I wanted to backup the contacts to my Dropbox account but couldn’t do this until I sighed up for a free account on the developers system. They now are sending me junk emails. Plus when I turn off the automatic contact backup feature ( which appears to cost more as it is a subscription) it looks like something is wrong ( red banner icon, red switch in off position and language in the confirmation that makes it sound like having this off will be really bad). I feel manipulated and annoyed. Finally, when you view a contact there is no way to get back to the same place in the directory. Very difficult to cull my address list manually since I need to look at the details before deleting. Really wish I hadn’t purchased this product.

EasyCleaner seemed great. Except when I merged the duplicate contacts it does not keep all the fields- I know for sure that the “Notes” section gets deleted, and there could be other fields as well who knows. The Notes section gets deleted even if both contacts had notes. So it seems that EasyCleaner is creating a new contact instead of keeping the most complete contact and updating it with info that does not match from the other contact being deleted- which would be a much better approach and help to reduce this problem. I write important notes in the contact field so this is really bad, I would rather have duplicate contacts than lose important info. Also, before it merges EasyCleaner backs up your contacts. And there is a section in EasyCleaner that allows you to Restore from this backup. BUT the back ups do NOT have the Notes section either so the back up for this issue is useless and gives you a false sense of comfort to do the merge. If you had this same problem and sync to Exchange then go to your Deleted Items (or Online your Deleted Contacts) and restore from there. Took a lot of wasted time but I got my contacts back, but with more duplicates now!

Matches aren’t very easy to specify. Either the email or the phone but not the phone and email or not the phone and zip or not the phone in first name or not the phone and last name so basically it’s pretty weak. Now that there is the concept of least viable software the problem is everybody makes the least viable software and then stops. That wasn’t the idea of software development. At that point they just start ignoring we need for a better product because all the products are lame. And they are. Every product I’ve tried in this category is pretty useless. Another thing making this a bad product is after you merge merge is still on the list so I redo the merges and it says there are seven email matches. And then I go back to my first tab and it shows there are nine and that includes one I’ve already done. So it’s not very well programmed. It doesn’t seem like it actually does when it says it’s going to do. Unlike most I am just scared it’s just going to mash up my data which is what most of these apps do.

EasyCleaner works well the first time it scans your contacts — especially if you have a relatively large database and have not used any similar product previously. It catches most everything and makes it relatively easy to clean up duplicates, delete useless records, etc. That said, I have two major pet peeves. First, EasyCleaner counts any record that has the same phone number as another record as a duplicate record. The suggested solution— to combine the two records into one or delete one of the records — is not helpful. In most cases, it’s a situation where a couple shares a phone number so it’s in each of their records. I want to keep both records as they are. I don’t see an option to do that so the same records keep showing up as duplicates, and keep wanting me to choose between merge or delete. I think there is something I’m missing because there just has to be a way to deal with this issue in EasyCleaner . But I can’t find it and, my second pet peeve, Support has never responded to either of my requests for help with this issue. So there may be an easy way to deal with it in EasyCleaner , but if there is, Support is not interested in sharing that information with me.

... meaning that it works as described by its developer AND that at present time I do not know any other application better than Cleaner Pro. I have use this application for about 3 years. I have used other applications such as:

Contacts Mover, A2Z Contacts, SmartMerge Pro, Contacts Sync, Cleaner One, Easy BackUp and Simpler.

Contacts Mover, A2Z Contacts, and SmartMerge Pro have just the same “data entry” screens ... seems like developed by the same developer or perhaps these applications uses common modules so that their looks, appearance and functionality are almost exactly the same.

At any rate, the reason why I gave a 4-Star rating is because no matter what “contacts application” you use, YOU ARE relinquishing your Contacts List OWNERSHIP to their developers!!! What this does is that you will eventually see an increment in junk mail, robocalls and text messages which disregards their developer’s claim and assurance that they don’t sell or share your contacts list with 3rd parties. This will force you to subscribe to additional protection services from your Wireless Telephone Service Provider or by “3rd companies” providing the same kind of “protection”.

Nevertheless, I do recommend Cleaner Pro above the other mentioned applications as more stable and responsive.

EasyCleaner works great at identifying and merging duplicate contacts. Literally seconds to fix.

You have to go back in and use EasyCleaner to correct duplicate telephone numbers in the contact list. It works great. I don’t know if the merging causes the duplication or if the duplicates were already there. I think there might have been already there. It takes seconds to fix

You have to go back in and use EasyCleaner to correct duplicate emails within the contacts. This didn’t work. It could not fix it. There were only 13. I had to go to menu select duplicate emails and manually delete the duplicate email off the contact. It took about 3-5 minutes. You have to edit through this series of steps or the edit of the contact won’t remain saved and the list of duplicate emails won’t diminish in length.

Does exactly what I was looking for. For some reason u do the transfer cloud usually cas I used to hv no problem not much anyway with my contacts bht this last one upgrade to the new iPhone and it put like 2000 contacts wich I think now a lot are ads cas I don’t even no these people like so many doctors numbers I haven’t herd off so it must be another way they sell info or whatever theses corporations do and it was so long trying to delete thers no mass delete on iPhone it will not do it and it’s like three or four steps to delete one number EasyCleaner said it could do mass deletes and all the scams that I hv run into I was skeptical. But it is awesome and the best part so easy. No searching for this and that u wana delete a lot of contacts and not waste to much time just get cleaner app. Tap the icon on the top right and start tapping the ones to delete hit trash. And bye. Awesome thank you

I’ve been using this cleaner for years.
I used to work for Apple Inc and there would be times when someone would need to clean up their phone.

100’s of contacts spread across various combinations. One person’s name three times with different number an address attached to a number without names. Even really tricky stuff like moving contacts from the server of a previous employer.

I’d recommend this and after some time things were great. Seriously it’s better than all the new one. I don’t really write reviews and definitely not really positive ones but I’ve almost never had a problem with EasyCleaner except the normal software glitchs that affect all apps until there’s an update.

Again I’m laughing at doing this but honestly I would strongly Recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I have been deleting duplicate contacts and would accidentally delete the real contact (thankfully, I didn’t factory reset my old phone yet so that I could retrieve them). My wife found EasyCleaner and saw the option to delete duplicates, but thought that it would be much better to just merge. It took less than 10 seconds! Thank you so much for EasyCleaner because I was going to say FORGET IT & delete everything! 5 STARS!

So I have been so irritated with the Apple sync - every time I sync my phone it was duplicating the 2000 names in my contacts or so. I had as many as 9 duplicates for some of my contacts. I installed this software, and inside of 5 minutes - no more duplicates! Wow! Wasn’t perfect - I would say or cleared out 98% of the problem. I still have about 15 duplicate- like contacts that I’m not sure why the program didn’t merge - oh - and it merged them rather than delete them! Much better! Five stars from me!!

Talk about saving time. Sorry I have a busy life and do not have the time to got through my phone and edit/delete each individual or duplicate(s) contact in my phone that would have taken forever!!! Thank You cleaner for helping and inventing an app that can help people do this that don't have the time. You saved so much space on my phone. Downloading your app was easy peasy and all I had to do was select some things to get minimize my contact list from 1,890 to 485. So much help and thanks so much!! God Bless and thanks again!! 😘😍🤗😎🤓

Just bought an iPhone X and about 1500 old work contacts transferred over from my old phone. For a moment, I started deleting one by one until I figured there had to be a better way. I found Cleaner Pro through an internet search, downloaded it for free, and within 10 minutes had my entire contact list cleaned up! Amazingly easy to use and honestly if it cost money to buy I would have gladly paid it. Stop frustrating yourself and download EasyCleaner!!

I needed a way to merge Yahoo and gmail contacts into a single source in iCloud contacts to share across multiple Apple devices. This tool worked exceedingly well. Through the process I was able to use this utility to clean and remove duplicates and easily identify other problems this utility will alert you to. I now have one authoritative contact source in iCloud. One warning, you have to understand all the Apple settings concerning iCloud, contacts and email to be successful. IOS 12.1.4.

I’ve never been accused of being a modern day tech whiz - in our home my wife rightfully earned and owns that title as she patiently (sometimes) leads me through things I’ve forgotten or never learned. One thing that I have learned over the years is that some app developers are merciful and kind to tech challenged folks. If I had their enviable talents I would try to have them “test drive” my coded master pieces whereby my contributions could reach and be appreciated by a larger audience of users. (My unsolicited advice-thank you).

If u r consolidating Google, Yahoo & other old contact lists that have duplicated to your iPhone, EasyCleaner I found is exactly what I was looking for in the first 5 minutes. Like an Excel worksheet sorted and filtered ready for you to merge with many options but better..and you choose what you want EasyCleaner to do before losing important information. I chose to view each duplicate contact it found before choosing 'merge'. You can change the Name of the contact name that will be saved once merged and send yourself a full .zip file by email attachment before and after making changes-A nice feature.

I’ve used EasyCleaner several times Iver the years to merge contacts. I like how I can move contacts from different exchanges (Gmail, Hotmail etc, iCloud etc…) all into one place, merge duplicates and, if I wanted, make a copy and store on all exchanges. One and done app for merging contacts.

Easy to move all contacts from multiple sources (iCloud, different email exchanges) into one area. It's also very easy to move all the contacts from one source to another, ie: iCloud to exchange (mail) or vice versa. It's nice having the exact same contacts on my iPhone, iPad and email.

Finally a contact cleanup app that works well!! I reviewed and wasn’t concern that it was deleting contacts and it actually did what it stated. Once it didn’t know what to do with a few, I was able to make adjustments, change names and finish the process. In some cases, my iPhone has created 10 or more duplicates! I’m so happy with the results. The only opportunity I’ve seen so far is to make the titles more descriptive so that the user knows exactly what certain actions do or what can be done. I could see someone who doesn’t use business or efficiency apps often wasting excess time. Thank you for the positive experience.

It works how it says it works.

***BEWARE 1 THING: When it finds similar names, they sometimes are very loosely related and they are actually 2 different people. The most severe example: I had “Enzo Yyyy” and “Enzo Zzzz,” their last names were both stored, they are 2 different Enzo’s, and they needed to stay separate; it tried to combine them into 1 contact.
Just remember to click into each contact that it is combining to make sure “Josh Smith” isn’t being combined when they are 2 different threads. I wish that it would, at that point, see if you had 2 different text or email threads with those contacts. At that point it would give you the option to combine before lumping them in with the assumed duplicates.

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to write a 5 star review more than I have for EasyCleaner. It is a life saver my mom had 2000 + contacts from years and years of switching phones and literally had 5 copies of every contact. It was dreadful trying to delete them through iCloud, so I googled how to delete multiple contacts when this gem showed up in a blog. Wow am I glad we downloaded this. What we had already been working on for an hour and gotten no where, EasyCleaner came in and saved the day, and many more days by consolidating all those 2000+ contacts into exactly 303. I literally can’t contain my happiness and how happy mom was. Her contact list was an eyesore and now it’s super tidy thanks to CleanerPro.

I have been suffering from a very stupid self-move by iPhone when the system out of the sudden acted like he knows what is better for me and brought all my Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and windows live email contacts to be within my phone contacts. I hated searching into my contacts for months and i just couldn't bear delegating each contact individually. So I installed EasyCleaner , and the best thing is that it divides the contacts from their original source. You can just select them all and deleeeeeete for good. Or you can merge whatever information in the duplicated contacts in one.
