SCE- Your app is SAD

5/6: So now it’s just the website in MySCE. Nothing more. I mean it works, but pathetic.

Last review: As soon as I moved to a new address this pathetic app couldn’t handle two accounts so I can no longer access the account features on MySCE. Edison, why in 2020 is your app and website still garbage? Take a hint from all of the 1 ⭐️ reviews on here. Original Review: After all these years SCE finally updated their app! They’re about 10 years late but better late than never I guess. It works 1000% better than their old app but that’s not saying much because a 90’s Packard Bell computer running Windows 95 would have worked better than that garbage app. Way to go Edison!

Another Antiquated Utility App

Never thought about how poorly all these utility companies are run until I moved into my home for the first time. Edison is just another in a long line of poorly designed online experiences. MySCE was worked on for however long to end up just redirecting to the website from the within MySCE . Now MySCE doesn’t even work! Almost every utility I pay for each month is just the website saved to my home screen because either MySCE doesn’t exist or it’s so bad it’s not worth using. How can these lazy companies not have a basic functioning app that lets me see my usage and pay the bill?

Worst app I’ve ever had on my phone!

95% it says they’re having technical difficulties & it will not let me even login. Don’t even bother downloading! To add on to this poor review even their website is terrible! Cannot access basic things! Please do something about your website/app/customer service/online bill pay/ literally everything!! It is the worst app I have ever used or most glitchy website I’ve ever visited. Of this wasn’t the major power provider in SoCal I would have nothing to do with this! Please do something about it!

Nothing works

I downloaded MySCE to pay my bill but all it does is open a page saying this version of MySCE can’t show my account and provides a link to the website. But when I go to the website, it says their having technical issues. How am I supposed to pay my bill without being charged $2 extra each time over the phone?

MySCE works most of the time but it's slow and clunky. Definitely not optimized for latest OS. It's been over two years since the last update. Disappointing for a company as large as Edison. Update.. They finally "updated" MySCE . Now it's just a link to their mobile site. Really? SCE won't even take the time to create a stand alone app? Not even worth 2 stars anymore...

Update, Nothing has changed in all this time? Clearly not a priority. It’s a shame… Use to be a convenient way to check energy usage hour by hour.

WORST EVER APP

MySCE has NEVER worked. Issues for years!! The IT Dept should be fired. Never seen anything so worthless in my life. All the money they have and they can’t even have an app that runs even 20% of the time efficiently. Constantly out of service, constantly crashing, constant non stop issues. Unreal this is being allowed to happen for this many years. Someone needs to be fired down there for incompetency.

Very poorly designed app

Difficult to use. Not so much the user interface, as knowing what you need to do when and how. Since the user ID is the email, changing your email involved a lot of work. And I could not use MySCE until I got my email changed. The wait on the phone for service representative was almost an hour. Once I got the service representative, it took the two of us another 30 minutes to get everything squared away with my account so I could use MySCE . Not worth the wait.

Just like your customer service MySCE is useless. I felt so stupid for not even looking to see if you had an app since your website and phone payment options are garbage. And then felt really smart when I guessed that it probably wouldn’t even work. Signed in and it immediately said this version of MySCE couldn’t access my profile and gave me a link to the garbage website. Please we are begging you, invest in MySCE and ways for your customers to just pay their bills with ease.

Update or Delete

So I did at one time have an app that I could pay my bill in about 60 seconds… what happened to that version? This version is only a browser that opens the SCE website and even that doesn’t work all the time. At the time of writing the star rating is at 1.6 so I’m not the only one disappointed. We need an actual app, and not this browser version. Please update or do us all a favor and remove it, it only adds confusion to an already uncomplicated process.

Terrible app

MySCE was working just fine for a few months and now it’s force closing just after opening MySCE ... it won’t even let me sign in. I’ve looked back for updates thinking perhaps that was the problem not there’s no update.... MySCE was a total fail about a year or two ago so I deleted it but then decided to give it a try again a few months ago and it was working just fine I was even able to make a payment until about a month or so ago

Bad Reviews????

I’m not understanding all the bad reviews. I have been keeping track of my billings for a number of years and with a little time and effort, I have no trouble finding my way around their website. I gave it a four star rating only because there’s always room for improvement.

Update to the above review. I just deleted MySCE . I now agree with all the negative ratings. What a useless app it was. Looks like another embarrassment to SCE. Your reputation is shot.

Doesn’t do much

You can view your bill and report an outage, but that’s about it. So not much value-add here. If it provided access to up-to-date energy usage charts I’d happily give it 5 stars for the convenience of not having to go to the website. But until then, it’s back to the website I guess.

App not working

For last few months I haven’t been able to use ap to pay bill it say being repaired let you know when to use it I’m billless also I can only pay online and now I have to go on website a and up paying fees for useing service etc who know when it will be fixed or if it will be fixed

MySCE was perfect at first. It was so easy and convenient to pay my bill. All of a sudden about 2 months ago it just says ‘technical issues’. I can’t even log in anymore. I’ve tried many times since. I have to go to the sce website now to pay my bill so what’s the point of having MySCE anymore?

New update actually works... mostly.

I (finally!) have a (mostly) functional app that doesn’t crash or force me to go to the web site like before. It can be used to access all my account information available through the web site with the convenience of a phone app. About time!

The only payment option is STILL a bank account link (um...no! I refuse to give my bank account information out to live on anyone else’s server - no good can possibly come of that!) so I still have to set up push transfers from my bank to pay the bill, but MySCE is a step in the right direction to maybe, someday being able to simply pay my bill with a credit or debit card like the rest of the universe does (even the DMV is ahead of you and accepts card payments now! C’mon guys... really?) At the very least I can check usage, etc. right from MySCE , so that’s something. Better than before.

Congrats to SCE for finally bringing their customer convenience level up to where everyone else was in about... oh... 2011 or so. Enable card (or PayPal?) payments and you’ll be up to more-or-less modern customer expectations. You're almost there! Don’t quit now!

In all seriousness, MySCE IS a step in the right direction and gives one a little hope for the future.

The SCE app has been updated with a newer design and has basic features, pretty much paying your bill, view your bill and reporting outages. It would be great to have mor features that are similar to what banks have to show usage, create budget alerts, and other relevant communications. Well this is a far cry from what we expect today it is at least a good start.

Thank you for updating and simplifying MySCE. It’s simple yet nicely designed and easy to navigate through. Just updated and MySCE is already responsive and doesn’t lag or crash. This should raise MySCE rating for sce.

Don’t quite understand what’s going on with your app? When I click on my screen at the Edison APP it pops up then disappears!!! Pretty disappointing when you track things to keep things down!

MySCE not opening

LOVE MySCE for checking everything from current SCE billling and usage,to past info as well! Today, APP will not open on my IPhone….update of some sort I’m not seeing?
In AppSupport, not seeing where to alert if having problems with MySCE alone…still recommend with a 5 star rating!

The new update is next level..

update: the new update made the already broken app to the next level, and SCE are so proud of it. They send me 2 emails to advertise the broken app. After the update, MySCE only worked as a short cut to the browser. Now you need to open MySCE , and MySCE will open sce on the browser for you. I don't understand why SCE are still putting resources to "develop" the "app". Using browser at the first place is much easier than using this broken app.

Complete misrepresentation of an app

On MySCE Store, the screen shots of MySCE lead you to believe that they are all what MySCE can do. Not so. Only the very first image (with the 4 icons) is what you see when you open MySCE . I’m on an iPhone 7plus and clicking any of those icons is basically a shortcut to the mobile website where you still have to enter your credentials to log in. 😑 All the other screenshots are basically the website as viewed on someone’s phone. This is not an app. It’s a shortcut to the SCE website.

Worst app ever

No way to log in with Touch ID, does not let you stay logged in, I will log in.. click bill pay and it will ask me to log in AGAIN. Half of the time MySCE is down always “under maintenance” asks how it can be improved but never gets improved. Not an easy app to navigate. If you are not tech savvy you will struggle with MySCE. App does not seem to be updated often or maybe even never. It’s like they made MySCE for the first version of iPhone and haven’t touched it since.

Garbage

Absolute garbage the lady that helped me understand how and why I’m supposed to be paying 550$ plus a month tells me get MySCE it helps keep track of energy usage. Lol the only thing this stupid app does is allow me to pay my bill on time real convenient but for who. Edison you steal enough money from people as it is how about pay an app developer enough to make one that works. Doesn’t log on correctly freezes can’t access usage section because it’s crashes all the time. Garbage

Only 4 updates in 6 years. Yeah, MySCE never stood a chance. SCE, please turn this into a real app. Go back to the drawing board. I feel like this is a case of management saying “Well we tried and nobody used it.” Well I can say this, if an app is user-hostile, poorly designed, or in particular, made me login every single time I open it, yeah of course nobody’s going to use it. Having usage info, history and billing ~easily~ available would be extremely useful for the energy conscious in SoCal.

You’d think with as much money as SoCal residents give them they’d be able to afford a halfway decent iOS developer. Someone capable of designing a usable UI that conforms to modern day iPhones, while also allowing the SUPER complex process of “Pay My Bill”. Including four or five things users may do once a year, it can’t be that hard. Maybe send an employee to the local adult school to learn basic coding? This would all be amazing. I mean, there’s an app to make cars drive to you. Like Batman. How come I’m closer to being Batman than I am paying my power bill from an app.

MySCE is by far the worst app I have ever used. After reading the reviews I want expecting much but I was completely unprepared for how bad MySCE truly is.

MySCE is buggy, it constantly gives you log in errors, it redirects you to broken links and when it does work, you are stuck with an interface and layout that seems to have been designed by someone completely unfamiliar with even basic web design.

SCE needs to fire the entire team behind MySCE and start over.

Absolute waste of time of a Company

The most incompetent company in SoCal. They keep messing my account, spend hours on phone being verified only for their representatives not be able to give me my account information??
Why the hell do they not give a choice on provider??? 4 years with SDGE I’ve never had a single issue. 2 months with SCE and they’ve changed my accounts twice without my authorization and refuse to assist. Absolutely useless! 6 representatives. All this to try to view and pay my bill online. What a joke! Who do you have to sue to change providers? Disgusted by this company.

SCE makes how much money annually, and yet they put their name on this low quality app? Seriously? This is the type of app you would expect a “mom and pop” general store to release, not a power company behemoth. I know almost nothing about coding, but I’m pretty sure I could create a low quality app on par with this.

After living in an area that was serviced by someone else with a functional app (and autopay feature that worked), then moving to an SCE area, I realized SCE may be the least customer-friendly business I have ever experienced. I get that you have a monopoly, but at least act like you gave a rat’s patoot!

Worthless for most part

App is horribly designed. Which isn’t much different from the website.

Sure you can view and pay your bill along with viewing and reporting outages but that’s about it.

What about your estimate for next month bill based on usage so far.

What about live monitoring of your usage. Ace went to the point of installing smart meters that can accessed by them remotely or even customers in their house but not on MySCE .

What about a quick summary of the dozen and dozens of complicate variety of plans they offer and the ability to change them from MySCE .

MySCE and to a larger level their website are like trying to deal with government. The numerous links, confusing & contradicting information.

SCE has been raising their prices by absurd levels in recent years and yet finding the appropriate plan is still impossible, they don’t even have online customer service or the ability to interface via email. They ONLY accept phone calls. Do they still use typewriters and carbon paper in their office?

My husband has been paying this bill and I just took it over this week. I don’t know if I’ve ever used an app/website that works as poorly as this one. With such a big company you’d think they’d have the money to create user friendly technology. I’ve been trying to print a bill for almost an hour today. Earlier it wasn’t letting me login because I apparently had the wrong password (I didn’t change it and the password that logged me in just fine yesterday is saved on my browser...). Then it locked me out because of failed logins. I tried again later and now it’s letting me login (with the same password that is saved on my browser and was apparently wrong earlier...) but it won’t open up my actual bill. This should not be difficult...it really is that bad!!!

Almost totally useless

This is not an app. This is a link to a web site, disguised as an app. Worse, for every move, you have to log in again. Log in to app (or whatever it is). Then log in to web site. Then log in to view bill (if you can find it). Then log in to make payment (that’s easy to find...). Log in again to search for other features the web site offers. Tiresome. And the remember me function has senior moments.

Their app was user friendly before the update. I too have had issues where MySCE doesn’t open to my account. I have also deleted, reinstalled etc... but I suppose they are still working on the software.

Newly updated app- excellent

Before the update, it worked fine, however very slow. I kept getting alerts that Sce needed to update their app. They finally did, it does not open. 2 days ago it did, but different format. I have uninstalled MySCE twice, powered off my phone numerous times. Hmmmmmm, perhaps they are still working on it!
Well, it has been updated.... works very well. Great improvement! Thank you!

Works fine

This “app” is basically the webpage converted to fit your phone and it does a fine job at that. I’m on an iPhone X and have no problems. I can log in with face ID using my stored website passwords. I use it weekly to check my usage since getting solar installed.
