Voice Dictation dictate Reviews

I know, that I am supposed to write constructive criticism. However, when it comes to VoiceDictationdictate I have absolutely nothing to say. Scrap it! Everything I just said now, in this review, was done using voice recognition, the built-in iPhone one. Not only does your app not even come close to the standards of the voice recognition of the keyboard, it gets every word wrong. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, every second or third word. Why would anyone buy VoiceDictationdictate, when you can download it for free, and when they have a perfectly good voice recognition on the keyboards anyway. VoiceDictationdictate is useless, you can't even store notes! Move onto another project.

It actually records for about a minute. It should sa in the description that you can only record for about a minute at a time before it automatically clicks off with no warning. Also, when I clicked the copy function, I tried to paste it as a test into a text message or a Note - I could not figure out how to do either. It just says "Use the paste function." That another reason for my rating - there are no clear directions.

Excellent voice recognition, soon stopped connecting to server, rendering program useless. Lots of these programs seem to allow a small number of transcriptions per 24 hour period before they shut you off til the next day. Don't know if that's what's happening here, but was working great, until it stopped and won't connect to server. Wrote developer and waiting to hear.

It's terrible. I'm a born and raised American, yet even when I speak SLOWLY and CLEARLY it recognizes only 50% of what I say. It takes many tries to get it right, thus its slower than typing (short messages like for twitter, otherwise for long messages it can be faster when it hears correctly). Just bad. Not worth The money. Siri is a billion times better.

So far, it has been saying "failed to connect to server" every time I try to speak into the voice thing. I like VoiceDictationdictate when it actually works. Although it only worked for me for the first five minutes then it started screwing up. Needs to be fixed before I give it anything above three stars.

So we had some good laughs and contests to see who could get it to work perfectly (none of us could win two sentences though; enunciate as we might). Our fun ended when the error: "couldn't connect to server" stopped EVERYTHING! I'm glad it was free today cause I would NEVER buy a voice app that can't work away from a wifi server. Fun if free but useless for practical dictation.

It's definitely a cool app! If you have Siri or voice dictation though it's kind of pointless.. But it's the thought that counts.... I still have an iPhone 4 & I use a completely different more accurate one. This one records & 2/5 times get it right

For those of us who appreciate Siri on the iPhone and who miss this function on the iPad, this simple application provides a very reliable and powerful method for dictating text in a number of languages.

I have found the voice recognition in both English and French to be superb, and it's very easy to switch from one language to the other -well beyond the capabilities of Siri.

On the other hand, it seems a shame that this application lacks any direct interface with standard programs such as email.

Each block of text must be copied and pasted individually into the final document. The copy function does not allow for additional recording before repeating the process for another paragraph.

Still, this clever little tool can be a tremendous timesaver.

When this is working it is the most accurate voice recognition app I've found...but I often get messages that it can't connect to the server even when I have a strong signal...

I'm a native English speaker (US). Just tested this about a dozen times with a lot of background noise. There were only two times it didn't notice one or two words but even with that, the recognition and translation were good enough to send a text and have the recipient understand the text. I even tested curse words and it recognized them, albeit inserting an asterisk in place of one letter :-) This is a handy little app for times when physically typing a text is impossible.

I really like VoiceDictationdictate . It is easy to cut and paste your message to email text or other documents. My only criticism is that you can not stop and start again. Once you stop dictating you have to use it or lose it That was disappointing. You Better know what you want to say before you begin your dictation

It's better than dragon dictation. It actually types it perfectly 99% of the time and if it messes up its easy to fix before sending. Awesome!! Plus you can send in different languages. Perfect for DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE!!!! ABSOLUTELY

I love VoiceDictationdictate. It's going to be a very helpful tool for my blogging. All I have to do is edit the blog before posting and that takes no time to do. I'm enjoying VoiceDictationdictate very much :)

Nice but would be awesome if u could use voice recognition as to what to do with the message after it is complete rather than having to scroll through the contact list.

I loved VoiceDictationdictate! I can't believe how simple it is. I'm new to this technology and yes I'm older and have been a bit afraid of it. someone helped me out and I came across VoiceDictationdictate and had to see what it was about absolutely. Could not wait to get home to show the hubby what he could do too!!

Buy it before they go up! So easy to use, set language, speak aft hitting record. When done hit button again to stop and options to click come up, email, text, FB, twitter, etc. I highly recommend and I am 60, that's how easy it is.

I use portuguese language to dictate and it really understands what I am saying. It is very helpful, press once, dictate, press again to choose what you want to do with the text and you are done.

Apple should pay attention to VoiceDictationdictate and once for all make SIRI understand portuguese!!!

Sure, truly function might seem like a mediocre description for someone that has given VoiceDictationdictate a 5-star rating, but think about how man apps make promises and fall way short of what they're supposed to do. So far, VoiceDictationdictate has successfully transcribed every word, verbatim, that I have spoken. I've even tried to slur my speech (deliberately), but it still transcribed all my words successfully. The only wish I have is that it could transcribe the end of each sentence with the appropriate punctuation. So, truly functional, in my book, means that it is truly impressive! I've even placed VoiceDictationdictate on the bottom line as part of my top-tier apps, so I can access it quickly. I highly recommend VoiceDictationdictate.

Software does mediocre job at accurately recognizing words. My big complaint is it only records for a short time (15 seconds maybe) before cutting you off without notification.
