WSOC-TV Channel 9 Weather App Reviews

I am 51 years old and I have been watching channel 9 news and weather since I was a young boy having to change the channels on grandma and grandpa’s TV by hand, turned the knob😂 I drive a truck and haul logs all day long so I am outdoors all day and I’ll follow yawls forecast and radar all day long! Keep up the great work I will try to get some videos or photos when I’m out in the weather! God bless all!

No matter where I go I can always get the latest and greatest local weather report and especially the local radar plus warnings well in advance of all types of hazardous weather storms…. AND THEIR ACCURATE!! Best weather app of all of them and I’ve tried many, this one is a keeper…and a user for your weather forecast!!David

Enjoyed WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp until they started making you watch an ad before the video. Get a notification of “Breaking News”, tap on it to see the “Breaking News” and have to endure a 30 second video ad before seeing the “Breaking News”. By the time the ad finish’s, the news conference or video about the situation is concluding or you have missed major portion of the information.

Since the station no longer accepts email, we’ll use WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp .
Neither the iPhone app nor the part time chief meteorologist provide Dew point, but every other station in the area does.
I will not watch someone who can’t enunciate, slurs and emotes over weather and is usually wrong. I will also not watch anyone who drools over whiz-bang radar at the expense of ignoring the balance of the viewing area.

As for WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp , put the dew point in the iPhone app and you have 5 stars. You have radar options.

In the meantime, I’ll watch Keith and Ashley, or another station when they’re not on.

Previous versions of WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp had the ability to view video of the most recent weather forecast. This was useful to those of us who were interested in weather. The WSOC-TV meteorologists do a great job.

What knucklehead thought that the streaming video of anything but weather would be meaningful in WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp? Whoever that was kick them in the shins or give them a dope slap.

I’m not sure what happened but WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp hardly ever works right anymore. The temperature nearly always says it’s 77 degrees, morning, noon and evening, every day of the week. Also, the radar no longer works. I’ve tried uninstalling and installing it again but it didn’t help. I’m going to permanently uninstall it and find something else.

Their weather app is the best that I have ever used, it alerts me well ahead of what is on it’s way. I would recommend WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp to anyone it gets a Thumbs up from me.

I work outside on a daily basis and the channel 9 weather app is very helpful in preparing me for the day and alerts throughout the day!

Not sure what happened but for about a month now when looking at Daily high/low it is not accurate. Have to open up Hourly to get an accurate high & low for the day. Example today its showing High of 70 & highest temp it gets all day today is 56. Please fix it. Thx

To much air time on weather!!! It is the same thing on all the broadcast .Most of the time it’s wrong.

Always on Point

The old version of WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp was my go-to weather app of choice. Too many lousy changes on the new one, I won’t use it anymore. Have switched to a competing app. Will be deleting on 5/1 after old version stops working.

Why not keep a version that runs on iOS 9?

Easy to use and understand. Updated regularly. Love the WSOC team.

WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp and the weather team behind it is simply the best for the Charlotte metro area.

Would be great to be able to see the weather hourly and to click on that day and see outlays for each day

Too difficult to navigate. Not all fats have forecast information. Forecast information provided on current and next day is limited and not helpful. There are better apps that you could use. I see WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp used with other news stations in other cities and it’s just as useless with them. I find most other apps have tons of good information for every day up to 10 days and very detailed info on current and next day.

You had a good working radar. The new one is seriously inadequate. Please go back to your previous radar.

Radar is important to me.

Since the new update it says I need to connect to WiFi when I open WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp or error failed. I have to reboot my phone to get it to work. Not very useful

The update ruined WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp . It crashes constantly. Missing features the other app had. Deleting it and getting another local app. Very disappointing..

Used 5 gigs of data in 10 days and has cost me $60 in overage charges so far.

WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp was great before the update. It is no longer user friendly and difficult to navigate.

White on blue letters are awful

WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp is unreliable. Daily forecasts are not always updated properly. For example, WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp displayed a 40% chance of rain throughout the day with a heavy flooding alert with no time table. However, WSOCTV News at Noon predicted a 10% chance of rain with no flooding threats. The entire day had almost no clouds and not a drop of rain. There have been other inconsistencies, but another issue with WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp is that sometimes it will no give me the current day's forecast. The seven day forecast will begin with the following day. I have closed and relaunched WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp to see if it the issues would be corrected. I even tried installing and then re- installing WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp . It's broken. Steve Udilson is wrong; WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp is not mu best friend.

I used the video feature daily and now it’s no longer available. Very disappointed with this change. Also, the previous version seemed faster to access the hourly forecast. Now you have to open a completely separate page to get this feature. We used WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp at work regularly to plan our jobs based on weather conditions and it was great. Now it’s just another app.

Tells me and alerts me when need which is AWESOME but I loved the old version better. The new one doesn’t have a well put together radar and I can’t see news or videos anymore. Go back to the old version!

The old app worked great so why change it? The menu on WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp is easy to navigate, but that is about all I can say about the new set-up. The contrast is lighter. Which makes it harder for persons with poor vision to read. I prefer a weather app without adds. The adds are very distracting. I appreciate the time and work that went into making the new app, but am asking that you consider making a few improvements that would help those of us with poor vision.

I like WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp but in the summer they can hardly prodict a weather forcast a day away and they say it's not going to rain and yet it rains or they say it's going to rain and it dosent rain at all its a 20 percent acuricy for the summer and spring time the good part is the notification they send out the alerts and sometimes there fucher cast so it's good to have but watch out the acuricy needs to be a tad better

WSOCTVChannel9WeatherApp is wonderful. It's more useful than I even thought it would be. I love the audio warnings for severe weather that is coming to my area and the school closings tab. I have several locations set up throughout the country for my travels. Great job, this is a keeper!
