Hate it It’s so much pressure for the timer I hate it

Really

The notes are in wrong areas

What is this

2024-06-21

I downloaded NameThatNote to my iPhone. But there is a big orange triangle that t cannot get rid of. Suggestion?

Your update is terrible

2024-07-26

This WAS a great app. Yalls update is confusing and hard to understand. We keep clicking treble clef only and it immediately quizzes my kids on the bass clef. Also, we can barely see the notes because the notes are black against a dark blue background. Please change it back!!

Can’t see the notes

2024-06-21

Sorry, but the black staff on blue background is very hard to see. I can’t find a setting to change this.

Need help

2024-03-25

Hi, I've downloaded NameThatNote and the background looks dark and notes are not easy to read. Is there any way to fix that?

Pretty good

2024-09-26

Luv NameThatNote easy use and fun helps a lot with learning music notes.
I feel like it should give you more time though with showing the answer if you get the note wrong. It doesn't exactly interest me only because it is the same game OVER AND OVER AND Over And Over And over and over..... Anyway, I think it needs something to make it more exciting for people. Otherwise great educational app. I am only giving it three stars though because it isn't something I would highly recommend as it would have to b for someone patient enough to play it constantly.🌟🌟🌟

Great little trainer.

Wouldn't mind an even easier level for noobs, but NameThatNote is good.

Great for my students

2024-03-28

I use this for my students to help with note recognition. They love it. I agree about needing a way to track their progress. That is the only reason I gave it a four. Would have given it a 4 1/2 if I could.

Great app!

2024-05-01

I like it! I would have rated 5 stars if not for the following glitches. On the advanced level, the first question gives about 1 sec. to answer whereas the following questions give more time. Also, it would be great to keep track of the scores to rate one's progress. I'm already thinking of ways to integrate NameThatNote. into my students lessons.

Good app

2025-01-19

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because you can't turn off the timer. I don't like that it is sort of a "game" where you have to "win" before the time expires. It would be nice to have time to think if I need to and then give the right answer. It would also be nice if it had piano keys to pick the notes from. Other than that it is what I was looking for.

“A title”

2024-05-28

Is it just me, or do some of the time signatures in advanced mode not exist?

Exactly what I was looking for!

2024-12-30

I'm returning to the clarinet after a 25 year hiatus, and although my playing technique is surprisingly un-bad, and I have a reasonably good understanding of the rhythm/timing of the various notes, my recognition of notes on the staff is awful. The basic and simple "flashcard" style of NameThatNote is just what I was hoping to find.

My only criticism was that notes would often repeat several times during each "quiz", sometimes one right after another. But the developer took care of that with an update!

Great App

2025-01-06

I love NameThatNote and it is great practice.

Awesome app

2024-09-26

Really helped with my kids who had a hard time memorizing the notes.

Just what I needed!

2024-07-26

This just made learning so much more fun. I really appreciate having NameThatNote around!

Effective

2024-09-26

I play this game nearly everyday and I’ve memorized a lot of playing piano or reading music. I’ve memorized key notes on keyboard and to read all of middle c notes. I’ll be practicing the bass notes when I feel ready. However, I love this practice game because it makes it fun to memorize reading music.

Much Better

2024-09-26

Title says it all. This version of Name The Note is much better and 'cleaner' then the pervious patch/update.

GREAT APP!

2024-09-26

This is a MUST if you want to learn the other clef, or if you are new to music!

I've played French Horn, Mellophone, and trumpet since 6th grade, but I've become interested in learning Trombone. I know the treble clef, but I don't know the bass clef. I've been using this application for ONLY 5 MINUTES, and I'm already starting to memorize the bass notes!

I'll be playing jazz on Trombone in no time thanks to you!

Thanks a ton!

Features

Fluent note reading requires a certain amount of memorising positions on a staff, recognising accidentals and knowing key signatures.

Name That Note uses a ‘flash card style’ way of displaying the question along with four answers, one correct and three incorrect, to choose from.

Beginner Level - Answer 10 questions with 6 seconds allowed per question.

Intermediate Level - Answer 20 questions with 3 seconds allowed per question.

Advanced Level - Answer 30 questions with 2 seconds allowed per question.

Similarly to how we learn to recognise the individual letters of the alphabet, Name That Note can help you learn the note names on a staff (stave).

After an answer is selected, or the time limit for that question runs out, the correct answer is displayed briefly before going to the next question.

Note positions are restricted to 1 ledger line above and below the staff.

Note positions are restricted to 2 ledger lines above and below the staff.

Note positions can extend as far as 4 ledger spaces either side of the staff.

Just like a multiple choice question only one answer is the correct one.

Name That Note is a note spelling quiz for all ages.

Whether you’re a novice at reading music or a virtuoso this app offers a challenge at any level.

Once there are no more questions a total score is given.
