Nice idea but didn’t work for me

I used eventScribe on my phone at a conference and it continually crashed on me or lagged significantly. Having 15 minutes between lectures and trying to decide what class to take next and it would crash when trying to read the class description.

Secondly I brought my chrome book to be able to take notes on the slides during presentations and could not get it to work on chrome book. eventScribe works for checking times and logging CEUs but crashed every time I tried to click to view slides. Tried the website with same problem. Emailed tech support they supposedly fixed it. Next day brought the chrome book and it still didn’t work. So I lugged around my chrome book for 2 days for nothing. There was another work around they said I could try but I didn’t want to lug it around again went to the old reliable pen and paper method.

The concept is great and I used something similar at another event a few years ago so I was excited this convention had the same thing, but was left a bit disappointed.

Buggy, laggy, crashes, doesn't include live Q&A

eventScribe does two things well: because it doesn't seem to respect the start times for presentations, you can watch them early on here. That's actually really nice and the reason I kept using it for three days. The second thing it does well is allow me to sit on the couch and watch a presentation and 'cast it to the TV.

The issues with this thing are legion. Crashes, sits for 30 seconds on a page, doesn't include the live q&a video (which is in another app from the same company and show up on the PC)... it's just not good. The regular presentation page can lock up along with the q&a... there's almost no reason to use this instead of a browser.

Easy to use and did exactly what I wanted it to do.

I used eventScribe at a Management Association HR Conference and love it. I was able to take notes easily during the presentations, and I had control over how much of my contact info was shared with other attendees. I also really liked being able to ask questions during the presentation via eventScribe , and it was helpful to see other questions that were being submitted so I didn’t ask the same thing as someone else.

Awesome features

The best meeting app I have ever used. The “my schedule“ feature and ability to sort by date, the phone notifications, and ease-of-use of the whole app make it highly useful and gets rid of the need for a paper program. You can even take notes in eventScribe , though I have not tried it myself. Definitely recommend and hope future meetings that I attend will utilize this platform.

Frozen

This program kept freezing. When you first open on your phone its great but when your phone closes and you reopen the phone the program is Frozen. You have to swipe the
Program Close and reopen. Also had to take a survey and couldn't finish it at that moment and I closed the phone my survey didn't save it had to be restarted.

Love this App!

I have used eventScribe a few times now and have been very pleased each time. It’s super helpful, easy to use, the notifications are on point and never once did I experience any issues. Everything I needed for my event all in one place.

Slow. Crashes. Couldn’t use it

I just went to a conference that used this platform and it was terrible. It is not a very large conference but the organization had to pull down all of the presentations and supplemental information because it crashed eventScribe . eventScribe opens very slowly and every time you open eventScribe you have to re-select the conference. Very slow transitions within the program as well. I’ve been to many conferences that use apps and this is by far the worst, hardest to navigate platform I’ve ever encountered.

Better

eventScribe worked better than last time I used it, but it was still buggy. Example had to hit session evaluation 3 or 4 times to get to evals. Had trouble getting it to add CEUs correctly. It also only exported the first page of PDF documents to apple notes. I wish this worked better.

Loved This App

I used eventScribe for the first time for NAHN 2021. I was pleasantly surprised at its ease of use, scheduling of events directly on to my iPhone calendar, and ability to take notes in eventScribe ! I highly recommend it.

Did not meet the expectations

This is a slow program especially if you depend on wifi connection at a meeting. It was worthless to use with my IPad and made me wear the phone battery to useless. When the phone goes to sleep you have to restart the application instead of going where you were. It crashes a lot. Good concept if it works.

Notes inconsistent

Depending on how you access notes per session they might not share from one view to next. One view only allowed 3 lines of text w no option to expand text window.

Awesome!

I love, love, love eventScribe. Leave the notebooks at home. You can do it all right on eventScribe. View all lecture slides, write on the slides, highlight answers or text, take notes with the pop-up keyboard. This is the cat’s meow and I’m spoiled!!!

Inflexible meeting app

Frustrated with eventScribe for professional meeting presentation and networking.
1. App account limits devices from which you can access it to 1. So you cannot look at the schedule on your phone and later take notes on a laptop.
2. Navigation is not intuitive. And social/activity feed should be front and center. Not divided up by day. Note taking and slide presentation in app is super clunky
3. App crashes when you follow links out of eventScribe and then return later.

Would not recommend Cadmium for your professional meeting needs unless they invest significant resources into usability of this product.

Questionable Support

eventScribe is good but it took three emails to customer service and one to the meeting planner to get eventScribe installed properly. At one point, two different tech support reps were emailing me, both with partial information and no single message with enough info. Once I finally got the right info, it was a surprising number of steps to install it. I expect app installation to be DIY!!

Aatod 2019 Orlando

User friendly... well organized, easy to navigate and a very useful too that was so helpful during this entire conference

Event scribe

This is a great app. I am very impressed it was so useful.

4 stars only because the check in/out had technical problems.

By

Pretty good

I’d love a way to be able to message other conference attendees and also to download the contents of the coherence app to a PC and keep it so it won’t be overridden by next year’s app for the same conference.

By

Ok app

The inability to move around without going in and out is cumbersome

By

Ok app

Worked ok when a video of a conference session was available, however when I had to download slides and play the audio it crashed continuously. Like practically every slide, which is a lot in a 69 slide presentation. Very frustrating!

By

Slow and buggy

Also, frequently locks up. Not a good experience using eventScribe. Unfortunately, there is no competition and once a conference commits, you’re stuck with it or their web interface. Disappointing in this day.

AATOD Conference

Awesome, useful tool readily available to provide information needed when attending a conference! Love it

EventScribe @ AMUG 2019

Used this app for AMUG 2019. Wonderful for keeping track of the seminars I wanted to attend as well as other venue info (maps, etc). It did seem to glitch necessitating a reinstall, otherwise would have been 5-stars.

Blockland Conference usage

Inconsistent info, crashed a few times, non functioning links, etc. hard to know app vs conference folks problems for sure.
Very good ideas in eventScribe, but so far better theory than execution

is it still 2009?

eventScribe was clearly written in 2009, using iOS icons from iOS 4 or 5. it just straight up doesn't work, and is not intuitive to use. I am going to strongly suggest that the conference I attend every year stop using this terrible joke of an application.

Healthy Aging Summit 2018

Excellent app and easy to use. Thank you

Slow, no better than the mobile web site

Might as well just bookmark the website. This doesn't offer much else and seems even slower.

EventScribe

I used eventScribe at a conference. The slide shows were difficult to read and enlarge. The schedule part worked great!
