Though the mag is noteworthy, if you ever encounter a subscription issue like I have, you’ll discover that there is actually no way to contact the magazine or GoodLightMagazine developer for help. I renewed my subscription in November and as of yet have not been able to access any of the magazines onto my iPad though access to mags prior to renewal remain accessible. Even more frustrating is that I have to create my own process to rectify... after no responses from using email, Twitter, and Apple support. Perhaps it is wiser to benefit from

The articles are not written/edited well and seem amateurish. I know Michael is a good writer and teacher, but the contributing writers and photographers are not. Most articles I’ve read offer little practical help and are more of a day in the life of the writer. I used to really enjoy this magazine, but it has gone downhill in the past few years.

I have been a subscriber since the beginning but I am constantly asked to purchase individual issues. Past six issues don’t even have an option to download. Customer support is non-existent. If they can’t fix my problems I will have to cancel my subscription.

GoodLightMagazine continually asks for me to subscribe when I have an ongoing subscription through apple. Even though you have paid for your downloaded issues; once GoodLightMagazine ask you to resubscribe; you lose access to those previously purchased issues. If the creators can fix this glitch, it would be a perfect app because the issues are filled with very informative articles.

This is an incredibly useful magazine that doesn't stray from it's primary subject. It is strictly about lighting. No industry news or product announcements that you can find on hundreds of web sites. Very little in the way of product testing/placement. Just articles about lighting setups and creative model photography from experienced professionals and up-and-comers. The well written articles are accompanied by lighting diagrams and example photos that contain all the info you need. While some authors mention specific brands that they use, the info they present is brand agnostic. I've subscribed to or bought at news stands just about every photo mag out there, but Good Light is the only one I really look forward to.

Aesthetically pleasing, informative and interactive without being too fussy. Good for photographers new and advanced as well as artists looking to spruce up their illustration or just seeking models. Nice price as well.

Photography magazines have all pretty much devolved into billboards for whoever will pay their bills.
Good light is different. It give practical inexpensive techniques that anyone can do as well as technique to push a photographers skill level,,
I’ve pretty much given up on magazines except for GL. This is the only one I actually subscribe to.
