I hate to bash free technology, yet look elsewhere if you’re wanting to send follow up videos to your students as a golf coach. To quote it’s support team in numerous response emails, “Technique in its current format has more than its fair share of errors and bugs that can cause headaches.” Every initial invite of mine to a student ended up in a spam folder, and you receive zero confirmation from Hudl regarding these students’ acceptance of an invitation or a video. Ridiculously embarrassing having to ask your students to confirm such.

This is my go to app for my golf swing! One time fees to save lines etc would be nice as I don't need the video backup option. I used to give HudlTechniqueGolf 5 stars but I've been making one request for years now and it's just been ignored. Update this one thing, which I'm sure everyone will love and really appreciate once you explain its benefits, and I'll give the five stars back.

FEATURE REQUEST: Please give us the ability to move all the lines together, separate from the background video, for those shakey hands while recording. Especially for golf; the ball is in a fixed location for almost the entire video but unfortunately people's hands aren't.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us the option to move ALL the lines AT ONCE, TOGETHER! I typically start but setting up all my lines, including the location of the golf ball by making a simple X through it with two lines. Sure enough I start the slider and the camera man moves just slightly. If we could move all the lines at once we could align them back with the golf ball. This really can't be that hard to add, maybe just a lock button on the lines and then they move together. I'm sure there's going to be some problems with the video boundary as for some reason you also still don't let us draw in the black areaa of the video but I'm sure your expert team can figure it out. Thanks!

Anybody that has used HudlTechniqueGolf has noticed how frustrating it is to scroll through a video backwards or forwards since the controls are right next to the Apple home navigation bar. So as you are scrolling through your video, your Hudl window will unexpectedly move away entirely and replace with another app, which is super annoying. I hope the developers will move the scroll bar higher or to the side to avoid this behavior.

This application works well overall, but several of the interface elements conflict with the iPhone X. The trim bar is half hidden under other UI elements. Scrubbing through video requires precision lest you accidentally swipe on the bottom bar and switch apps. It’s a bit of a mess but simple updates would fix it and restore it to the great app it was on other models.

Overall great app...and I’ve used all the others! GREAT scrollable slider for the video itself!

Tweaks MOST needed (using iPhone X for reference):
-Larger player outline for lining up camera...who takes a video that far away
-Ability to hide top bar when comparing videos vertically. Screen is too cluttered making the videos too small to truly look at.

HudlTechniqueGolf is certainly getting better now. And I really appreciate the developers effort.

HudlTechniqueGolf is almost perfect for my golf needs. It's really amazing actually.
Just add the option to take videos with the volume button and HudlTechniqueGolf will be perfect. This allows me to take videos of myself using a selfie stand.

An original user, you used to allow auto-repeat when playing the swing.
It very visual to see something over and over, Al Gieberger did this on the way to a 59.
This should be a simple control to add, any reason it’s still not offered? Would be an easy 5.0 otherwise

Good tool to analyze your swing in slow motion.

In iOS, I wish that the bottom scrub bar could be raised a little higher. It's too easy to accidentally swipe to another app.

If you’re “working” on your game and aren’t recording yourself you WON’T accomplish much. HudlTechniqueGolf has shaved 8 strokes off my handicap in one year....you won’t believe what’s going on in your golf swing until you see it but I can assure you high handicappers like myself, it’s nothing like what you think.

HudlTechniqueGolf works great on the free version, you can record your swing, diagram with cool easy to use tools certain key points in alignment, set up, backswing, impact & follow through. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of seeing what you’re doing wrong in order to make the correct changes. I pay the extra $7.99 a month for the other cool features now but didn’t the first year, just used the free app and compared my swings throughout the year. It’s awesome and functions very smoothly, can also email, sms, save to camera roll your vids and the people you send em to can play them in slow mo. 4 different speeds, easy to use trim tool, HudlTechniqueGolf literally has it all. Good luck everyone, the first step to better golf is to become aware of what you’re doing wrong and HudlTechniqueGolf definitely shows you that.

A famous line used by golf swing coaches. What you think you are doing doesn’t correlate with reality. It’s one of the main reasons golf can be a difficult game to improve. With HudlTechniqueGolf and an on-line swing coach, (Thanks Clay and Quentin at Top Speed Golf!), my GHIN has gone from a 12 to a 2.6 in 18 months! One tip though: be sure the down the line view is exactly down the toe line straight at the target, and face-on is exactly square. Otherwise your angles won’t be accurate. And I’d go check out Clay Ballard’s website, too. It’s great to have the video of your swing, but when you know what to do about the swing flaws you’ve identified, that’s when the magic happens! Hit‘me Straight!

Nice features for a free app. You can learn 100 times more about your own golf swing by seeng it in slow motion than just trying to feel what you are doing. Now I have to find a tripod for my iPad. Won't go to the driving range again without it. The funny thing is that you see other people's swings and can spot swing flaws that need to be fixed, but you think yours is fine . . . Until you see it in slow motion. Thanks guys, nice app.

I use HudlTechniqueGolf every time I record my swing. It is easy to use and cropping the original video to just see my swing, gives me a great way to improve my game. I can start and stop the video just by using my finger. This gives me a view that you just can't get anywhere else. Give it a try and you will see what I'm saying.

I have owned this up for a few years now, the video is extremely easy to use, trim, superimpose lines over angles, just great all around features. Also love the fact that I have built a team to share videos with… Scores are coming down!

I have been using this video app for a number of years I have taught over 150,000 lessons.
This is by far one of the best if not the best devices in the teaching market !
If you want to get better and I don’t know anyone who does not want to get better than this is a must for you !

I've been getting back in to the game and HudlTechniqueGolf has become my primary tool for swing feedback and development. It does everything you'd expect and just works like it should - I highly recommend it.
