Chaos Control™: GTD Task List Reviews

Yet another company that things they have to change things that already work pefectly. They had a clean, well-organized interface that put all the necessary controls on the main screen. I’m looking at the old and new versions side-by-side on my two iPad minis: with the old version I see my 8 to-dos for today in the upper 2/3rds of the screen in nice bold print, along with 6 items from tomorrow’s list on the bottom third. With the new version there’s a lot of wasted white space, leaving room enough for only one of tomorrow’s items at the bottom -this is with the display options set for minimalist information. Old version: simple, highly readable and efficient. New version: a huge amount of wasted screen space and smaller print, making it both less readable and less efficient. If you write long sentences for your to-dos you might appreciate that the menu bars are no longer present on the left and right sides of the screen, but for those of us who express ourselves succinctly, the convenience is compromised by this change. The wasted vertical space is the major complaint I have about this upgrade.

Chaos Control has become my central organizing app. I read Getting Things Done several times and had some difficulty implementing it.

Using ChaosControl, the methods finally clicked. I use the “chaos box” for general in then sort by context and projects. ChaosControl has even helped me with paper applications of the GTD method.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of an issue with cut, copy and pasting within ChaosControl . However, I reached out to Dmitriy and he is looking into it for me. He provided excellent customer service and ChaosControl does everything I need it to. It works very well! As soon as my little issue gets fixed, I’d like to come back and raise my review to 5 stars. I also plan on referring ChaosControl to friends and family. If you’re in the fence, get it. It’s worth it!

I like ChaosControl to organize my various projects all in one place. So, I paid $10 for the phone app, with the understanding that it could sync to my computer. Wonderful. Then I open the link to sync with my computer only to find they want to charge me another $20 to download a computer app required to sync. No thank you. $30 for an organization app is too much. I don’t like feeling like I have been tricked into a purchase. Better to be up front about the cost so customers can make an informed purchase. Deceptive.

ChaosControl really shines in its simplicity and ease of use. That’s not to say, however, that it’s basic. It allows you to control tasks and to-dos in a very-easy-to-learn and systematic way. I’m planning a major move, several important projects and work, and a trip abroad in addition to my daily duties, and so far ChaosControl has really helped me keep my life together and productive.

I have used this system for a few years now and it has made my life much simpler. Further, they have continually improved the product over the years and worked out the bugs. I use this across multiple platforms to stay on top of life.

I’ve been a master of organization since the 80s using the Franklin planner system. Through GTD. Through a dozen apps and my own cobbled-together systems. Chaos Control dominates them all and has doubled my productivity. So glad to have found you. Skip the others and jump right in here.

The subfolders is what makes ChaosControl better then a lot of apps!!!!!! Just wish they let you do different colors for different folders !!!

ChaosControl is great for organizing personal daily tasks. It really will help your productivity. I Wish they had a web-app version of this as well though, and not just desktop versions. Otherwise would I would give it 5 stars.

I’m just now trying this, but I want to support non subscription developers. So far I am liking ChaosControl. It is intuitive, the GUI is clean and uncluttered, and I’m not inundated with ads nor pop ups.

I’m sue I could utilize more features but this is a good program whether you just want an ongoing todo list or want to sync all to your calendar

Is there a way to have tasks repeat multiple times a week or month, but not have to choose specific days or times? Just a general “3 times per week” type of choice.

I loved the idea of a central drop (chaos box) for all the things I remembered during the day, but there’s no way to redistribute or move these items into the days plan? Maybe I’m not paying enough. But it seems a very strange feature.

I really like ChaosControl overall. I can organize the projects however I want and I love that feature. However, I wish there were subtasks. Without that feature I don’t feel like I could use this on a daily basis.

Thank you for creating a “dumping ground” for all my random thoughts! When I am in a better frame of mind I can make a decision that makes sense...instead of being forced to think and navigate on the spot for every random thought I have.

This is a great app all around. It will be apart of my daily management for a long time. Very simple but efficient and I appreciate all of the guides on how to use ChaosControl .

So far I am enjoying the simple design for planning projects and keeping track of tasks completed.

Use ChaosControl everyday. Could love to tag other people in tasks and it Syncs with their task item.

Charge only once for syn between pc and iOS. And the price is reasonable.

Seems there is little option to get help with the free version IOS app. I don’t see any option for help under any IOS menu including settings or the search menu. Thanks!
