Generally useful

Works well except that there are some games that it are difficult to play on the iPad. For example, when you have to touch and hold the cursor in the bottom right corner of the screen.
It would be useful to practice all the games that appear in assessments. There are a few games that I just don’t understand how to play & invariably that will be the last game of the assessment sequence which means I cannot practice it without exiting & repeating the 1st 2 games as well.

So this is cognitive training…

All I took was your assessment–out of curiosity how exactly do you pull a generalized score from such specific tests? And who were your consultants in designing this assessment? No names of course I would love to know what the epistemology was here because what it seemed like to me (Cognitive Neuroscientist) is a game that got progressively tougher and ultimately gave myself and four other cognitive researchers another neuroscientist and two cognitive psych majors such awful scores we were seriously considering hanging it up you know? I mean all four of us flunked!😳😳😳just kidding. I’m only a neuroscience student, and only one of us here has a PhD but she signed off on our theory that perhaps the only real cognitive training is done in a clinical or therapeutic context, and that perhaps your customers would encounter greater potential for cognitive benefit by downloading something more video gamish like anything. This was a set of flash cards defined by swift and draped in pretty html. Nothing more. Scientific parenting I’m dead🤣🤣🤣

Deleted in Less Than a Week

If you’re thinking about sticking with the free version, I will give you the run down.

You get one free cognitive assessment. The assessment was fun and you could email yourself the results. (The other assessments were around $50).

You get access to 4 different games:
- Mahjong
- A candy matching game
- Whack-A-Mole
- Word hunt

You get 3 daily training exercises that are picked from the free games and also the premium games.
———————————
I was very excited about my plan. I said “okay, 3 games every day, no big deal.”

The first time I played, it said “Come back in 24 hours.” I skipped the day after because the 24 hours were up around the time I went to bed, so I just figured I’d wait until the next morning and that be part of my morning routine.

Well, every day after that I would sit and play for an hour, but it never gave me a daily ✅. So I would think “okay, maybe it gives me a ✅ when I beat my high score. So I would spend SO much time trying to beat my high score and I couldn’t. And the day after, it would still give me an ❌ for the previous day.

I was LIVID.

Also, I’m not sure how they score the Majong, but it gets extremely difficult after level 3, and I tried looking up the rules, but this app doesn’t have any rules anywhere on CogniFit or online. Just the “benefits”.

So I deleted it.

Dear this app,
If this is a bug, fix it. And put more directions out there!!

Doesn’t work well

I’ve used it five days on my iPhone. It doesn’t remember that I’ve logged in and I have to sign in every time. It doesn’t track my history correctly and shows that I didn’t train when I did. It offers only the same three games every day. I did the general cognitive assessment which was a cool experience. The controls are not great- the joystick function on the coordination game is glitchy and not intuitive. The letters are too small to select on the word game, which causes frustration and delays, and cannot possibly allow for accurate assessment. Day to day it’s not remotely competitive with other options. Too bad, I was excited about the science. Maybe it’s designed/optimized for PC and not mobile. I’ll be deleting this one and sticking with Peak and Lumosity.

Can’t progress in training w/o sound but no sound option

I have gone in almost comical circles with customer service providing examples and screenshots and all the information they ask, practically pleading with them to open a defect or help. I have no option to enable sound. And… It wouldn’t be a problem, but the daily training *requires* you to complete their selection of games to move forward and some require sound. So I’m stuck if I want to do daily training (or I have to randomly play just to finish the game). They basically say I don’t need sound for level 1 of one game and ignore the fact there’s no sound on the others. I foolishly bought a 3 year subscription which I’ll probably cancel. I do really like a few of the games, though. But the poor customer service is worse than the buggy app.

Recommended!

"this app", which focuses on training the brain through different activities such as memory games, agility games, and others related. While not an actual treatment for anxiety and depression disorders, CogniFit is good to be used in assistance with proper treatment. When dealing with depression and anxiety one of the symptoms is struggling with concentration. CogniFit has activites directed spefically aimed towards this issue. Used hand in hand with Cognitive-behavioral therarpy which also focuses on training the mind could be very effective in seeing improvement in one's mental health. I believe CogniFit is definitely a helpful resource

so far so good

i just started today with the free games and i am having fun. i can see myself trying to outdo my last scores tomorrow. learning how to play the games and get the screen to perform how it’s needed to takes a few minutes. i will be better tomorrow with the games played today because the learning curve is hopefully finished. and if not then that’s part of the game. be patient with yourself and play like a kid. some games required me to try things which didn’t make sense. that’s fun as well. try it yourself!!

Saved me from new mom brain!

After I had my baby, I swear I would forget my head if it wasn’t attached. I’m used to being an intelligent, articulate person, and after the baby I seriously felt like I had ephasia. But after no more than a week of playing these brain games, I started to feel more focused. My concentration improved, and I felt like I was picking things up faster. I would definitely recommend CogniFit to anyone looking to “get their brain back”!

My moment of therapy

Engaging in this avenue of therapy from home has been and continue to be very rewarding.
The overall structure of this program has been very rewarding for me since I have had to make the hard decision of relocating, thus removing me from my in-house therapy sessions.
Replacing my in-house sessions with this programs has truly benefited my in every aspect of my therapy.
Will always recommend this program for any long term therapy.

CogniFit

The instructions on a few of the tasks are not clear. A few are figured out over time. Some are not and I do not do well on those tasks. Some of the eye-hand coordination tasks would be better if played on a larger screen such as iPad not an iPhone. I have changed to playing on my iPad and seem to be doing much better. I would recommend CogniFit.

Ridiculous Cognitive Exercises!

CogniFit definitely wasn’t developed by anyone in the medical field! I tried it because I do have MS & it never hurts to challenge oneself. However, this was an exercise in pure idiocy!
I was told by Apple that CogniFit was developed by designers, developers & the like. That’s obvious! If they asked anyone with seasoned medical experience how to address cognitive fitness in those with nuerological illnesses & conditions; CogniFit would be much more comprehensive and assessment related. There would be feedback, intelligent challenges rather than word games & matching which angle a basketball is sitting at!!
Don’t waste your time. There are much better brain fitness exercises out there!

Awesome!!!!!!!

I cannot say enough great things about this program! I have a very complicated, very intense job requiring much study and training to continue performing at a high-level. I was having cognitive issues and in less than 75 sessions my brain fog has almost completely been eliminated. This has caused my confidence to rise! My abilities have reached new levels!

Such an intriguing game

this app is a really interesting app. It allows me to understand and learn what & why I’m playing. I feel more focused and calm simultaneously whenever I’m playing a game. Though, I like to call it a trade because I’m making good use of my time instead of doing something else less productive.

p.s it also helped me with my sport

Challenging!

I just started using the free version and have been challenged throughout. I’ve had no issues with CogniFit , it runs fast and smoothly. I need a lot of brain training so I might end up subscribing after I play with it a little more. I’m really enjoying the games & I believe the initial assessments are pretty accurate.

By

Good directions & fun

I often get stressed playing these games & assumed that it was the task alone that made me anxious. Anyway, the design (less simple than it looks) & the straight forward “how to play” makes the cognitive workout more enjoyable & therefore I use it more & actually feel more accomplished. I didn’t expect that.

Powerful!

A few days in and loving CogniFit! I’ve played several other brain training games, but this one is different! Careful of training at night, because your brain will be lit up and make it hard to sleep. Excited to see how it works over time!

One of the best apps for your brain

This is definitely one of the best apps I’ve tried for brain fitness. I had a question about a game and chatted with their customer support on CogniFit . They were super helpful, which is pretty rare these days. Definitely recommend for anyone who is serious about keeping their brain in shape.

I’m diagnosed with executive function disorder

I need something like this to help me improve my mental abilities and track progress. I have yet to make any purchases because I’m on day two of using CogniFit . It really is helping me try things the doctor wants me to practice. Give it a try.

It works

I do it not as often as I should maybe a few times a week but even with that I’ve seen improvement in my processing capabilities and memory. I have also been able to understand concepts better as I’m studying for a test.

Great concept, good games, but glitchy interface.

I loved the experience of using the trial version and decided to subscribe for the full version. Once I did, I can not log back it. I have been trading emails with customer support but no resolution yet. The browser version cannot be run effectively through Safari, as required functionality is not always available.

Frequently Crashes in the Middle of Daily Training

It frequently crashes in the middle of the daily training sessions. After three or four attempts, I give up some days. Doesn’t seem worth the annual fee if I can’t do what it says I’m supposed to do every day. I’ve got a cognitive impairment, how can I improve my score from low 200s to get to 800 some day if CogniFit won’t work much of the time?

By

CognIFit

this app has great mentally challenging games that train and challenge one’s brain in a variety of ways that work to develop different thinking processes and more sophisticated thinking processes! What a great way to start out each day...prepared to meet the challenges of each day!
What a great investment for the future!

NOT WORTH IT

CogniFit is really expensive, and like others have mentioned, you can get a lot of the games like mahjong and whack-a-mole for free.

The thing that annoyed me the most though was that each game has a five minute time limit. The games were not that interesting to begin with and a five minute timer is just way too long. I didn’t even finish the free General Cognitive Test because I got bored and didn’t want to waste another four minutes trying to guess an 8 digit number that I knew I’d never remember.

By

Improvement!

I've noticed improved cognitive abilities in my self throughout the time I have used CogniFit. I highly recommend it to anyone who has suffered from depression or any anxiety disorder and feels forgetful or feels loss of processing speed for any reason. Thank you.

Horrible update that doesn’t work

The new update is horrible and doesn’t work! I have a large this app account and manage many patients. All of my patients who have updated their this app app are no longer able to use their accounts including myself. I have sent the this app help center 3 messages over the last 3 days and no one has responded. There is also no number to contact them. Horrible customer service for a product that I get charged for on autopay.

Wonderful experiance

My thoughts of about a weeks time with use of CogniFit. Extremely easy to comprehend. Such a basic and simple construction. Filled with so many different various games which target all areas of mental faculties. A well established app for brain training.

CognFit app

Great app for using my brain. Some directions are not clear. Receiving more feedback on how I am doing would be very helpful. Some scores don’t seem to line with what I think my progress is and appears to be related to the unpredictability of my iPad screen which can freeze up.

By

Great concept

Used to always work really well, mentor would upload activities whenever I ran out. Now it refuses to start, I’ve updated CogniFit , deleted and redownloaded it and everything but it still refuses to work. So frustrating! The start button can be pressed and all it does is flicker, you can press it until your blue in the face and it won’t start.

By

Fun

Enjoyable app, I use it every time in am in a waiting line, or during a break. Super fun to see your progress throughout the week ! I am starting to see improvement :)

By

Fun and easy

Easy to use, fun and I feel inspired to help my brain. I feel as if my memory is improving and it’s fun to use while waiting for the train or when I have some free time.

Playing tricks with email preferences

First off, it’s just too expensive. Second; when I tried to stop their emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link on the emails it took me to a page in Spanish with several options to choose from. I don’t speak Spanish so of course I couldn’t figure out how to discontinue the emails. I don’t think that was just a mistake.
