Bought a 1 year subscription to IncomeTaxCalculator in July 2018 and with the recent update I lost all my saved tax plans + it no longer recognized my subscription. After back and forth communication with the developer they said they couldn’t help me, that it was Apple’s fault. I took it up with iTunes and they gave me a refund. I repurchased the 1 year subscription and it still says I don’t have an active subscription. Shame on me for giving them a second chance.

Don’t rely on IncomeTaxCalculator if you have any significant amount of LTCG. I’ve been a big fan of IncomeTaxCalculator, but currently there is a big error in how AMT is calculated. Basically it says I owe AMT on my LTCG. I’ve emailed support about the specific line in error. I even detailed when the IRS form changed, but I’ve received no reply. 🤷‍♂️

Love IncomeTaxCalculator , been using it for a couple of years. However, the 2018 update keeps using an incorrect deduction total. No matter how many deductions you enter it remains the same. So right now IncomeTaxCalculator is no good to me. Please fix, I’m trying to do some tax planning and my “go to” app is useless.

Easy to input data and results are shown immediately in one simple list. Can also show you what the values are on most lines on 1040 form.

One thing I found missing: charitable contributions, even when taking standard deduction. Singles can take up to $300 and married filing jointly take $600 adjustment to income. See line 10b on 1040 form. Fix that and it’s a five star app.

Comparing with a major tax software, this does a very good job, however it has a couple of places where it makes mistakes...calculation of the Child Tax Credit, for example, fails to properly apply income limitations.

I have been using IncomeTaxCalculator for three years and love it. Accurate and easy to use. This year when I went to purchase it as required every year all my data was lost again. Same thing happened with previous yearly updates. What a pain. This year it said iCloud was not available. It was. Always has been.

Requires only a few minutes to enter top level summary data to get a detailed tax forecast for a given year with all the supporting worksheet detail to understand it. Quickly identified a big problem in my detailed spreadsheet forecast that I was able to fix with a new subtable. Taxmode was available in November long before FreeTaxUSA and TurboTax in mid-January and take 1/10th the time for a decent result.

Provides an efficient way to calculate and analyze tax scenarios involving income and capital gains or loss. IncomeTaxCalculator is very useful for year end planning. I often use IncomeTaxCalculator as well as the desktop version of Taxmode and am very satisfied with it.

I like its design. The data input items and all the results are on the same screen in front of you making tax planning quick and efficient. Tax computations seem to be well covered.

I use it often for quick tax comps. It is very easy to use and provides fully-supported results. It provides choice for 3 tax years that is helpful in analyzing income allocation between two years. Excellent job.

I HATE iphone (all apple products) since most of the apps are deceptive. This is one of very few apps that are FREE and does what it says without hidden or subscription fees.

This whole IRS paying income tax is expensive, hard and stressful enough. IncomeTaxCalculator quickly helps put my mind at ease when trying to figure out estimated income tax payments. I am forever grateful for this!!

I use this all year to help my clients understand their tax situation. Entering information is easy and can be done quickly. You get accurate results. Reports are easily understandable as they mimic the federal tax return. This is the perfect tax planning app for professionals and even nonprofessionals.

It is a good app for necessary tax computations for the current tax year. The availability of the tax years before and after the current year makes it better; and it really shines for its reporting of calculation details and automatic compare feature. Really well done app.

I like TaxMode because I can use it all year long for planning because it is fast and easy to use. I like the Full Mode. I also find it to be a very useful “double check” before I efile my Federal Income tax return, which is done with a different app.

I have used IncomeTaxCalculator for 2 years. It does miss some categories like Roth conversions and charitable donations. I just use one of the given categories to capture these items. Some user defined categories would also be helpful.

This is a great tax planning app. Underneath its simple result display and a pie chart showing elements of income and tax there seems thorough implementation of income tax computations. All types of taxes are computed automatically if they are applicable based on the data entered. It provides computational details when you tap on any number on the result display. It will show the corresponding IRS form detailing how the tax amount was calculated.

I have been using TaxMode for over a year. I like IncomeTaxCalculator but like its timeliness for updates much more. Tax planning is most useful before year end when I can act to save taxes. IncomeTaxCalculator is great when it comes to tax updates. Also, I like the details of computations provided with one tap. Gives you a great ability to analyze tax related situations instantly.
