I downloaded this to give it a try. The SSEC website is bookmarked on my Mac as I think it gives the best composite satellite images available. On my iPhone 7 WxSat takes a long time to download the still images to play a time sequence and after the images are loaded and just starting to stream together...it crashes. Same result on visible, water vapor, etc. Nice try. I can always use the browser on the phone and look the web versions. Thanks guys.

This software seems to work but it’s screen draw mechanism leaves a lot to be desired. If one zooms in to a region the software downloads ALL the images and then shows the region of interest (ROI). This makes the map drawing slow and as a result completely unusable. It would be better to figure out the ROI and then only download and draw the overlay images in that ROI.

WxSat continues to crash multiple times when launch WxSat . Otherwise, very informative and much easier to use.

SSEC knows satellite data. WxSat gives you geostationary vis/IR/WV on black and white color scales. Lots of customization for animation, which is really nice.

I can't wait to see the future of WxSat - I expect it will fully evolve to become the RadarScope of satellite data.

I tried to find support for WxSat but there doesn't seem to be any. I've been using WxSat for a while. I love looking at the water vapor images, to get a better idea of what the weather is doing--such as revealing low pressures that aren't otherwise visible. But lately it has been buggy. It often is missing the latest image (the map has no overlay), although I can still get the time lapse to work. Today there are no images past 6:00 am. This has been a good app to use and I hope these problems don't become permanent.

WxSat shows the three GOES weather channels (visible, infrared, water vapor) centered on your location, but you can scroll to see the entire planet. Additionally, you can download one of three (6, 12, 24 hour) animation sequences to watch our fantastic weather in motion. I love it.

Very good! Just like website basically. Loads a little slow on iPad and iPhone.

How often are the updates? Also please add screen capture option. Thanks for a great app can't wait to watch waves roll off Africa during the hurricane season.

WxSat is a must have in your arsenal of weather apps. Would like to see a little closer zoom level and the ability to pause the animation on different frames. Well Done!

Best satellite images on any app I've seen. Really hope features will be added that include:
-greater zoom ability
-ability to either toggle or point and reveal lat / long
-increase image frequency to quarter-hourly from hourly
-add drawing capability for people to track changes over time

Not being critical here...great start to become best WX satellite app by far, so far. Keep enhancements coming at a good pace to keep people interested! Great job!

WxSat worked very well in previous versions however there are many times where even on WiFi the map layers will not load and the imagery will be blank. There hasn't been an update in some time so my hopes are falling for this once wonderful app.

Can't remember if I paid for this or not. Six frames at various hour resolutions is virtually worthless. Slow to load frames. Reports of little if any support. Pass on it if it's anything but free.

Love the 2.x update… the UI finally reflects modern iOS design and the animation and speed are much improved!

I just get a pulsing blue dot for my location but can't get any images. Can't get satellite, can't get water vapor can't get infrared. Restart does nothing. I liked it when it worked.

I appreciate this being free, but it's useless. No update in almost two years means it crashes in my iPhone 6. Needs better map resolution and scaling too.

Buggy, slow to load, always an hour behind. Does anyone know how to program a decent visible satellite app these days? I'd pay pay for it!

Note to developer: At the very bottom center of WxSat where it displays icons showing the Year, Month, Day, and Hour. It’s has the year as 2021.
