This app is incredible!!

I have struggled with weight my entire life. There is so much misleading information in the health and fitness industry and a lot of it led me to disordered eating, big weight fluctuations and feeling defeated. Several years ago I discovered Layne Norton online and his honest information is what I needed to really understand nutrition and to see through all of the lies in the industry. When I heard he was behind the this app Diet Coach app, I was really excited to try it. I have used Carbon for a month now and have seen better weight loss results than I have ever seen before. Not only are the results there, I’m not super hungry and grumpy like on other meal plans. It is super easy to use and the coach feature is just like a real coach telling me each week what my calories and macros need to be at to reach my goal. I love that it adjusts based on my results throughout the week so that it is always keeping me on track to hit my goals. I have already told a lot of people about Carbon and will continue to highly recommend it.

The cost of Carbon is negligible compared to the value it gives it’s users. I see myself being a long-term user of Carbon and feel more confident than I ever have that I will finally hit my health goal and maintain the results for the rest of my life. I’m very grateful I found Carbon and highly recommend it to anybody considering it.

This app is off the charts AMAZING!

I’ve been waiting for Layne’s app since he was rudely and stupidly kicked out of “Carbon that shall not be named”. For the past few years I’ve struggled with 5 other apps (including the one not named above) and even hired a PT for a year because she also helped with macros. Yet I couldn’t make the scale move despite weighing and tracking because I was constantly running into road blocks in the food categories. I’d have to deconstruct whole meals in order to find certain items! It was the extremely time consuming and just horrible for my morale! Ultimately I gave up on all of them and bought FLF and Reverse Dieting (also brilliant books) and really tried to figure it out myself, but my inability to “math” was, well ... a problem. FINALLLLLY this app Diet Coach was born and SO worth the wait! The food catalog is the best I’ve seen! I have NOT had to deconstruct a meal and am happily shocked when I can find cultural foods or meals that I eat and have never found in any other app! Carbon was the missing link for me, HANDS DOWN THE BEST! I am 6lbs down in the first month and more motivated to log my meals than ever! Thank you Layne, Holly and Keith for creative something that is truly special and above all else, very well made! I’m so grateful for how responsive you all are with questions! This app changed me

Carbon has changed the way I eat, how I look at food, helped me lose 12 lbs in 9 weeks (I am still going strong), and just overall lifestyle. I have fell victim to so many BB diets before (carb cycling, keto, chicken and rice, blah blah blah) and to be honest I was skeptical and totally thought my body couldn’t handle carbs. I thought if I ate a decent amount of carbs that I would gain weight and fat. I went all in after a spinal fusion surgery as I knew I had to change how I was living. Carbon has shown me food is not an enemy, and has allowed me flexibility ‘dieting’ while still enjoying foods I love like Wendy’s, ice cream etc. I’ve spent years talking about getting shredded and losing weight and pretty much being an idiot, but Carbon has been the only thing that has worked and it’s because it’s changed my mental relationship with food. If I don’t hit my numbers now, meh, so what, the next day I’m back on track and Carbon accounts for it and life happening! I’m telling you, I was skeptical but a firm believer in Carbon, because I’ve seen the change it has helped me achieve and the cool part is I’m only 9 weeks into using this. Best Fitness App on the market.

I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for years now and think it’s great however this app one upped it. this app essentially does what MFP does, tracks calories/macros but has a built in coach which adjusts your calories/macros weekly based on your goals. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, gain weight, maintain weight or reverse diet they have all of those options available. From a diet standpoint you can set it to balanced carbs, reduced carbs, low carbs, ketogenic even plant based. My biggest gripe is there is no option for a carnivore style approach which renders the built in coach useless if you’re following that style of diet. You can still enter in custom macros and use Carbon for tracking calories/macros. I’ve emailed back and forth between their customer service and they’ve always gotten back quickly with friendly and concise messages. On top of that there’s a very active Facebook group for app users. Even more impressive is Layne, Holly and Keith are very interactive in the Facebook group which in itself justifies the additional cost over an app like MFP. Overall if you’re looking for an app that will track your food and more importantly make suggestions to reach a goal you’d be hard pressed to find anything better on the market right now.

So far I’m amazed with this app!

As someone who has always struggled with yo-yo dieting and who has jumped on every type of “plan” there is, I was skeptical. I thought this was just another way for someone to make money from those who want to lose/gain/maintain weight. I had lost a lot of weight a few years ago and while delving into health, I started following Layne. I’ve done all forms of low carb/keto - high protein, high fat, carnivore. All that happened is my cholesterol skyrocketed and I started gaining weight. And I was not eating a lot - twice a day. Anyway, I said something has to change because nothing was working anymore. I signed up and chose to reverse diet because my food has decreased but my weight has increased. Even with exercise. One week in and I’m eating more than I have in months - even with more carbs - and my weight has decreased. I’m looking forward to increasing calories to a healthier level so when my body is recovered and ready to lose weight, I can start decreasing calories with room to drop them without starving. And Carbon does it all - you just have to enter the information, which is pretty easy. Definitely recommend for anyone who has yo yo’d and needs some help getting their calories up and metabolism moving again. Thanks this app!

Serious about progress? You need this app.

For over 9 years, I tracked my calories using a basic, boring calorie tracking app. You know the deal... 1200 cals forever and an app that encourages you to “eat back” the calories it grossly overestimates you burned. Did I make progress? Yeah, some mediocre progress. However, since using this app Diet Coach, I’ve been dialing in on macro tracking. I look forward to the Coach’s smart recommendations each week. I am making incredible progress. Six pounds lost in five weeks, which is right on target with my goals. It’s very user friendly and I regularly watch Layne, Holly, and Keith’s videos on social media for additional tips. If you are serious about your health, you need Carbon. Let the Coach guide you. Like Layne says: “Trust the process, trust the work.” I am finally looking forward to a maintenance phase or even a building phase because now I have the tools to do so in a smart and planned manner. Exactly what I needed

When people ask me about my this app app, the very first thing I tell them is that it was exactly what I needed when I was 19 years old, scared to take up space and lacking the knowledge needed to effectively reach my goals. Other apps give you your macros (dangerously low ones at that) and send you on your way. They don’t explain that you shouldn’t consume the calories burned from exercise that their own app adds back in because your exercise was already used to determine your caloric intake. this app exceeds where every other app on the market fails. I have been using Carbon for the past year and a half and have gained more muscle than I ever did in the 5 years before I found this app. I just started a 6 week cut before going back to maintenance for vacation and it’s the first time I’ve eaten over 1,100 calories while dieting AND I’m seeing results based on my goal. The check ins are easy and even account for whether you’re on/close to your period. I’ve never felt so confident in my life, my clothes have never fit so well. And sure, it takes a lot of dedication to keep up, but the time you save in years spent yo-yo dieting and hating yourself is worth it. If you’re ready to invest in yourself, start with Carbon.

A no brainer investment!

My husband and I have been on a fat loss journey for over a year using the knowledge of team biolayne via social media and his fat loss forever book. Thanks to them and our dedication we’ve lost about 184lbs between the two of us combined! Carbon came at the perfect time to coach us in the next phases - reverse and bulk. I am soooooo beyond happy with Carbon , the tracking ability, the coach making tweaks for you to help take the guess work out of the process and just the accountability of paying for this service. We got the year membership as a gift for our birthdays and I would hands down, no hesitation, renew Carbon as soon as the year is up! Soooo worth it! And if you’re nervous about the commitment - try it for a week or two for less money - I’m sure you’ll be hooked! Also! Their customer support is amazing! I did a check in one week and didn’t realize my fat thumbs messed up one of my daily weight entries which then threw off my calculations drastically. I contacted them and within the day, they reset my checkin so I could do it again correctly! Blown away by how good this app is!

I’ve been a chronic dieter for years. I’ve used so so many apps for tracking. Usually when you get a new app, it takes so long to get comfortable using it and adding all your food to easily input it. Let me say this is the most user friendly dieting app I’ve ever used. First off the coaching side of it is way more spot on than any other guesstimate calorie/ macro estimate I’ve ever gotten. They ask a lot of questions to get you right where you need to be. You can input your weight daily on Carbon and it averages it out over the week which is so cool! You can add up to 7 customizable meals. The search data base must have taken them so long to input! It’s all verified foods with REAL calorie and macro breakdowns (unlike MyFitnessPal which will have a cheeseburger at 10 cals sometimes because users are inputting.. very inaccurate). I looked up a beer.. it had info for countless beers! Wine, countless different grape varieties... a taquito.. it was on there. Makes tracking so simple and easier than ever while being ACCURATE:) it’s so many apps all in one! I couldn’t be more excited about finally

Easiest thing I have done for weight control

I can say that using this app Diet Coach has been by far the easiest thing I have ever done for weight control. Carbon coach gives me my target calories broke down into macros (Protein, Carbs, and fats). I use the included food tracker to track my food which has a huge library of the nutritional macros and calorie count of most any foods you can think of, including popular restaurant menu items. I can literally eat anything I want as long as it fits within the macros/calories Carbon has given me. Weekly I check in with Carbon coach and based on my average weekly weight loss it adjusts my macros/calories up or down based on my rate of loss/gain. If you are compliant and consistent this app Diet Coach is incredibly accurate. I lost 69 lbs in 23 weeks with a weekly weight loss goal entered into Carbon of 3.1 lbs, my actual weekly average weight loss sits at 3 lbs. I am now using Carbon for a reverse diet to build lean muscle mass and will continue to use Carbon to track my maintenance macros/calories. The this app Diet Coach gives you a plan for after your fat loss phase is complete. A total weight management coaching tool. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Best app ever

I stumbled across Carbon from a fb comment. The comment on Carbon was so enthusiastic that I had to try it for myself. I’ve been an avid MFP user for years. Only problem was I was stuck, gaining and losing the same 5-8 lbs for the last two years. Completely frustrated with my progress, I was searching for help. When I came across the fb comment, I thought, what the hell, I have nothing to lose by at least trying it. I downloaded it and immediately joined the fb group for help and instructions. When I initially set it up, I incorrectly put in the wrong weight. I sent a support ticket and was answered almost immediately! Super impressive. I am a fairly new user to Carbon but it is super simple, very little learning curve (unlike other apps that I tried that are just clunky and hard to work) and it has a built in coach! I have lost exactly the amount of lbs that I input as my weekly goal. You can also tweak your macros, which some people may find as plus. I have not at this point changed my macros because I am just starting out, So I want to let Carbon do it’s thing. Honestly, you won’t regret your purchase. Just try it!!

This App is a TOTAL GAME-CHANGER!!

After years of yo-yo dieting and the associated frustration of feeling as though I had “failed again”, I found Carbon. Next level app! Simply the best!

I have tracked calories and macronutrient for years and this is by far the best app on the market.I was absolutely blown away with the ease of the this app app especially after being so comfortable with tracking on other apps. The daily and weekly macro tracking goals make it easy to see your targets and it is so fast to upload food. I was even more impressed with the food search, the this app app has one of the best databases I have come across and again did I said Carbon is so FAST. Being a long time macro tracker, bikini athlete, coach, student, business owner and mom I was a bit hesitant to starting a new tracking app and switching all my favorite foods. I worried I wouldn’t have the time to get it all together in one day and still do my life, but the ease of the this app coach made it easy and seamless. I even found a long time favorite food of mine that was tracked wrong in the other apps. I highly recommend you download the this app app today for some accurate counts and serious motivation.

Wanted to try something new

I follow Layne Norton on Instagram and he has a lot of bravado about his knowledge and also his program. I generally don’t like his aggressive attitude online, but I love his science based approach and respect his in-depth understanding of the weight research as it is above and beyond what many other weight management coaches understand on a physiological level. I wanted to try his program because I thought it might be somehow different than other calorie restricted tracking apps. I thought it might take into account my overall hunger level, give me feedback on what foods I was tracking and make suggestions and even take into consideration my exercise as I feel that on days when I burn a lot of calories I feel extremely hungry the next day and have always wondered if I could do something different than just keep the exact same calorie intake after days where I exercise and do non-exercise (ie weight train and do heavy yard work). Carbon did none of that and I was really disappointed. I can count calories on my own without paying for Carbon . Maybe it is better suited for people who want to gain muscle or put on weight ? I didn’t feel that is was any more helpful than “MyFitnessPal” or other calorie tracking apps and cancelled my subscription.

Use this app. But also TRUST it.

I love love this app and have recommended it to a ton of people IRL. I had read Fat Loss Forever early this year and then was lucky enough to have this app come out right after. I know Carbon knows what it’s doing. I have lost nearly 25 pounds since February and have just a couple more to go for my goal. This is after working at this with a trainer and nutritionist for years and not making progress because the fancy equipment they were using was over estimating my calories by at least 300. Has it been fun? No. It’s been a serious trial of my patience. But I have lost the weight in such a sustainable way that I will be able to keep it off. I eat gummy bears every day and sometimes sourdough bread. I love not having “bad” foods, just foods that fit vs. foods that don’t, today. If I have a craving I schedule it for tomorrow. When I’m hungry I just think about all the good food I’ve been able to eat! I’m 36 and I look better than I ever have before, high school included. Seriously guys, thank you!

Best diet tool ever

For years I’ve used My Fitness Pal to track my macros, so I was skeptical about trying this for a significantly higher investment. I’m SO glad I did - this app does SO much more than MFP , I will never go back. It is way more accurate at helping you estimate where your calories should be, and based on your progress, or lack thereof, it makes the adjustments for you to keep you on track. When something doesn’t seem right, I shoot a note to customer service & THEY ANSWER ME! I LOVE the ability to adjust for higher calorie days during the week. The recipe calculator is way better, as I can add the whole recipe or individual ingredients to my daily log. The food database is way less confusing and more accurate. I don’t have to guess as often as to which item to log. Like I said I cancelled MFP Premium & can’t imagine I would ever go back. It works whether I’m trying to lose, gain, or just maintain. As long as I’m compliant it works and takes all the guesswork out. Thank you Layne Norton you are a genius!

Best Ever

So I used a similar macro website (hint: they kicked Layne out of their company, very poor decision on their part). I could never stick to the macros. I was always binging and the web app was so difficult to use which resorted in me also having to use MFP. So I was never compliant.
I’ve been using this app Diet Coach for 3 weeks now and I’m down 6.8 pounds! It’s very easy to use and I love that I can switch between ounces or grams on every food item that I log.
I logged in to the other companies website tonight to officially cancel and delete my profile and just out of curiosity I checked in to see where it would put my macros. They placed me almost 300 calories less than this app Diet Coach! No wonder I couldn’t stick to their plan.
Carbon is a MUST! No doubt that you will see your desired results.
I signed up for the 1 year subscription and this is one app that I definitely don’t mind paying for. It’s the best investment in your health that you could make.

Would love more advanced setting options

Carbon is a great tool for most people who have a large amount of weight to lose. But for a petite female with a low TDEE trying to lose the last 5 lbs, it’s not been super helpful. I started at 108 in January and 3 months later, I’m at 104. I’m trying to lose very slowly and sustainably, with 1400 calories a day. Any lower than that is just too extreme for my daily life. I would rather do a longer, moderate deficit than a short extreme one. I mainly use Carbon because I was hoping it could give me a good estimate for what my maintenance calories are. But being pretty close to my goal weight, the scale isn’t going down every week and Carbon is not patient enough for me. It keeps trying to lower my calories too low if I don’t lose weight on the scale every week. It‘s taking several weeks for the scale to budge sometimes. I’m losing about 1 pound a month, which is okay for me. But basically, Carbon just isn’t flexible enough. I’m hoping in the future they can make some sort of advanced option for people like me who need a slower rate of weight loss.

Fantastic Nutrition Coaching Platform

I’m a 47 yo male who’s never been able to successfully diet down to what I call beach lean (ie six pack). I would typically restrict calories way too much, become frustrated/exhausted, and blame it on poor genetics.

With the help of this app, I’m down to about 12% bf and am on my way to 10%. I am striving to maintain as much LBM as possible, so I’ve been maintaining heavy resistance training while on the cut. Carbon has been spot on after the first few weeks. As Layne always emphasizes, trust the process and be patient. Log your food, weigh in, and you will see results. Also, I also highly recommend you buy a food scale until you really understand portion sizes.

I read some of the negative reviews, and they are all without merit. It is coaching. It is effective. If these users experienced sub-par results, they probably are not accurate in their food logs or have unreasonable expectations. TRUST THE PROCESS, BE CONSISTENT, AND YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL WITH this app!

Best nutrition app EVER

I love Carbon. Carbon allows me to eat intuitively to the extent I want. I have goals but my intuitive eating doesn’t always align with those goals especially when I’m trying to build muscle or prepping for a bodybuilding competition. Carbon allows me to eat without a “plan” but still keeps me accountable to my macros and keeping my goals in mind. Carbon adjusts to my personal results. If my goal is to lose weight and Carbon sees my average weight stalling Carbon reacts and takes the guess work out of me figuring out what to do myself for my macros and calorie intake and that is just pure genius! It’s literally having a nutrition coach on your pocket. The help desk is great when you have questions abs we have the best online support community. I will be a life long this app Diet Coach app user. Thank you Layne, Holly and the rest of your incredible team for making such an amazing and economical nutrition coach.
