong like this
