I’ve been using the premium version of this app for a little less than a month and I have to say I hate it. Entering in my daily meals is cumbersome and the database itself is often inaccurate. The camera feature (which is one of the main reasons I chose this app) rarely works and is worthless. For instance, when I took a picture of mashed potatoes the app suggested they were a plate of cauliflower. Arugula salad was green beans. Whole meal pictures are worse. There are also things that are irritating with the app. Like constantly seeing an ad for Argus’ scale even though I have a premium account. The camera screen blocking out the menu buttons when first starting the app, and even the included recipes are junk.
Lastly, be very careful when purchasing a subscription with this company. I chose the 1 year subscription and immediately hated the app. Apple would not refund my money even though Argus’ terms state I had 14 days to change my mind. Once you subscribe you’re stuck.
There are much better apps with more accurate and user friendly databases. I suggest you avoid Argus with a ten foot pole.

Maybe if I was looking to lose weight it would have been a good app, but I struggle with a horribly high metabolism and a lack of appetite due to mental illness and I’m generally a small guy so sometimes it’s just tough to eat full meals. I’m currently 30lbs underweight and dropping, I’m essentially just starving simply by existing at this point and this app was useless!
All it wanted me to do was lose weight or build muscle even after calibrating everything and taking the stupid quiz! I need to gain weight, fat, I’m not healthy and I’m not the only one (I know so many people who struggle with similar things or have struggled with anorexia in the past and have trouble eating well today as well.) It’s not healthy to only cater to the two options of “losing weight” or “building” muscle, this is supposed to be a meal tracker app and something to help people be healthy, it needs to be able to be used by everyone who needs it not Just the idealistic stereotypes

I wouldn’t advise getting this app to anyone as there a myriad of others that offer the same tools and much easier to maneuver. If you’re simply using to track steps, your phone does this for you already (iPhone users). If you’re using it to track meals, calories, etcetera then it’s okay except for the fact that there A LOT of foods not in their “bank” so you have to add yourself. Again, most other apps don’t have this issue. I purchased the “premium” and discovered that doesn’t even offer what’s advertised. Couple that with good luck trying to get a hold of anyone with questions or confirmation as all roads lead nowhere. The app itself doesn’t provide a customer service link so I looked on the App Store. This provided the developers site and I did find a “contact us” link. When I completed typing my email and went to send I repeatedly got a “failure” notification. From there I used FB Messenger of which I’m still waiting for a reply. Reasons for contacting is I don’t want my subscription to auto renew (research this before purchasing as it’s misleading). If need be I’ll change my ITunes payment options but seems like too much effort for such a simple request. In summary, it may be tedious, but research an app before using and again, no I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
