Can be a lot easier

I love the whole idea of DailyCarb. Simply trying to add an apple to my food intake is difficult. I find it takes several minutes to simply add the components of a salad I make my own. Looking up each vegetable is a chore. If I look up tomatoes it gives me many choices but a raw fresh tomato does not come up until I search over and over. Please make searching for fresh foods easier to find I like making my own food

Kind of cool

I really like DailyCarb for tracking my carb intake. However I wish there were some things that were updated. Like your data base needs some definite updates. I can't find all the foods in any of your data bases and I have to manually put in the information. I also would like to see you add a scanner to your app so I could scan the items and add them to my favorites. I would pay for DailyCarb if there were some changes made. Until then I will continue to use the free version.

Useful app

I got DailyCarb after I was told I need to reduce the number of carbs I eat. It's done a great job of keeping track of what I eat so I know when I've reached my limit. The large database of foods means I can look up the carbs in what I ate rather than make a guess. It has a problem with dropping ingredients from my custom recipes, but is otherwise worth downloading.
Update: The latest version drains the battery overnight by about 50%. I’ve taken to stopping it when not in use so there’s no background activity.

It works, but is missing a lot

DailyCarb is fussy. I’ve gotten used to it, and it’s free, so I’m still using it.

It is nice to be able to keep my glucose numbers and carb counts per meal all in one place. I wish it also counted calories and protein per meal.

Many of the normal things I eat are not intuitive to search, or aren’t there at all. For example, if I search Soy Milk, EVERYTHING with soy milk in it comes up, but I can’t find just plain soy milk. But if I search it as one word “soymilk”, voila…

Also- DO NOT TRUST the nutrition counts! I am finding regularly that it lists the normal serving size, but the actual nutritional information is for HALF the serving.

I’ve gotten used to just using the “Custom Foods” section to add the information from the package.

If you want a regular grocery staple or brand name, I would suggest using the “Supermarket Foods” and see if you can find it there.

Also- have a food scale. Serving size is in grams, not by size or pieces.

Very complicated having to put in my custom foods

The only good part I've found is that it track my carbs. (Or would if I could figure out the food list!) The food data is bad so inputting custom data takes up time I do not have. I would be GREAT if DailyCarb had a SCANNER for food labels data available like Lose it!" It would save a lot of time. I like that I can combine all my health app data but it would be nice if I could just put food journal in one and have it share with the others, as well as share the foods I use between them as well.
I DO like the water tracker!

Could be amazing app ……. Until

First take -
Awesome app, doesn’t make you create account and get sucked into other things.
Very comprehensive app.

1 big problem. You pick what you’ve eaten at each meal and it logs net carbs - great. So things you find yourself eating regularly - it becomes tedious, and you fix this by starring that food as a favorite.

So you begin building up this large list of favorites, and that makes logging what you eat very efficient.
But then …. BOOM !! ……. All of a sudden for no clear reason I can find, every couple of days the favorites list gets completely ERASED. That means you have to start building the list all over again. I sent the company a message, and they asked me to video this mistake. But it appears to happen very randomly, and it’s a bug they MUST FIX.

Overall a nice little tracker

Quite good for tracking common foods, but not so good on supermarket brands. For numerous foods I eat regularly (Orowheat products, Nonni’s biscottis) I’ve noticed the number of carbs listed are actually the percentage of daily carbs for the serving. Not too helpful for my daily tracking if I don’t notice that 6 carbs are listed for that slice of bread rather than 17 carbs. However, for tracking in toto, water, weight, glucose and being able to watch trends over a month, it’s quite helpful.

Wonderful App

I use DailyCarb daily and have done so for several years. Tried othesr but found them to not be so user friendly, including Atkins. The only draw back is the inability to merge food databases. I like the custom foods group a lot more than favorites. If you could move items from search to custom instead of favorites it would be a vast improvement. Reports are a excellent tool to track progress over time

Useful App With Some Room For Improvement

Overall this is a very good app. It functions as advertised, and it's useful for tracking carbs. You can track consumption of water and carbs, as well as weight. I agree that with other reviewers that the food organization is perhaps not as intuitive as it could be, and it is mildly annoying that it resets every time you enter something you ate. Those are relatively minor issues, though, and overall DailyCarb is great

Great way to keep my diabetic logs!

This has helped me so much to track my diabetic log along the day and calculate how many carbs/calories there are in my own recipes. Only issue is that many of the nutritional info about brands aren’t accurate, so always check your foods and edit the nutritional info in DailyCarb for future use!

Mostly a great App

The only issue I have is editing. You cannot edit the “meals”. If you eat a little off breakfast time it is thrown in “other”. DailyCarb could be made to work easier and more user friendly!

A Good App

DailyCarb does what it says it does - tracking carb intake. Some, but not all commercially prepared from the supermarket foods are in the database. You may have to get creative and find an equivalent. There does not seem to be a way to edit a record once you have entered it. So, correcting typo errors or omissions are a problem.

Very helpful with my diabetes

I’ve used in for many years and would really hate to change. I can take the 3 month printout to my Dr at checkup time. He really likes the format and compliments it every time. They scan it in as part of my permanent record.

Easy to Use

Daily Carb is a great app for diabetics. Everything is in it! The only change I would make is the ability to change the time when “something” is done. Sometimes I don’t have my phone on me so at bedtime I check everything is added. If I missed adding a glucose check, it is listed as being done when I make the entry. I can’t change it to the actual time. Also, it would be great for us Seniors to make the typeface larger and easier to see!

Long Time User

This seems to be the best app for us carb counters. My favorite is the weight tracking and reports actually. Anyway, I haven't found a better app that serves my needs as well. Have used this for years and love it!

Diabetes control

DailyCarb has been a huge help with my husband’s carb count for diabetes! I can find out how many carbs for everything, including almost every restaurants food!

Perfect for carb-conscious individuals!

I simply needed an app that I could calculate carbs and track water with. This is perfect! Sometimes the food/drink I'm searching for isn't there. When that happens, I search for the food or drink's nutritional value online and then add it as a custom food/drink. Other than that, I love it.

Daily carb counter review

DailyCarb has been the best one I found for tracking and journaling my daily meals and keeping up with calories, carbs... anything you want. The details, ease of use, simple to understand and makes entering your meal journals and tracking very quick and easy.

Love it!

Love this program! Counts carbs, calories, fat, soduim, it does it all! Very useful for my husband who is a diabetic and has high blood pressure!
It a little difficult (at first) searching and loading your foods, but after using the "help" and following instructions its pretty easy. So far so good! No issues yet. Like it alot.

LB

I recently switched from Diabetes app, which hasn't been updated in a very long time, to Daily Carb. I purchased the entire app even though I'm not a diabetic. There are only two very minor negatives.
The first is having only 4 options that can be added to the bottom quick selection. A home page with all options would be quicker.
The second is figuring out the number of calories burned when entering custom exercises. Where can I find this information?
Despite these negatives I quite simply love DailyCarb. The number one plus is that it updates my iPhone's Health data daily.
My wish list for future updates.
One add potassium to the tracking list for food items.
A lot of common foods and supermarket foods have 0mg for sodium, which isn't true when you look on the packaging.
Add 1/10 n 1/12 for quantity
Please keep updating DailyCarb . I use and depend on it daily.

Best app for tracking

This is a great app for tracking weight, carbs and everything related to nutrition. I especially like being able to see the weight charted by week, month or year.

I've used many other apps but this is the only one that I have continued to use for several years now.

Great resource

DailyCarb has been wonderful! When my physician said I was borderline diabetic and needed to go on a low carb diet and dieting had never even been in my 65 year vocabulary. Daily Carb gave me guidance and an accurate log of carbs, fats, sugar, and weight that enabled me to lose 30 pounds in 2 months, and 18 months later my blood glucose is back in the normal range. Great resource for better health!

All in one app

So far I’m pleased with DailyCarb. I like having everything all in one app from food log, glucose, blood pressure, medication log, alarm reminders for anything you want to log from medication to appointments, etc (after purchase, however). I thought the purchase was worth it to me instead of having 5 different apps taking up my phone storage.

Daily Carb Count

Good to have to give you a ballpark figure for carbs. Do not rely solely on DailyCarb; use info on packages, also. I use it to estimate total carbs; but I also use package info. It'll help keep you where you want to be. A handy reference when you are at a loss when trying to figure out how high the carb count is; especially when you go out to dine, and the restaurant isn’t listed on DailyCarb . It’ll help you stay within your limits. Well worth having.

Great app

I’ve been looking for an app like this. It allows you to enter your food and edit it to what you need, including all the nutritional information. For a small fee you can also input all you medical and exercise information. On a side note, it does show that I have 225 messages in it somewhere. I have not been able to figure out where they are and/or how to clear the number off DailyCarb icon. Other than that I really like DailyCarb. Keep up the great work.

Daily Carb

Still getting used to the features, which are many. I appreciate all of the options for tracking, I just hope it doesn't become a second job, as it is time consuming to enter all if the data... but DailyCarb does a good job of making that as easy as can be. Overall I'm quite impressed with the ability to track so much in one app, and with a whole lot of default data options.
