You won’t be able to use spend or any of the rewards it’s all a big scam basically
Also let’s say the system is messed up which Is highly likely and your alternate id is not being accepted which is highly likely if you contact support and tell them your missing rewards and send them a pic of the receipt lol they will message you back saying nothing but this “some gas stations do not do rewards” it’s basically All they say in some copy and paste answer but even though you earned rewards there before and even if the gas station advertised it and even if it says on the receipt they do the rewards I guess nobody actually helps or works there it’s all bots pure scam beware pure scam

The way the login process was implemented on the Marathon App is extremely frustrating and not user friendly! To log in, you have to open the Marathon app, insert your phone number, then switch to the messages app to check the SMS, and click on a link, redirecting you back to the Marathon app, EVERY-SINGLE-TIME. Guys, it’s 2023, please allow the user to login with Face ID and that’s it! No more SMS, no more switching apps, no more terrible user experience. I hope the devs fix this!!!

MakeItCount app was so much better! Mostly because it actually works! I downloaded this new Marathon Rewards app, it asks for my cell phone number to proceed, sends me a text with a link, I click on the link and it takes me back to MarathonARCORewards where it asks for my cell phone number again. Won’t let me login. MarathonARCORewards doesn’t work so guess it’s time to find a different fuel rewards program.

Just like others have said. All MarathonARCORewards does is have you input your phone number that then send you a text messages to a webpage link. How ridiculous is that.

Tried to get in today 3/2/23, and all it does is keep sending me the text message with the link. Click on the link, and it opens MarathonARCORewards again. I’m in a infinite loop and no way to get help.

I tried using MarathonARCORewards when getting gas but I don’t see where you scan it or use it as a loyalty card or where you can upload a receipt. How would you get rewards? I asked inside the store and the attendant said the gas is Marathon but their store is not, and she handed me their store loyalty card. I drove away without getting gas there and went to a BP which happened to already be cheaper!

Maybe someone can tell me how to use the rewards I accrue cause when I sign in at the pump there’s not an option. The very first time I used, it asked me if I wanted to use my $.10 per gallon. Worked great! Now the people at the station can’t even tell me how to use them. There isn’t an option at the pump, that’s for sure. I will give it one more try, then I’ll get my diesel anywhere else that is cheaper or the same price.

I found on MarathonARCORewards that I have to tap on the discounts to use them. I will attempt another try. Maybe that’s why it didn’t pop up on the pump. I’ll let you know. If it works, it’s easy as 1,2,3…

MarathonARCORewards keeps sending me a text each time I enter my phone number but it never launches MarathonARCORewards , just asks for my number again. The web app launches, but I don’t see any more options to submit entries. Waste of time.

Very confusing. Said I had earned dollars off for my purchase then I couldn’t use it. Couldn’t use anything as couldn’t figure any way to get my info from app to pump. Couldn’t even manually put in phone number! Junk!

This has caused many headaches, no barcode to get rewards when paying inside, no way of adding points from receipt to MarathonARCORewards . Not to mention when paying outside there e reader always has something wrong with them. It’s usually a 50/50 on any given day to be able to put your rewards onto the menu and be able to pay. MarathonARCORewards needs a lot more, a barcode to scan inside just sounds so basic not to have.

I've tried to use it several times. Tried to redeem$.20 off per gallon but still got charged full price. Very frustrating!

After trying to put in my information 5 times, I’ve given up. Avoid MarathonARCORewards and Marathon in general, buggy to the point of fraudulent.

To enhance the user experience, I suggest implementing features that make it easier to find pumps and streamline the point redemption process, similar to how other gas stations operate. I believe that by investing in these improvements, you can make your app even more convenient and competitive. I look forward to seeing these enhancements and continuing to use Marathon. why did you change your rewards system? the previous rewards system was miles better than this new one. the previous one ensured you always got 5¢ off per gallon and you could save points to get more off, now you have to work to get a few dollars off. why would you completely rework your system into something so much worse? you also got rid of the 11 before the phone number thing, which made things confusing at the start for no reason. the rewards were a big reason why i go to marathon but at this point i can now get gas cheaper at other places.

Continuously receiving a message saying that “Something went wrong, please try again later.”

Has been doing this since last week. I will reach out to their actual Customer Support number today and see if this can be fixed.

Just to be clear MarathonARCORewards is definitely not functioning correctly. It is not user-friendly.

If I can’t pay thru app it’s useless, do not recommend. Very confusing user interface and a lot of spam/ads with-in MarathonARCORewards .

You cannot redeem your reward unless you go inside you have to tell cashier to turn your pump on pump gas go back in then tell cashier you are redeeming points then type your phone number in card scanner then scan your card it not worth the headache of 3 trips back and forth they ruined a great app with the change was great when you could redeem at the pump was a loyal customer

Asks for my loyalty ID number at the pump. Can’t find the loyalty ID number anywhere in MarathonARCORewards . This rewards program is garbage.

Firstly, it’s not a stand alone app. It redirects you to your mobile browser. While easy enough to navigate, I find it annoying to have to jump between the two. Also, the 5 cent discount doesn’t show up on my receipt but it appears that it may be a credit towards the next gas purchase. If that’s true, it’s misleading and confusing. Finally, the general tracking of your rewards is not as clear as it needs to be for users to know if anything is working or not. Speedway makes the process more clear for us simple folk. Simplicity sells.

I used a 10 coupon off of here and was never put back on my card

Now the redeeming reward is extremely confusing and pointless. You work hard to collect rewards and once you reach $20 you don't get $20 off instead you get $1 off per gallon. And even that needs to done before pumping. I used to be able to add my number after i pumped my gas and decide if i want to apply my rewards inside. Oh well nothing good lasts.

I can see my money savings and adding up, but I can never use it most I can use is 10 cents per gallon. it shows that I still have $10 savings ready to redeem no option to redeem at the store or the pump tried both prepaid as well as doing it at the pump itself is still no option to redeem your five dollars or $10 or $20 even though I have available funds. Marathon definitely isn’t the cheapest but I thought with MarathonARCORewards in the convenience, I could save money however that is not the case. I called and submitted a ticket no response back. I’m still unable to use MarathonARCORewards . The gas station attendance state that everyone is having this issue so it’s not just me very frustrating marathon.

Why bother having an app when all it does it open up a website on your phone? Isn’t that the whole
Point of an app is to avoid having to use a website? All MarathonARCORewards does is send me a link that opens up a elite for me to log into and just stays on the website. So MarathonARCORewards is pointless.

I don’t like that MarathonARCORewards doesn’t really work. You sign in, and it sends a text message to you to access everything on your web browser outside of MarathonARCORewards which defeats the purpose of downloading MarathonARCORewards . If I have to navigate on the web browser, it’s not necessary to have MarathonARCORewards in the first place.

Why did they change? This is so frustrating and is such a pain to log in. Everything worked fine before and it was soooo much easier to use. I am trying to use my rewards now and it is such a pain!!! Nobody understands it at the counter and cannot help you. Looks like I am about to switch where I get gas because there reward program is so much user friendly. Come on, the reviews are in, time to go back to the other one or get a MAJOR revamp on this one!!!! From a loyal Marathon customer.

I’ve had marathon rewards before they changed it. I ALWAYS put it my number and have rewards for discount on. I have never got my reward redeemed. App doesn’t work. I will be switching.

This is bad it doesn’t communicate 90% of the time and won’t allow you the discount unless you use a credit card what if all you have is cash on you well your screwed on getting a reward. I’ve tried the last two weeks to get into MarathonARCORewards and all it does is go blank and not respond especially since gas hit 4.00 a gallon yeah this isn’t a good app it’s a rip off and a joke

Was excited to sign up to get rewards from my local station. Didn’t work the first time. Second time it didn’t work. Message said “Invalid Account Number”. Asked attendant who acknowledged it doesn’t work and didn’t know why. Your email promotions come in regularly, too bad they can’t be used. Very frustrating!

I haven’t been able to figure out how to get this to work. I enter my phone number at the pump and nothing happens. No discount. The workers inside had no idea either.

Update: I figured out why it doesn’t work. It’s because there are almost no marathon stations participating in the program.

I contacted Marathon rewards support, and that’s how I found out that most stations aren’t participating in this program. They also said there’s nothing they can do to get the ones near me to participate. Strangely, the station I go to advertises marathon rewards even they don’t accept it.

Every time I select the discount through MarathonARCORewards it never discounts it at the pump. Just this morning I made sure the $2 discount was selected and at the pump I followed the instructions to hit cancel and enter 11 + phone number and the gas never discounts. It doesn’t even give option to use cents off at pump. Just goes to payment method after putting in information. Sunoco works because it gets linked to your payment card so when you swipe you get asked for cents off.

I drive for work and had zero warning I would lose all my points built up over the years. I would go out of my way to find Marathon stations to spend the rewards at Target but this multi billion dollar profits company can do without my business after this bait and switch.
What an awful change from the best gas rewards program app to a glorified web wrapper data mining app.
Save your automated replies PR guys I’m not calling whatever poor person has to man your complaint line after this screw up.

I have used the rewards card for a long time, the old system worked flawlessly. I used the new rewards program today, nothing saved at the pump, I received a text message informing me I just saved 10 cents a gallon, yet nothing taken off at the pump, completely argue with the other reviews, completely useless, if I cannot get it to work by the next fill up,will delete the account and use the other rewards offer from the other stations around me…

MarathonARCORewards isn’t ready for MarathonARCORewards Store. It isn’t a standalone app; it only asks for your phone number, where you receive a web link via text.

But even the the browser-based experience is sorely lacking. It shared that you have earned money on your fill-up but it doesn’t offer any way to redeem the money.

They shouldn’t be advertising this until it’s ready. Don’t waste your time with the program until improvements are made.

The worst. You no longer get the rewards applied to your purchase at the pump; they ‘save’ them for you to TRY to use later. It doesn’t work.
I activated a $5.00 off, 10-15 minutes before I pumped gas… it didn’t deduct a CENT. Called support… they said I have to activate EARLIER. Really…
How does this work for people on the road. I guess we are clairvoyant and can tell where the next Marathon is , O! And you have to check to see if it is now a PARTICIPATING station, AND that we will fill up 15+ minutes AFTER we activate the ‘reward’.
I have also LOST ‘rewards’ because I activated it and didn’t use it right there , right then.
What a crock.
Make it count worked well. Go back to that!

This new app is so much worse than the MakeItCount rewards app. There is barely an app it just sends you a text and you have to log in on the web browser. There are also very few Marathons that actually use this new method. The last app was very easy and simple compared to this new one.

I will not be using Marathon gas stations anymore. I can get the same if not more money off my gas at other gas stations and they have actual functioning apps that are SIMPLE and EASY to use.

I don’t want a text message to login to an app. Why is it logging me out constantly? The new rewards program is crap, and if you unsubscribe from the ENDLESS text messages, you can’t log back in to your account. All of the great things about the old program went down the drain. I guess I will be going to Speedway for my gas now. At least I can actually get rewarded for fueling up and buying things from the store.

Had to download new app because old Make It Count app no longer worked. Instantly got a message that I just earned $2 off. Went to Marathon station, but could not get the discount because even though pumps say Marathon, store does not accept the new rewards app. There are 3 Marathon branded stations within 15 minutes of my house and according to the map of stations in MarathonARCORewards , none of them exist.

I live out in the country and I have one Marathon gas station near me that isn’t 20 minutes away. I am unable to use the reward at the pump. Based off the map that I see on MarathonARCORewards , there are only certain locations that will be able to accept the rewards. Not sure why this is, but I am not willing to drive over an hour just to use the rewards. Marathon, do better.

You do everything you need to do to get a reward and they don’t give it to you. The big corporations was losing too much money on the original perk system. So they had to go to a new one where they claim that they give you a reward but don’t. You don’t even get to use it. Then when you email them they want to blame it on the station that you went to.

This doesn’t sync with the old Cents Off rewards. It doesn’t give you credit for getting gas. It gives you 5¢ off and that’s it. It’s absolutely worthless now that they changed it. Why get rid of the old when it worked? I used to drive out of my way for Marathon gas because of the rewards, now I wouldn’t use Marathon if it was in my backyard.

I was able to make an account and sign in but only by going to my laptop. They demand a phone number. Then they send you a text link. Which opens up a web browser. It never lets you in MarathonARCORewards . Ever. MarathonARCORewards always defaults to give me your phone number. I'll send you a text. It will open the website. You can never sign in through MarathonARCORewards . And if you're on a phone you can't sign up through MarathonARCORewards . It won't let you finalize.

I like the original version better since 99.9% of the time I paid cash and used the barcode, I have not used this new app since it came out as it has no barcode and have to use a card, I’ll use it once you add a barcode for cash payment.

This was working pretty good but now I’ve have to fill ups I’ve done and have not gotten any rewards! I’d get a text not much after hanging the pump up about my rewards but now I’m getting nothing! The last notification I got was several hours later about my rewards! Not sure what’s going on

Do use MarathonARCORewards or the gas station. you can get rewards for signing up but it will not let you accrue anymore points. I have put in my number each time I fill up. It has not shown any fill ups. I have doubled checked rewards number several times. This is a scam.

Are used to get five cents a gallon with the rewards. When they started the new system we have here, nothing works. They don’t even tell you on the new app what number to put in if it’s different to make it work. And the people that run the station have no idea.

I religiously type in my member number to get all the coins…however even after redeeming it never gives me my money off. I even thought maybe cause it’s pending in my bank. NOPE. Still nothing. The old rewards system worked but this is crap and I’m annoyed. I’ve tested it multiple times so not just a one time thing.

This looks good and sounds good but simply doesn’t work as stated. Total frustration. I’ve talked to the store associates and they are clueless. Reached out to customer support and got a response which didn’t help. MarathonARCORewards makes me want to purchase fuel at the competition out of pure frustration. Come on Marathon, do better!!!

Unlike Shell, Chevron & numerous other apps, the Marathon rarely works. 99% of the stations you're going to pull into won't recognize your phone number and say "invalid account" nor will the station itself even appear on the Marathon app's map despite said station having signs to "download MarathonARCORewards and save" on every single pump. No use downloading MarathonARCORewards until Marathon fixes it.

Had been a longtime user of the old rewards program but this new one stinks. Had to get the manager to redeem a reward because I had store items and gas to buy. Rewards can only be redeemed at the pump so it took two transactions to finally get out of the store. Rewards are better at Speedway and prices for items are too. Plus, rewards are immediate not cumulative. Luckily, Speedway is right down the street and on my way home. Went out of the way on the old program.

I used to love filling up at this gas station. You entered your number and you get 5 cents off. Since MarathonARCORewards was created, it is crap. It tells me that I have 10 cents off, and I earned $1.25 etc. when I get to the gas station and enter my number nothing happens. I just deleted MarathonARCORewards and I’m going to go somewhere else.

The old rewards program was better. Instant reward of cents off. This program doesn’t always work when you go to pump and says number not found. Hence no rewards so I now shop wherever

MarathonARCORewards stinks. The old app you got 5 cents off on fuel this one you don’t. You would think they would keep up with everyone else where some are giving you 10 cents off.

So the in app point system uses “$”. Right now, after spending about $300 on about 63 gallons of fuel, i only earned “$5.50” and “$2” extra from sign up bonuses. And even though “$7” sounds like a good deal, i can redeem “$5” to get only a mere ¢25 off per gallon. If i had “$10”, i could redeem it for ¢50 off per gallon. It costs “$20” to redeem the $1 off discount. Which as of right now, without any promotions or bonuses, would cost me about $1,200 to achieve that discount. Insane!

When i saw a sign at an Arco gas station saying that if i sign up for the rewards program, i could earn up to “$7” in rewards just for signing up, i didn’t realize that “$7” in rewards was worthless and that the point system uses “$” to trick you into thinking you’re going to get an amazing deal. Really though, using a “$” as the point system just makes it seem sketchy and absolutely misleading. Just use regular points instead of “$” points.

All that being said, MarathonARCORewards isn’t very good on the rewarding part and if you can i would suggest trying to go other gas stations instead and trying out their rewards system. If you don’t have the option, then at least this is better than nothing.

I was offered 10 cents/gallon off on gas. I clicked on the needed steps and it said to go to the pump within the deadline and fill up, but once again I get to the pump and no such reward is given. This isn’t the first time this has happened.
Also there was a sign on top of the pump recently that said you no longer needed to put in the 11 before your phone number, but when I leave that out it doesn’t even give me the 5 cent discount. Very frustrating and disappointing!!

I don’t have any trouble with MarathonARCORewards , but I do have problem with the promotion. I can never get the rewards they promise. In May, there was a promotion that once you bought 30 gallons, you would get a discount of $.20 per gallon on your next fill up. I completed the promotion and went to fill up my tank today. I did not get $.20 per gallon. I only got $.10 per gallon. Stations that participate in this program are already more expensive than the other stations so after my discount I got about $.04 a gallon savings. It’s not worth it to try to find a station that participates. I don’t plan on wasting my time anymore.
I forgot to mention, because participating stations are $.05 to $.10 higher than non-participating stations, by the time you filled up a couple of times to get the rewards at a participating station, you’ve already spent more there than you would have at the non-participating station. ARCO got back to me about my first review and said, “they would look into it.”

I have tried to use MarathonARCORewards several times and each time I go to get a Rewards from it it’s not working the machines not working or MarathonARCORewards is down and this is very inconvenient and I do like the gas station that I use. It’s just I don’t have luck with the Rewards.

Can’t login have tried for 1 week did receive an email telling me what to do. Still doesn’t work.

This most definitely needs improvement. Each time you have to input a phone number to receive a link to access a web page. This is not an actual app which needs to be. I like the old program/ app better.

Disclaimer check the locator. If the gas station you use isn’t included on the locator then MarathonARCORewards is pointless. The station may even advertise the rewards program but doesn’t participate.

The only value at that point is to the business which has your information.

Suggestion: create a fake account, check the locator. If you find your gas station go back and create a legitimate login. If not delete and move on.

Your previous rewards program was far superior to this one. It was easy it was efficient, and it had to create loyalty.
The new program is cumbersome, not customer, friendly, and difficult to utilize in the moment. I’m sure the new program is much more financially favorable to Arco, but that’s not the reason for loyalty programs

I like that my neighborhood gas station is a marathon and owned by somebody. For me that’s an important fact. What I do find frustrating about this rewards program is most of the monthly ones that you pick are are not something I’m gonna ever be able to get I get that bigger pay off also it’s I just don’t use it enough I, get my rewards and sometimes I use it and sometimes I don’t. I’d like to see something separate for senior citizens. We don’t put tons of miles on our car even when we live out in a somewhat area I guess I feel the thing needs a little tweaking.

I like the rewards however 80% of the time MarathonARCORewards doesn’t work and there should be a way to enter rewards # if you forgot to put in at the pump or register

I really enjoy MarathonARCORewards buying gas every where except my local store. I never get credit for purchases it’s like I never put my number in. I have also submitted the receipt by email like I was told to do by customer service. Still no points.

Need to make sure it’s easy for store employees to redeem the credits. There is a lot of confusion between employees, all have been nice but very few actually know how to help you redeem the reward!

Getting better once you started to understand how it works but there is no instructions at the credit card terminal or at the store counter & they/the employees also don’t know how.

So B4 you pay by credit cards You need to touch the loyalty id/tel. # on the credit card terminal screen. After u done inserting your phone number then click i’m done then pay.

It would be nice to pay in app for my gas at the station.

There are a few of these gas station near where I live and work. They usually have the best gas prices and MarathonARCORewards offers the best consistent savings I have found. Very good experience.

I always enjoy the price of the cigarettes i purchase,even though I don’t smoke… rather I’m buying them for a friend or my husband, I go there because they’re cheaper when you purchase multiples! I also get a free coke sometimes, now that’s what I enjoy, get on the rewards program and you’ll learn how to receive these discounts & free items from time to time!

I purchased a full tank of gas and received money back, how great is that? Super. I did ask for a receipt, but the pump would give one, so like other things, I just let it go.

I appreciate the opportunity to purchase quality gasoline at a lower price. I’ve not had any difficulty with Marathon and plan to continue using it for all of my vehicles are a daily basis. Thank you.

Long time Maverik fueler was convinced by Cashier Tisha at Marathon to transfer. Her excellent customer service and eagerly helpful personality to assist an electronically challenged customer makes her a Gold star. We will see what the future brings but I will go back to Marathon in Havasu at the corner of McCulloch to just to say hello to Tisha again. The .10 off for fuel helped also.

I drive less now that I have been retired some time. I do appreciate saving my hard earned money so rewards are good. Thank you

I went to H’a convenience store, and gas station (Statesboro Ga), very professional establishment, love the M.Rewards app so easy to use. Don’t need a card. Just the phone number is so convenient and the savings are great. I plan to apply for a fleet card for my business next thank you so much for a wonderful lap that helps so many customers save on gas during An economy with constant fuel price fluctuations, I now look for marathon fuel every time Im ready to full up, thank you so much.

I like the gas station, I’ve been with Marathon for years but recently J&H bought Marathon and it’s safe to say that most of there prices have went up, and I’m not really a fan of the new rewards program, I liked the old rewards program better. Although of the change’s that I’m not a fan of I still have stayed by marathons side and still reward here.

This is the best gas station I’ve been to since I worked at the Enco on Parkside in 1974 Glen Ellyn. It was owned by Ed and Kathy Melka. Me and my girlfriend Patty Lang were called the Parkside Petites. We loved working there, learning about cars, doing oil changes, tire changes and of course serving our customers with a smile and good service!

Marathons rewards helped me tremendously without them. I don’t know how I would make it and I drive 7 miles out of my way just to come to the marathon I am a loyal customer.

Every gas station in a 10mile radius in my location does not accept the loyalty discounts. I input my phone number inside when I pay for fuel and it says invalid. Uninstall this useless app.

The new app is slick. Once you take a moment to understand how Rewards works, it’s great! I have $15 in my account…holding out for $20 off gas now.

Reward is at the final transaction for example if you got 2.00 coming off and you put 20 in your tank you will notice on your card you use it will show only actually 18 coming off for the gas !

App works very nicely, and has many amenities which serve multiple purposes. I like the feature which tells the price per type of fuel specific to the station.

So happy they finally have an app! Makes it super easy to use!

We all are looking for discounts. This one works for me. I only use Marathon gas. Where I usually go only one pump has the rewards set up. I would like more available.

I love the Marathon Rewards program. It’s simple. You earn rewards when you fill up and for other things in MarathonARCORewards . As the rewards accumulate, you simply use MarathonARCORewards to select how much of your rewards you want to apply towards you next fill up. The rewards program is tied to your phone number so you just enter that number before each fill up when the screen shows Loyality Number. Easy peasy.

Not sure how it works sometime I get a bonus 10cents off at the pump. Maybe I need to pay a little closer attention to the messages! 😃

Super simple layout makes it very user friendly. Each month you get to choose a challenge to earn more rewards points on top of your points you earn with every fill-up. I feel that you get a very fair amount of rewards points, which are redeemed for up to $1 of each gallon.

I'm in here with everyone else. I've reviewed my rewards account over and over to find out why I am not receiving rewards. I never receive any rewards. Not going to useMarathon gas atations any more.
