Why a one star review for a perfect product?

2025-03-08

by Zombificationafy

Because it keeps repeatedly spamming me to review it and it is my prerogative not to as I already pay you monthly for the product. It should leave me alone and let me do my work. So since you DEMAND that I review your product that I already subscribe to before I can continue to use it, I will. I purchased this product PERMANENTLY at a set price when it first came out which the company later illegally RENEGED on to charge me a monthly fee in order to use. It is now several hundred dollars to use it permanently, even though I already paid to use it permanently when the price was much cheaper. This, doubled with the fact that your product will not leave me alone until I write a review is why what should be a five star product gets ONE star. How do you like your review guys? Was that algorithm you used to force your users to review worth it? I’ll change it to five if you 1) Stop the product from bothering me to review it and 2) give me access to the permanent working product which I already paid for yet am still charged a monthly fee to have access to. If there is a reply from the company below this before my review has changed to five stars please know that the person answering this post absolutely knows the company is shady and still is just trying to give you lip service with absolutely no intention of fixing the issues, making them a liar, so don’t believe a word they say.

Why are so many developers doing this?

2025-03-09

by WEKIV

They are undermining their success, ruining their reputation by alienating & angering a once loyal & dedicated customer user base. All to make a quick buck. Myself, like many other user-patrons, have long ago paid for premium services or to have ads removed. And then suddenly out rolls the latest update with its Subscription based services and all of those previous payments are negated. Now we have to pay again, and usually considerably more money for many of the features that we already paid for. Is this not fraud? Bait and Switch? False advertising? It wouldn't surprise me to see this eventually unfold into a class action lawsuit. Apple could be complicit as well for allowing it. I could be mistaken as I am not a lawyer, but even if what they are doing is legal, it still seems unethical and bad business.

Come on Developers! Do the right thing! You had a fantastic app here with a base of users who would gladly pay for your next great app. Lose the subscription, give us back the original Glitch and roll out Glitch2. Make it bigger and better. You will have a lot of happy customers instead of ex-customers. I for one will applaud your efforts and gladly pay for another app; even for a Subscription.

Takes away previously free features

2025-03-10

by Mka134

I have used this app since 2016. The app used to have plenty of fun free features, but the paid ones seemed very cool as well. I have used this app consistently until about 2021. After that, I took a hiatus and came back today to find that some of the free features I had used for years are now behind a paywall. In addition, there is an insanely overt watermark, when this was not previously there as of 2021! This is very disappointing as a user of 8 years. If you continue to innovate, keep the free features and then add more to the paid tier! Id even be happy to watch ads to get the free filters I’ve used for 8 years and have less obvious watermarks. Just feels very cheap and disappointing, especially because a vast majority of your user base will not be willing to pay $5 a week or $35 a year for features that were previously free to them. This is coming from someone who has loved this app since 2016, I love what this app does and I genuinely want it to be better. Or at least what it used to be a mere 3 years ago. Put ads in for the free folks! I don’t care.
