Too simple. Nothing to let the child know the level was completed.

There was no excitement or "reward" for completing a level. The child must know to touch the left arrow to return to the home screen, not another level.
The other games he plays has balloons that he can pop or stars that come down or a character that goes across the screen to signal the completion of the level. Then he can go to the next level in the series. This game only has a faint design that is in the middle of the screen.
That's $1.99 plus tax chalked up to supporting a small business.
