Instructions and instructions

The sweet little pictures could have used at least a word or two on the instructions. Yoga requires some position and the pictures don’t offer any precision. I’m not at all sure that I’m doing these things right or if I’m going to end up having hurt myself tomorrow.

And ask for other instructions, I asked for seated workouts. I have a form of Parkinson’s, disease and standing is extremely difficult. It was my hope that at some point, I would be able to work into being able to balance enough to stand holding onto a chair. that’s not my situation right now and I see that day two includes some standing chair and some floor exercises. If I could get up and down off of the floor, I wouldn’t have to spend so much time in the hospital getting my head CT’ed. I want to like this. Using something verbal is easier for me than using a book at this point in time. I’ll keep looking.

Can’t even get started

I downloaded Workout hoping for to add some home based activities for the winter months. I answered all the setup questions until the question about “what chronic conditions do you have?” There were five options to check and I don’t have any of them so expected to be able to hit the next button but Workout doesn’t let you move forward without responding to at least one of the choices. Doesn’t make sense. Do the developers of Workout think that all old people have diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc???

Pretty crappy app

I really wanted to like and Workout but the extremely poor instructions for movements is a no go. Way too easy to do things incorrectly and end up injured. They have video instructions that don’t match what Workout is calling for and/or have mismatched names and cover multiple unrelated movements which requires trying to find a point in the video that might help explain correct movement. They essentially collected a bunch of videos from various sources and added a counter. There is no nuance among the reps for any exercise. At least they offer a free trial. The concept is good if implemented better. If they included specific text instructions for all exercises and let people choose whether or not to view the videos, might improve things. I understand that for $29 a year they can’t do custom videos.

Just what I needed

Bear in mind, I am 43. But, I have been having lots of health problems lately, so I felt like a 60-year-old or older. That is why I signed up for Workout.
My first impression, after three exercise sessions, is: this is a one size fit all type program. I’m not sure what the little questionnaire influences. However, that’s how the old 1980s exercise videos all were, and $30 would get you one or two videos. so, the price was right.—-excellent, really. Plus, This has some variety every day!
I see what others mean when they don’t know what the little figure is doing and how it doesn’t match all the videos, but I just needed something to get me moving in the morning… And this is easy enough to start out with! When I don’t know what to do, or feel, it is too easy, I make up my own thing to do.
A suggestion I have, is making the animation “outline only,” instead of with black pants because you can’t tell what her legs are doing.
Overall, I would highly recommend Workout for simply getting started, if you’re afraid of exercise!

Really helpful app, really weird app location

Weird location once you download the trial. It isn’t in Workout Store any longer and you cannot cancel it like other apps. This one directs you to links that aren’t generally working. It is not where your other apps are, it’s under “purchases”, even with the free trial. All the info is there, but ivtealllly had dig. I am aware that this is an app for seniors as I did download it, and the exercises are helping & motivating me after a very long illness. They are perfect and exactly what I needed to remind me to move. But, I think a more user friendly, intuitive app would be better.

Good chair work out app for 60+

I like Workout and has been using for past 20+ days but could use following improvements
- needs an Apple Watch integration. It is added the activities to my health app, but it doesn’t enable the integration like Apple Fitness+ app which tracks all activities and metrics
- the weight data isn’t bi-directional. It should read and write the weight as I am looking at the BT weight scale that records my weight automatically
- I would like to have an ability of create multi-activity plan for a day.

Better than expected

Workout is a lot better than I expected. I am a 75+ male who works out a lot. However I have knee and shoulder issues that after doing a series of these exercises once a day I have found less stiffness or soreness and increased flexibility. They may look like too easy of exercises but try them and you will see how good they are

Beginner

The exercises this first week have been great for those of us up in age who have not been exercising. I have looked at many exercise apps and knew they started off too quickly for my grossly out of shape body. Thank you for taking us where we are and presenting movements and time limits we are capable of doing.

Buggy app

I like Workout but I cannot get past day 13; Workout keeps freezing up at the 80% preparing the plan mark. Keep retrying and have deleted and reloaded app but it still keeps hanging up. Disappointed and frustrated. Sent a message but have no response to date. Other chair yoga apps have worked fine on my iPad. Totally Discouraged.

Better than you might think

Each session starts slow but by the end, I’m doing a movement or posture that is quite challenging for me. I like it. Session are 15 minutes or less. Easy to put in my morning. The only part I don’t like is when a movement is explained by dancing or bouncing. That does not help me understand the point of the movement.

Just Right

This is the first program I have been able to stick to because I was able to customize it to my own wishes. I chose a reasonable number of minutes that I knew I would be able to accomplish.
There is plenty of variety in the exercises and I feel that my entire body is being addressed.

Enjoy the app but I’m not that heavy

As a 75 yo who has eschewed exercise since HS sports Workout is great for me. It’s enjoyable and low impact so it’s easy to start and and easy to stay with it. I have 1 bug to report, which doesn’t affect my 5 star rating. Workout changes my weight from what I enter to something like 486 lbs between workouts. I’m overweight yes but not morbidly so. I’ll ignore the unintended body shaming until this gets fixed.

Pleasantly surprised

I thought this would be too easy, but it feels good . I just add a little walking to the routine. I upped the difficulty of my routines, and I feel my flexibility increasing!! I am so glad I found Workout. It is helping me to stay in great shape so I can play with my granddaughters. The workouts have just enough variety to make them fun to do!
I love the variety that each day of workouts brings!

The best

I am a procrastinator and rarely finish something I start. I find reasons to put things off, but today is day three of this low impact this app and I have not missed a day. I’m not finding a reason to avoid the exercises. I’m actually doing them. I attribute this to the fact that I’m not so exhausted after my this app, I use that as an excuse not to do it. It’s a great beginners course!

Just Right

So far so good. I am enjoying my first week of workouts. I’m 68, 179 lbs. l have health issues and for a very very long time I was not able to do much of anything, except the things I had to do, go work, try to take care of me and my mom. It was a very difficult time. I am much better, but not the me I use to be. This program so far seems to be made just for me. It’s not to much and not, not enough. I feel every this app, but it doesn’t put me down and I look forward to tomorrow’s this app. It feels good doing something everyday. I look forward to seeing how well I’m going to do on this journey.

Solid app

I needed to get back in the game After an injury at 56 years old. This is a very doable this app that seems too simple at first but is progressing nicely through all the motions a body needs. I am hoping this will be the gentle reentry to more physical workouts at the gym and with friends. Be aware that before trying it, you are asked to pay the annual fee of 59$. I did not like purchasing something Before seeing a sample. But so far so good

Whole Body Strengthening

Excellent this app for those of us interested in mindfulness and whole body strengthening. I use this when I get home from a day of teaching. It recenters my sense of peace while calming and releasing the tenseness that has built up during the day.

I appreciate that the exercises are demonstrated by body shapes that are like mine! In addition, having the chair for support reminds me during the exercises that my goal is on mindful strength building.

Although I’ve just begun my journey with Workout, I foresee continuing to use Workout on a daily basis.

My workout for life

I finally found a this app that I can do. It’s just enough mostly I can or see me doing in near future.I decided I can just have do it. I am retire and sit with my grandkids.I put on the bus and take them off also. I watch them on weekends to. But they are gone I sit a lot, my doctors keep telling me to get up and walk. I haven’t been listening to them. I am turning seventy in two months. I got to do it.I am going do three times a day excercise,walk, weights training. I would tell anybody this program is great I seen great results in me.

Keeps getting better

My husband and I have been doing the 28-day programs 5 days a week for about 6 months now. We like variety in the 12-14 minute daily workouts enough to keep going. The recent update — which we got just this week — addresses any reservations we had and now it is truly fabulous. We like the live example, the instructions, the 45-seconds per exercise and — most importantly — the exercises themselves. We prefer to do standing positions and value strength and mobility exercises over static stretches, and that’s just what the new app delivers. Thank you, developers!

Perfect workout

I was skeptical when I started this plan but it works! The exercises keep you moving without feeling like a this app. I’m toning up, losing weight and my range of motion has really increased in less than two weeks! I feel invigorated and look forward to my this app routine every day!
