I love the idea of Genies and I think it’s really cool! But I don’t understand the need for getting “approved”. For one, it makes it harder for every day people to get/use Genies . For two, it requires giving personal information such as your phone number to even get into Genies and create an avatar, which some people (including myself) are not very interested in giving out to just anyone. It asks for your phone number before you can even see that lay out of the avatar maker, which means I can’t even see if it’s worth giving my contact information. Overall I LOVE the idea of Genies and I think it’s really cool how you guys are creating these whole new “emoji” type things but you may want to consider changing and adding things to make it easier to use your app. I think if you made Genies easy access to everyone it would really sky rocket! Genies is really buggy. I noticed several bugs in the Character creation process such as trying on a hat flattened the hair even after taking the hat back off, and rolling over the dress section of the shirt wheel takes your pants off and then you have to go back to the pants screen and find your pants again. Finally got done making my character and they asked me to enter a phone number to validate. Typed in my phone number and nothing happened. The last two digits were clipped off the screen so I thought I typed it in wrong but even after verifying my phone number was entered correctly, I was unable to continue. There was no buttons or any way to go forward or even to go back. I closed Genies and deleted it. Please fix your bugs.

It's been a month since I created my character. I tried contract ng them but I can't find any contact info or email address for technical support. If there is duch a thing as zero star, that's what they deserve. I agree, customers shouldn't wait for an approval unless it's an adult app. Ridiculous! They don't even answer to comments. I'll give them another month, if nothing hapoens, I'll delete Genies and blog about it. Worst customer service there is since there's no one you contact. I’m an educator who was looking for something that I could use for teaching and I was hoping this would be fun and useful for a flipped classroom. I guess not. Very disappointing...

Genies is fun if you let people use it. At first I thought it was ok since you did need to wait for approval to use Genies which I think is ridiculous. Now they are doing this new virtual thing and you have to request a number to be able to use it. I mean seriously this is just an app, who do you think you are Hermès . Even if you get the number you want , what if your friend doesn’t the whole point is to have your friends and people you know in it too so you can do things in Genies with them. You need to stop doing all these approval stuff and make it available to everyone! No one is going to use your app anymore!

Genies seems great and an awesome idea. Kudos to you all for creating this idea. Although I have made an avatar twice now(which I had fun doing the first time) and entered in my number twice nothings happing after that. It’s like bouncing me out Genies . Im not sure why but as soon as you all fix whatever issues there are I can’t wait to use it. Even when I remove it and re download it onto my phone it blinks white then take me back to my home screen. I’m not sure why but I would like to use it. I’ve updated my phone and removed apps to make space and see if that would help. I’ve turned my phone off and on nothing.

looks great - however, app crashed twice when making the genie. Also, terrible idea that your “friend” has to accept and download Genies and create a genie in order for you to use yours? - that’s basically me putting my name and recommendation behind Genies before getting to try it out and give it a stamp of approval. So far very bad experience. Not to say that can’t change if I finally end up being able to fully test it out and get to play with it after a friend decides to download it and then recommend their friend. So far, I would not recommend this to anyone based on my experience

I love my avatar. She’s a cuter little version of me. She’s not available as a sticker on iMessage or any other app. So i can only use her on the this app app. Also, I lost her when i downloaded Genies on my ipad. I created her on my iPhone and when i logged into my this app account on my ipad she transformed into a white naked man! I’d lost all my customizations AND gender! The loss wasn’t only on my ipad but all the customizations were lost on my iPhone as well! Genies has so much potential. At the very least I hope to soon see the fix to the multiple devices swiping clear customizations all across.

It will not let you sign up unless you give it access to every single one of your contacts.
They say “we do not disclose your personal information to anyone” but I’m literally getting texts from this company saying which of my friends are getting it. It’s looking through their contacts, finding my number, and texting me “hey, x and 7 other people have cloned themselves using Genies. Get it now”
What kind of bs is this?! You don’t need access to your users’ contacts so stop forcing them to give it to you.

Genie creates amazing, fun animations of your personal avatar (“Genie”) in wacky situations - perfect for Instagram, Snapchat, and group texts. Two downsides: 1. You can’t do anything with your avatar until it’s approved by them. Took like 3 weeks in my case. 2. Therefore, it’s hard to get your posse on this trend quickly. Clearly, Genies is way more fun if you know people, because you can add their this app to your animations. Genies provides a few celebs to use until you build your friend group, but it seems like the apps “exclusivity” is working against it going viral among us common folk. Still, super fun animations!

Such a cute app! Just need a little more variation to facial features. The eye shapes are VERY limited. Not everyone has big round eyes. Some are slanted, almond shaped, Asian shaped or whatever you want to call it Lol. There should be an option for Men to have 1 earring, not two. Also, the lip choices don't reflect African Americans with fuller, shapely lips on top and bottom (not just a big bubble bottom lip like they where punched) This is just an observation. Hopefully in future updates, these options will be added.

Love Genie been following them in Instagram for a good while. I’m just upset that the keyboard thing is annoying. I hate it because we have to choose an emoji then copy then paste then click to GIF or something like that. I just want to be in facebook messenger use my old keyboard and just be able to click on this app logo and click on the this app action and that’s it. It would have been 5 stars if it didn’t have the keyboard...we don’t need it 😁✌️ please get rid of it thanks!

Genies is a great app overall. There are so many customizations from hair to clothes. It’s so simple to send them to your friends. I could go on and on about the positives, but the one thing I didn’t like was the fact that you couldn’t change your genie from male to female or female to male. I tried deleting Genies over and over and still nothing. Don’t get me wrong though, this is an overall very good app and I really like it

this app is genius!! What a fun way to connect with friends, share news stories, and learn about what’s going on in the world. Stories are personalized to your interests so you’re guaranteed reading stuff that you care about. Although there isn’t a gender neutral option yet, characters can be personalized to a very impressive level, from 20+ face shapes to all sorts of clothing. Animations are funny, entertaining, and help people relate to each other more. The one thing I have an issue with is their approval process, which seems to be based on how much social media influence you have; if they made it more readily available to include everyone, I’m sure they’d find even greater success! Great team, great concept, great execution. I can’t wait to see how Genies develops!

this app is so awesome!!! I loved choosing all the different hair styles and clothes!! I’ve gotten so many of my friends to make one and it’s so much fun doing all the different animations and emotions while chatting. There’s so many to choose from!!! Definitely better than bitmoji, there’s so much more you can do!! It’s definitely going to blow up and everyone’s going to be communicating using their genie, I would definitely download!

I love Genies! this app is so well thought out and so customizable! There are so many choices for your Genie- from various face shapes and having every hair style/color imaginable to having brands like Gucci and Nike, it really has it all. All of my friends use it and all love it, and I really see it blowing up all over social media! Genies is incredible and I can’t wait to see it continue to grow!
