KCRG-TV9 First Alert Weather Reviews

Many times KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather has frozen (won’t open past the home screen), won’t open (says turn on Wi-Fi - Wi-Fi is on and everything else works perfectly). Very frustrating. This happened on my old iPhone and now with my I have new up to date iPhone. I love using weatherunderground. It’s much more up to date and doesn’t crash or freeze. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than 20 times during the last year in order to check the weather during a storm when it is “frozen”. If it wasn’t for the times this does work, and the school cancellations, I would ditch KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather.

Until today I would have given the KCRG more than 2 stars. Last night the weather station I relied on for weather info & alerts worked perfectly. Now KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather is telling me that “ the application is not available in my location”. I haven’t moved. I have the same phone. I still can use the KCRG News app. What has changed?
have used the weather app for a number of years because I trusted the team to provide the most accurate, updated weather forecast. I watched Joe Winters before there were apps. I already miss him! Help!!

I’ve never had an issue with it. It’s my favorite app to use for checking the weather. It’s usually the most accurate and up to date predicted information you can get.

A while back an update to the weather app took away the big radar view that let me see if I needed to be concerned about an imminent storm or weather change.

Now after the insertion of the same meaningless ad day after day to get into the site, I have to hunt to find even the most basic bits of weather news among all of the unneeded clutter on the screen now.

I want simple information quickly from a weather app. If I need something more in depth, I can scroll down.

KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather used to be incredible. Accurate and detailed radar with many useful alerts. For some reason they keep updating KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather making it harder and harder to use. It used to have a single banner ad, very reasonable for a free app. Now starting KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather gives you an entire page ad for at least 10 seconds. They have also decreased the size of the radar preview making it all but useless.

Ever since the new update my radar doesn’t work. There are time when nothing shows on radar but then I go to a different weather app and it will show cells in our area. Used to be my go to app but can’t trust it any longer

Very Accurate keeps you up to date sends notifications to alert you if needed.

No seriously, does it? I’ve had it load for me twice in the past four weeks, and I check the weather every day. They used to give me the most reliable up-to-date weather for any local area, and their weather maps were the best out there. I miss them terribly, but one of these days I’m going to stop checking to see if it will work for me.

Really like KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather but in order to use the weather function on my Apple Watch I have to use a different app. It would be nice to get a version that will work with Apple Watch so that I can continue to use KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather!

Some of the past issues have been resolved i.e. crashing and the frozen radar page but the widget is stuck on weather from a week ago. I tried restarting my phone, deleting KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather and reinstalling KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather but it makes no difference. And where is the barometric pressure? Where’s KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather support?

Once upon a time this was my favorite weather app. When I want to see a forecast I don’t want to see a bunch of advertising. Like most apps any more they a just a bunch of advertisements for garbage I really don’t want to see. I think I will delete this garbage and tune in to the AM radio for my weather.

I knew from commercials that KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather had changed designs. I did not like the way it looked, so I avoided updating. I accidentally updated it a week ago and I was right, I hate it. I am considering looking at other apps, even though I love channel 9 and I’m used to the meteorologists. There is just too much going on when you first open KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather . It’s difficult to find the information I am looking for.

Every time you want to watch the weather forecast you have to watch an advertisement. You would think that a tv station would be happy that you are using their app. That shows loyalty. But instead they use KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather to jam advertisements down your throat.

I constantly have trouble with the radar loading, no matter how many times I play with the map layers it won’t show precipitation accurately. I end up closing and pulling up your competitors app and it loads perfectly fine.

I used to love KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather. Now I use a different one. A change was made and now all it says when you click on the shaded area is “special weather statement”. That does not tell me enough information. It used to say things like “tornado watch” or “severe thunderstorm warning” which is actually useful. So disappointed in KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather.

Not sure who thought scrolling through multiple screens worth of info to find what I’m looking for was a good idea! And the map on the main screen is now < 25% of the visible screen! These most recent changes are not good, and after years of using KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather, I may look for a replacement. 😕

Accurate and very helpful

KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather has used 4 hours of background activity in the last 24 hours. I only opened KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather once to check the temp. I don’t even have notifications on. There is no way to block this in the background activity settings either. Please fix this as it’s drawing my batttery. Thx!

Every time KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather is updated it works worse than the time before. Now it freezes so often that I’m probably going to just unload it and find another app. This is becoming way to annoying.

Can’t stand the advertisements when it opens. Looking at other apps because of this

Ever since the most recent update, the play button on my radar is gone. KCRG is the only radar I have currently, so this bug is going to force me to use other apps.

I have turned off the lightning and precipitation notifications via settings in KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather but still receive those notifications...all the time. I turned these off months ago and the problem still persists.

I like KCRGTV9FirstAlertWeather but where is the play button to loop the radar. I liked being able to see what direction the storm is moving.

Don’t know if it’s just me but every time they make a change it takes longer time load. I can’t wait for several minutes for a weather app to load. It’s great once it loads.

Network errors, missing data, app freezes. Just not reliable.

I love the new update- it actually works flawlessly & I can play the videos now.

Sooner or later you'll have to implement this, right? Otherwise does what it says.

Wish I could uninstall this latest update! It’s horrible. Freezes up constantly! Absolutely hate the new radar and the past + future buttons. The old radar was great! Loved it. This is junk! Hopefully you guys redo this soon!

This is maybe the worst app I have. It constantly freezes up, many times after you wait through all of the commercials to play first.
